This house is three years old and sits right on the white sandy beach of the Gulf of Mexico at Alligator Point. Don't worry there are no alligators only a narrow peninsula that resembles an alligator!
Located just South of Tallahassee, Alligator Point is a non-commercial beach made up of single family vacation homes. There are no commercial enterprises(other than the marina)on the peninsula. Most the time you feel like you have a private beach all to yourself. It's like taking a step back in time.
There is ample wildlife to observe, miles of beach to explore and close to restaurants and shopping. The fishing is great right off the beach or on any number of charter boats in nearby Panacea or Carrabelle. It is adjacent to a State Park and federal wildlife area with picnic areas and hiking trails.
This house is special in many ways. Firstly, it is higher that the surrounding houses and the views are outstanding. The living areas are the top floor and the kitchen/great room opens to a large deck. Part of the deck is under roof and part is open for the sun worshippers. Sitting on the deck you get the feeling that you are on a luxury cruise liner, only without the waves and other people. The design and décor of the house is a blend of classical beach house design and modern convenience. All of the ceilings are 10 tall and all of the ceilings, floors, and walls are wood; you will find no wall to wall carpet or sheetrock here, only natural materials tastefully selected and expertly installed.
This house was build by an Architect and General Contractor as their personal second home with loving attention to detail. It was built to share with families and friends. As a guest, expect your senses to be delighted.

My family and I stayed here in April of this year and we couldn't have asked for a better location or home. When we travel we like to feel spoiled and this home totally spoiled us! The views were fantastic, the dolphin parade was always a treat, and the home and decor were truly comfortable and relaxing. A beach vacation at its best! Thank you Bob for sharing your home with us, we will not hesitate to come back and visit again!

Our expectations were very high, and the home did not disappoint in any way. The living spaces on the top are light filled with a great view of everything. Very comfortable in every aspect. Well designed and built. As for the setting, we were looking for a place to get away from everything, and Alligator Point fit the bill perfectly. Squadrons of pelicans would fly down the coast, almost within arms reach from the deck it seemed. So many dolphins or (porpoise?), sometimes within a few feet of shore. And the constant sound of waves... If we're ever in the area again, we'd come back in a heartbeat. And while you're there, go take a boat trip in Wakulla Springs State Park - a great intro to the real natural non-coastal Florida. btw, we're a family with three middle-schoolers, who loved it, too!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home--the architecture and attention to design and detail with all the special touches was a treat. We had two other couples with us and we had plenty of privacy when we wanted it or had the open and comfortable kitchen, dining, and living area to be together looking out over the white sandy beach. One of the couples was from California and we wanted them to see what our beaches are like in Florida--they were quite impressed with the beach and the house. We sat out on the porches thoroughly enjoying watching shrimp trawlers, dolphins or just the waves on the shore. We stayed for the weekend, but I'm ready to go back for at least a week!

Thank you Bob for a great rental. The house is beautifully decorated with plenty of room. We enjoyed sleeping in the extra bed on the screened porch. There was hardly a person on the beach during the day. 5 stars Will rent again.
