Great Location

We really enjoyed our stay at Casita Miguel. We spent many relaxing mornings drinking coffee on the patio. The beach was within hiking distance or a short drive by car. Huntington Beach has many great activities available. Because of the location we were able to easily spend many happy days with our grandchildren. We would definitely rent this property again. Michael was very attentive to our needs and the rental is very will equipped for many local activities. There is room on the patio to enjoy quiet cookouts after a long day at the beach. Thank you for a great vacation Michael.

What a great little cottage. We were met at the property by the owner Michael. He answered all of our questions. Gave recommendations on places to eat and visit. He gave us the location of the nearest church. The cottage had everything we wanted. The kitchen had all the necessary appliances and cookware. We used the computer and the internet access to stay in touch family and friends. I even received a fax from my business. We enjoyed our walks to the beach. It took us about ten minutes to get to downtown and the beach. There is a small library within walking distance of the property. I highly recommend this place and will rebook when in the area again. A disappointment.

My wife and I have used HomeAway for the first time last year, when we rented our vacation home in Newport Beach, CA. We enjoyed the convenience of renting a home, with all the amenities of our home. This year we decided to try Huntington Beach. After booking the HB home over four months ago, We were unable to reach the individual who operates this home so we could confirm our stay, and plan a time to pick up the keys, this was already after we had place our deposit with the owner. For over three weeks my wife consistently called the owner. It was only until she called HomeAway Customer service, when they were finally able to get in contact with the owner. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the owners Mother. The owners whereabouts were unknown to the mother herself, and she had no previous notion of what exactly was going on. she stated she was instructed to provide the keys to my wife and I. After the mother left, my wife and I checked out the place to see what the house had to offer. We came upon open electrical outlets, with wires exposed. When I went to turn on the A/C, the electrical breaker tripped, and I wasn't able to reset it, so we had no A/C. The cottage sat in the backyard part of the actual home it was located on. There was clutter in the back patio, so when we sat outside, we had to walk around clutter. Overall, my wife & I were not impressed with this house rental. The lack of communication directly with the owner was a big focal point for my wife and I. It was a terrible way to proceed with this type of business transaction. HomeAway should be more aware of what types of rental units are available through their website, in lieu of what type of condition they are in, 'living' would be preferred.

Owner response:We were unaware that there was any problem with Joe09's stay. Unfortunately there was a personal family emergency out of state which required the presence of the owner. The owner's mother was there every day and no complaints were reported to her. The rental has been on the HomeAway site since July of 2007 and we have guests who return through out the year, including one guest who rents for 4 consecutive months. We have received written correspondence from past guests with positive reviews. We were sorry to learn through the site that Joe9 and his wife did not enjoy their stay.

We had a wonderful time. Michael and his family are so accomodating and friendly without being intrusive. The cottage was very comfortable and well supplied. It was exactly what we wanted.

We stayed at this property at the end of our 2 months in the States. The property was clean and well furnished. The property had new bikes, which we used to ride from Huntington Beach to Newport Beach. There were beach chairs, several beach umbrellas, an ice cooler, and ample beach towels. It was close enough to the beach and Main Street that we walked there every night for dinner and cocktails. The property manager was very kind and helpful. He recommended many great restaurants and pubs. We had friends that stopped by and we all used the Hot Tub and Barbeque. The water fountain in the yard, the outside torches really made the place feel like our own private paradise. We highly recommend this cottage. Try it is a great location and a bargain for the price.

What a great find and a great deal. We LOVED our little cottage and having the bikes and other beach amenities was such an added bonus. The owner was helpful and gracious and willing to answer any questions or help with anything we needed. I highly recommend this property.

A wonderful find at short notice. Walking distance to the beach and Main Street. A great place to stay while we were visiting family. The owner is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Will plan on staying again next year. Appt is well equipped and comfortable. A good find.

Wow what a find. We needed a property close to ours for my in-laws. We have used VRBO in the past and had a lot of luck. This cottage had all the comforts of home, was within walking distance to downtown, and a few blocks from our home. My in laws are already rebooking for their Thanksgiving and Christmas visits. Thanks VRBO
