Loved the "quiet side"!
Hi Brian, Our stay was wonderful! Your home is beautiful and we could not have asked for any better location! It was greatly stocked with everything we needed (okay, we could have used a muffin pan, but we’ll forgive you for that one – smile!). We pretty much had the beach to ourselves the entire time. Everyone was very friendly and kind. Barbara’s husband brought us two cut and cold coconuts to drink, which I thought was so kind of him. We took two days where we drove over to Seven Mile Beach and did the touristy stuff (Hell, Turtle Farm, shopping, etc.), but we enjoyed coming back to the “quiet side” of the island. And driving, what a hoot! We finally figured it out, but had lots of laughs doing so. Spent lots of time snorkeling, diving and relaxing. It was a great trip and I want to thank you so much for all of your help and assistance along the way. We most definitely will try to return one day! Have a most fabulous day!

Peaceful Paradise Stay
Peaceful Paradise Stay
After talking with the owner we had no reservations about staying at his home and boy were our feelings right on. The property is just as pictured or even better if possible. Everything was spotless and comfortable. No there is no a/c and it was not missed at all. The feel of the home is totally Caribbean and that is what we were looking for. Having the ability to snorkel right off the shore was thoroughly enjoyable and the reef is beautiful. Although you do need a car, driving on the 'other' side did not present any problems. There were plenty of movies and we got the news from the internet. Having the convenience of a kitchen made getting up more enjoyable as I had coffee on the lanai every morning watching the sunrise as my husband slept in. Close enough to some good restaurants and beaches without having to encounter the crowds of 7 mile beach and the abundance of cruise ship guests.

Summer vacation bliss!Guest comment entered by owner
Summer vacation bliss!
Hi Brian, Me again...we just wanted to let you know again what a wonderful vacation it was; the sea lodge was immaculate and we had the beach and water pretty much to ourselves! The snorkeling was truly amazing; we saw a turtle and a manta ray, which was a bonus...and the fish and coral were amazing. The weather was a little on the warm side but we expected that. The last few days the trade winds kicked in and it was beautiful! It was also so nice to meet Miss Barbara and Mr. Linzy (sp)...Linzy cut open a few coconuts for us to try on our first day there, and then proceeded to drop off fresh mangoes every few days for us. He then surprised us with a full Caymanian meal for lunch one day: fish, plantains, biscuits and rice and beans that they made for us. So wonderful and generous... And yes, if we ever have a chance to do this again, we will! Thanks, Meg

A Night at the Sea Cat
A Night at the Sea Cat
Just as the pictures express, this jewel is well appointed with Caribbean charm and furnishings, not to mention the sea views even from the bedroom! The owners were extremely accommodating to allow us just one night as our neighboring cottage was still occupied. The beach feel is a private retreat with snorkeling merely a half minute walk from the lanai or front porch. There is a shy lion fish that lives in Eagle Ray Rock to the right (my son & I named it this after seeing the beautiful spotted Eagle Ray feeding there) and to the left with drift snorkeling we found numerous rocks with corals- some with blue finger corals, purple & yellow sea fans...a summer school of blue tangs, numerous squirrel fish and a shy big guy that we never figured out, lol. Our family hopes to return next year and will include this cottage in our stay :)

We love your lodge!!
Hi Brian, Your place is precious, fantastic in every way! Someone has quite a flair for decorating. We are so very happy to be here and are already regretting our move to Seven Mile Beach. I’d like to stay right here! Oh, well…next year perhaps. We snorkeled this afternoon after we arrived. Heavenly! Sorry Cayman is so far from my home and yours. Sure would be grand to be able to make it here easier and more often! Thanks for renting to us. SO cozy…just perfect for my daughter and me.

Thank You!!!Guest comment entered by owner
Hi Brian, We just wanted to Thank You so much for a wonderful place! We loved the unit and we loved the entire area of Cayman Kai! We took a short visit to Seven Mile (which is beautiful too), but made us really appreciate the "low key" beauty of your area on the island. We enjoyed the beach and snorkeling out front, we came to discover it was one of the best places on the island! We loved Rum Point and enjoyed the long walks in the water! The open air of the sea lodge was just great, and yes there were breezes! Everything was decorated so nicely and we just felt right at home when we got there! We hope to return again!! Thanks so much, Kim and Chad

Most relaxing vacation ever!
Most relaxing vacation ever!
Can't describe how thrilled my husband and I were when we arrived at this little piece of heaven on earth. The accommodations were very comfortable and inviting, beautifully decorated and super clean. The unit offers everything you can possibly need for rest and rejuvenation; ocean views, sounds of the surf and easy access to incredible snorkeling. The coral reef and its occupants were phenomenal! The lanai is perfect for meals, relaxing, reading, and looking at the moon and stars. The unit provides all the necessities to eat in. Some excellent restaurants are very close should you want a change of scenery but it's difficult to leave with the best views right out your back door. Can't describe how very sad my husband and I were to leave this wonderful place. Hoping to go back again next year. But just a warning! A week is not enough! Many thanks to Brian and Dawn for sharing their wonderful place and for all the helpful information, which made this our most, relaxing vacation ever.

- Nearest Airport: Owen Roberts in George Town at 35 Miles
Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: My wife Dawn and I started coming to Grand Cayman in 2000 to scuba dive with our 2 children. We fell in love with the gentle people, perfect climate, and beautiful unspoiled sea. We finally purchased a piece of this paradise in 2010. It is a dream come true. Our cottage is one of 16 that were built as a dive resort in the 1960s on what was the very remote north shore. It has miraculously survived all the developers and is continuously preserved and improved by the very passionate individual owners. There is nothing like it left on Grand Cayman. We love to share it with our guests and receive lots of very positive reviews. We are blessed to have a local Caymanian couple, Miss Barbara and her husband Linsford care for our cottage and guests. They are like family to us! Contact us anytime. We love to discuss this very special place with anyone interested!
