Wow! The description is accurate, but just barely. The unit is that and sooooo much more. The view!!! I think I could stay there forever just watching the waves roll in. There is absolutely nothing to block this fantastic view, the sand dunes are situated perfectly for your unit. We (four May birthday girls) felt so pampered and spoiled staying in your place.....from the tasteful, classy furniture to the perfectly coordinated accent pieces, art, linens, toiletries; it is just beyond what anyone would dare to expect from a rental. I've stayed at the Ritz Carlton and not received such service. We all slept like babies on the wonderfully comfortable beds and woke to the sunrise over the ocean each morning. The kitchen was stocked with everything you need and then some! The location of the complex is perfect, the last one before the water park, so no one to your south at all; yet so close to all the things you want to do on the island. By far, the best rental I have ever chosen, and we've been coming to South Padre Island for many years. I must plug Isabella's or Manuel's for breakfast in Port Isbell; Lost Galleon for lunch/dinner in Port Isbell; Dirty Al's for lunch/dinner (great, a little pricey) on the island. Also, you must go to the birding center next to the Turtle Rescue (after you've been given a tour of the rescue facility of course, people come from all over the world to see the wonderful work done here to rescue the sea turtles!!). All 3 floors have something wonderful to see. And last, but by no means least, Dolphin Docks (Port Isbell) has the best dolphin watch I have ever been on. They know where the dolphins are!!! The others followed us to see them. Great retreat.....the only complaint I have is that we didn't have a month to stay! Sadly though, I must search for a good rental where we can take our fur babies with us...we have two Westies that travel with my husband and I and we're looking to rent for a month at a time in the off season. Pick this condo is you want the very best in all areas!!! Ed and Kathy are great to work with; they respond quickly and answer any questions you may have.

We very much enjoyed our stay on South Padre Island. We are convinced your condo is in the most ideal spot on the island. It was great beach view and such quick, easy access. It had the nicest beach and the kids could step right outside to play in the sand. All other complexes looked to be farther from the beach. It was nice to be able to run back and forth without having to pack everything up. It was also easy access to the pool which was right out the front door. Beach and pool were never crowded. The condo complex was nice in that there were several pools so they didn't get overly crowded and they were heated just perfectly. The condo was spacious and very well stocked. We were super impressed how well stocked it was. We were told there was no crib for the baby and packed our own and found there was one there in the closet (just for future reference). Thanks for providing beach chairs and towels. Beds were comfy and I have a bad back that suffered all week in hotels, but not here. So that is saying a lot. Beautiful ocean views. Beautiful warm weather. We wish we were still there.

The Best Christmas Vacation

I wanted to do something different this year for our Christmas vacation. Something that was family oriented and of course memorable! This was vacation was it! This condo was everything that I'd hoped it was and more. The view from the room was something we could get used to fast! Everything was so clean, so nice and homey! We stayed 6 nights and enjoyed every one of them. The neighbors were very friendly, the island was pleasant and we felt secure and safe. We walked the beach everyday and met some wonderful and interesting people. It will definitely be a vacation that topped the charts for us. Thank you Ed and Cathy for your hospitality! Closing out 2011 on the beach, with our family together was priceless!

My son and I enjoyed our stay in South Padre Island. It was wonderful to walk out the door and be on the beach. The Condo was decorated so beautifully and having morning coffee on the patio was so relaxing. Just hated that our visit had to end so soon. We will definitely include this in our vacation plans in the future.

We loved our vacation and one of our favorite parts was returning to this wonderful condo right by the ocean! We stayed last year for 4 nights and added a few days this year to make it a week. We could have stayed another week or month easily! The condo is so comfortable. It's hard to believe it's not your own home. Every detail is perfect: comfortable beds, lovely linens, every kitchen pot and utensil, beach chairs, a pantry with an assortment of things, and a large washer and dryer. The decor is perfect! The facility is great with a friendly staff. We made plans on the porch to return next year! We loved being able to walk out the door and across the grass to the sand and water. The porch chairs rock too. Our deposit was promptly returned both times. The pictures here are great- but the real experience is better. My favorite activity was the helicopter ride. Lots and lots of great seafood. Shrimp at the local markets are fresh and a great buy. We had fun eating at the table and watching the water. I highly recommend this condo. Well, all I can say is that this exceeded our expectations.....we had never before visited South Padre Island and was totally taken by the beauty of the island, the cleanliness of the island, and the excellent stores and restaurants. Your condo was icing on the cake. You took extra steps to make your guests feel welcome, comfortable, and relaxed. The view is spectacular, my 87 year old Dad thinks you have the best place on the island. The whole complex is well run, clean and gorgeous. We envy you!!!

This condo is WONDERFUL! There is nothing negative that I can say about this place....other than I wish we could have stayed another week. The location is perfect...you can sit and drink coffee in the mornings and watch the waves roll in...when the kids want to go play...the beach is right there. We have been coming to South Padre for about four years now, and have never experienced "crab hunting" at night....my kids begged nightly to go...we had a blast!!! The condo has everything that you need...and the Raposa's have certainly made it feel like a true home when you are there! The property overall is very well kept...they have carts to help you unload...and the pool was perfect and clean! We will no longer have to search for the perfect place to stay...this is it!

Ed & Cathy THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. We had a wonderful 3 day stay at your Sea Vista Condo. Everything was well appointed & comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped with just about anything you could need. The decorating and furnishings were attractive and comfortable. Everything was clean and in good working order. The location & view really is the best. You can watch the sunrise through the floor to ceiling windows without even getting out of bed and be on the beach just a few steps out the door. The patio is nicely sheltered from the wind & sun. We had a great and relaxing time and spent many hours on the patio & beach. Communications with the owners always got quick and helpful responses during the reservation process and our security deposit was refunded within 2 days after we checked out. THANK YOU

The perfect beach getaway on South Padre Island

For anyone looking for a great place to stay in S. Padre Island, this is it. It was everything and more than we expected. Being a ground floor condo was wonderful. just open the door and you're on the beach. The condo was decorated beautifully with every aminity that you could want. All the little thoughful touches made us feel right at home. The owners Ed and Cathy were very gracious in checking with us to make sure everything was in perfect order. We highly reccommend this property and will return and stay longer next time.

Location, Location, Location!

This has to be just about the best location on the whole of South Padre Island! You get the view (just as Ed has shown in the photography taken from the Master bedroom) and you also get the easy access - just stepping out the patio door onto the golden sand! Sea Vista is probably the only Condo that affords this combination as it is probably the only one that doesn't have a huge sand dune between the condo and the sea. As other reviewers have said, it's perfect if you have kids - they can get straight onto the beach while you can relax on the patio. Our kids also enjoyed the pool (which never seems to be overcrowded - and is clean and well maintained), The condo is well equipped, well maintained and very clean. I wouldn't stay anywhere else on SPI!

The Raposa's condo was breathtaking, from the gorgeous view of the beach to the wonderful decor of the condo. It is evident from the moment you enter that they truly make an effort to ensure you feel at home, and have thought of every detail to make your stay wonderful. A truly enjoyable experience! Wow, where to begin...my husband and I and our 3 kids stayed in the Raposa's condo for 5 wonderful nights. The minute we walked into the condo and saw the view, we were absolutely amazed! Once we were able to take our eyes off the beautiful view of the beach and ocean we looked around the condo and were even more amazed at how nice the condo was. The decor is nice and makes you feel right at home the minute you walk in the door. It is well stocked and very clean. Our kids loved having a large room with 2 full beds and of course the tv was an added bonus for them. The master bed room is very spacious and you can't beat waking up in the morning and looking out from the bed to see the gorgeous beach. We traveled with 3 other families and they all were very impressed with our Condo and how nice it was. The convenience of being on the first floor and walking out the back door right onto the beach was perfect for our family, especially with having younger kiddos. My husband and I were able to enjoy sitting on the patio with some wine while we watched our kiddos play in the sand. The condo has a great location on the beach, it was never too crowded and almost felt like a private beach. The swimming pool was an added bonus and a great place to end a full day on the beach. The condo was conveniently located to Schlitterbahn, it took us literally 2 minutes to get there. Overall, we could not have been happier with the Raposa's condo. They were very accomadating and easy to work with and they have done a terrific job on making their condo a great vacation spot for families!

We had a fabulous time at the Raposa's condo! We want to thank them so much for being so thoughful and providing so many nice amenities, things that made us feel at home. The place was so cozy and comfortable and beautifully decorated, I could go on and on. There were six of us, my parents, my two grown daughters and my 3-year old grandson and we had plenty of room to relax and enjoy ourselves. The view and the proximity to the beach was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed the Schlitterbaun waterpark, the beach, the very nice pool and all of the other sights of South Padre Island. We'll be back again soon and I hope the Raposa's condo is available for us. In fact, we will probably plan our next visit around the availabilty of their condo. Better Than Expected!

The condo is set in the perfect spot on the island! Both great restaurants and Schlitterbahn are in walking distance! The first night, we stayed on the patio, drank margaritas and enjoyed the beautiful sunset! It was just me and my husband, but the condo turned out to be so big, we wished we had brought our daughters and another couple (with their kids). The guest bedroom has two double beds, a tv, and the bathroom is a good size. Plus, the couch folds out into a bed. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, and we used the rackets to play tennis! You won't go wrong with this condo! RENT IT!

This condo was perfect for us! The views from the living area and master bedroom were incredible. The location of the condo on the island was so convenient. Since it's close to the bridge, sightseeing in Port Isabel was just as convenient as everything on the island itself. The condo was very clean and we were stunned at all of the ammeneties. It had everything we needed and more. The pool was clean and just a few steps away. And of course, the beach is so close, you can touch it. It was so nice being able to spread out in the condo instead of cramming our family into a hotel room.

I can not even begin to put into words how wonderful your home is and how much we appreciated renting it for the week. The condo is comfortable, stocked wonderfully and so so convenient to the beach. My girlfriend and I stayed at Ed and Kathy's condo in April for 3 days and enjoyed every moment. The location was absolutely perfect, right on the beach, right out the back door. For those of you who love the sound of the ocean crashing on the beach, this one is for you. The condo had everything that we needed and having a heated pool and hot-tub in the complex was an added bonus. We really enjoyed our time there and didn't want to come home. It was fantastic!!

The drive from the Chicago area to this wonderful condo was well worth it. The location on the beach is wonderful-only a few steps across a soft deep sand beach to the water. This condo is very well equipped and has very nice décor with extras for making it a warm home away from home. The free internet service was appreciated. One week was just not enough.

The Raposa's condo is absolutely the best! We have stayed on South Padre several times over the years and have never stayed in a more comfortable condo with such great beach access. It has all the small touches that set it apart from the rest. Just having the little dishes on the dresser and nightstands to throw my watch and jewelry in put a smile on my face every day. The beach access can't be beat. With two little boys, 3 and 5, we could send them out to play in the sand while we sat relaxing on the patio. The staff at the condo was also very friendly. My thoughts when I first walked through the door & into the kitchen was WOW!! We had never rented from an owner before, so we were a little nervous. If I thought the pictures of the ocean were "too good to be true", they were even better! What a treat to wake up in the morning & have that view right outside our window & to have our morning coffee on the patio just steps from the water. Inside was just as good...a very clean & well taken care of home. The owners were so helpful with their driving instructions, places to eat, & things to do. We can't wait to come back for a longer stay.

This is truly the most wonderful vacation rental we have ever had the privilege to enjoy. We couldn't believe our eyes when we saw the pictures on the website and were must more pleasantly surprised when we arrived. This condo is everything they said it would be and MUCH MUCH MORE! We visited in the middle of November and upon our arrival home, we immediately looked at the schedule to possible return at Christmas time. You will not be disappointed. we go to south padre every year and without a doubt, this condo was the best weve ever stayed in...we went off season, the location was great, it was quiet and peacefull...it was all it was said to be and much, much more...im not telling when we usually go on vacation because i want to book it again next year! the view waking up every morning was spectacular, the walk to the beach was short, the pool and hot tube were wonderfull, but the location was awesome.

What a great vacation spot. We have lived near SPI most of our lives and the location of this condo is excellent. It is situated in a seculed section of beach right in the middle of all the action. Close to the water park, the jetties(where the dolphins play), close to major hotels and all the hottest local restaurants. The great thing is it is a small complex so it is very exclusive. We enjoyed the closeness to the beach something rare on SPI. Very few condos are this close to the beach. The other great feature is that it is a ground floor condo, so there are no stairs to carry beach gear down, and no dunes to climb over. This is a very unique property and I would highly recommend it!

My family and I stayed here over the Labor Day Holiday, and all we can say is WOW! We were very impressed with this condo, it has everything you could need. It's the best placed we have stayed at by far. What better way to wake up in the morning to a beautiful ocean view and then be able to walk right out onto the beach. Perfect vacation spot for my surfer family! Spectacular blue clean Gulf waters with plenty of fun swell. This place is AMAZING--The condo was a perfect place to stay my 3 teenagers and my mother voiced that they couldn't believe how beautiful it was. WOW! What a wonderful place. We think this is the best location in South Padre because it is at the end of the condo/hotel chain and aids in more beach space. Also very close beach access. We had a wonderful time at this condo, the view and access to the beach is like no other on the island. The kids loved the pool, also very easy access since the condo is on the 1st floor. We can't wait to go back next year! Thanks Raposa Family for sharing your lovely place.

Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed your condo on Padre. It was exactly as you described. Your many personal touches and well stocked items made the condo much more than just a rental but immediately made you feel at home. We had medical issues with my Dad and ended up paying the island medical clinic a visit twice (second time just a follow-up). My Dad's problems made an overnight turnaround upon a change in medication prescribed by Ernie the PA he saw. Overall very impressed with his knowledge and care. The weather could not have been more perfect (maybe a tad too much wind) but temperature wise perfect. Loved the remodel work done in bathrooms and the new cabinetry. My husband has a custom cabinet business that does the same quality work as your vanities were. My only suggestion is that the beds in the back bedroom would be more comfortable for adults if they were at least queen size but I know you have limitations due to space. We took a ride on the pirate ship (printed online coupons for a good discount) and would highly recommend it (especially for those with children) but even the adults were entertained. It was especially exciting when we spotted a small group of dolphins. It was my husband’s first ever real vacation and he is 47 years old. His favorite thing to do was sit on the patio and read while listening to the ocean although we did get him on the ship after 2 Dramamines. He said driving up and back "This is too far to drive" and sounded as though he would not return but a day later his words had changed to "if we go back I want to....." , so sounds hopeful. WOW! What an amazing view....What a fabulous condo. Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed your condo on Padre. It was exactly as you described. The property had been completely renovated and was lovely with many upscale elements. Your many personal touches and well stocked items made the condo much more than just a rental, but immediately made us feel at home. The location was perfect. We drank coffee on the patio overlooking the beach every morning and gazed at the stars every night. The ground floor was awesome. We were able to walk out the patio door, onto a little grass, then directly onto the beach's white sand. What a way for us to spend a month away from the Midwest winters. It was a pleasure working with you and staying at your condo. Thanks to you, we have found our second home. We have already reserved a full month for 2010.

What an amazing view! Everything was exceptionally clean and the master bed was so comfortable we contacted the owner so we could buy the same mattress. We went for our anniversary, so it was just my husband and I. Although it was a very romantic view, it was a great layout to bring kids too. The room is towards the back with two twin beds. We would love to stay at the Sea Vista again. The only part we weren't crazy about was that the TV wasn't in the bedroom. You could see it from the bedroom, but it was pretty far away. Also, the remote wasn't working, even after we changed the batteries. It turned out fine though. We just went in the kids bedroom to watch TV. We normally wouldn't care to watch TV at the beach, but it was raining. I would highly recommend Sea Vista.

We stayed here for a week in October of 2008 and loved it. The owner had just completed remodeling the unit and did a terrific job! New granite countertops throughout, updated bathroom decor and new carpet and tile. The access to the beach can't be beat (it's right off the ground floor patio) and was close to the Sandcastle Days competition. It's also easy to get to from the causeway linking the island to the mainland. The owner was very accommodating regarding payment options, creating a PayPal account at our request. We definitely plan on staying there again.

We stayed here with our parents and 2 babies in Oct. the view was breathtaking the condo was beautifully updated and we were ready to move in. We drank coffee on the patio overlooking the beach every morning and gazed at the stars every night. Even saw a shooting star one night. The children were so comfortable here and it was very relaxing for the adults. It was in a perfect location as well. Close to everything you'd want to do. We plan on going back as soon as we can.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon in November, 08. From the time we walked through the door and peeked down the hall at the ocean view, all we kept saying was WOW!!! The master bedroom has a floor to ceiling view out to the beach and ocean...so each morning we would awake to a beautiful sunrise...sheer heaven!!! The living room and kitchen also have full ocean views. Since the unit is ground floor, we just walked out the back door to the beach...what a convenience. The owners (The Raposa's) keep the condo in excellent condition with top quality bedding and furnishings. Also, the condo is stocked with everything we could possibly think of including dvd's, cd's, games, candles, flashlights, etc. This place doesn't feel like a rental condo...it feels like a home. The pool and jacuzzi are a short walk away and everything is very convenient. Our honeymoon was a very special time for us and we're so happy we chose this place...we will definately be back!

We could walk right out the back door on to the beach...fantastic views of the beach and ocean. This condo is very well maintained...everything was in great shape. Kitchen was fully stocked and had all the amenities. Condo complex was very peaceful and quiet. Nice pool and jacuzzi on site. Lot's of nice restaurants around. Unit had a washer/dryer which was very useful. Great bedding and very tastefully decorated Couldn't have had a better vacation experience!

Recommended for:Families with young children, romantic getaway.
