We came for a conference and this is the first time we have used home away.com. In a word the condo was great. As we travel extensively, we have seen our share of pretty photos which do not correspond to the actual property. This is not the case here. The condo was clean, well maintained, comfortable and secure. It is located 2 blocks from a Metro station and has many restaurants that are within walking distance. It was a 15 minute walk to the convention center and a short walk to many DC attractions. I would recomend this listing to anyone who is visiting the area. Ben was helpful and provided excellent instructions.
Owner response:Dear C., We're Glad to hear you enjoyed your visit and found our property to be worthy of good note. This is helpful to future guest who want to choose our property over the next. To show appreciation to our return guest, we gladly offer a discount off of the current advertised rate on all future visits with us. All the best, Ben

My girlfriend and I rented Ben's downtown DC condo for a week and we simply loved it...the location was close to everything we needed and loads of restaurants and shopping. We walked to everything and the Metro was very close and easily accessed as well. The condo was secure, well-appointed and perfect for our stay.

Upon walking into the property, I was relieved to see that it was exactly as pictured as advertised. It was spotless, just the way I like it! This property was well taken care of and it showed. Ben provided all the information I needed to get in and begin our great adventure. He and I communicated once in the evening regarding use of the dishwasher. He came the next morning to flip a switch under the sink to supply power - wow, how attentive is that? He had lots of information regarding public transportation and history of the buidling itself - he is a very personable guy - thank you Ben!!! When you go - don't forget to go up to the roof top and see the view, it was beautiful - also check out the second floor library/lounge - it was very classy. This was my second trip to DC, when I come again, this is where I want to stay, if all my friends don't get to it first (maybe I should keep this gem a secret!) Once my daughter and I got tired of walking, we ventured out and started using public transportation. The Metro lines, the Metro buses, and the Circulator took us everywhere we wanted to go from DC Cupcakes in Georgetown (Circulator) to the Basilica for the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception (Red Line to Glenmont -- Brookland stop) and even the Westfield Montgomery Mall (Red Line to Medical Center, then Metro Bus J2). We also took the Red Line to the Zoo, which you don't want to miss! We rode out to Chevy Chase to pick up my son from JrNYLC at the 4-H Conference Center (Red Line to Friendship Heights, then Metro Bus L8) - That saved us $27 in cab fare each way. We even rode the Yellow Line to the Airport without a problem! What I'm saying is that with this property's location - transportation is a snap! All in all, our trip was a complete success and a real adventure - and the rental property was just the place to come back to after 6 long days of sightseeing! Don't miss out on this "National Treasure" - it is the place to be!!!

This property was just as listed...no surprises! We especially loved that it was close to the Metro and that so many buses pick up right out front...very little wait time. We did not rent a car (a first for us), but did not need one, thanks to the D.C. Metro system and the easy access this property provides. My husband and I were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary in Washington D.C. and this is certainly a vacation we will always remember. We would recommend this location to anyone planning a visit to this area.

Easy access directions once we arrived. The listing description was accurate. Good location to all of the attractions D.C. has to offer. Walked everywhere. Quiet, including, never heard from Ben, but we never needed him either. Clean. Well maintained. No laundry soap, wash cloths or toilet paper as promised -- make sure you bring some. Whole Foods was wonderful for most of our eating, however, all restaurants in the area we tried were great also. Really enjoyed the coziness of a studio and found the kitchen a plus over staying in a motel room. Wonderful to have access to a washer and dryer. We would recommend this property to anyone. Enjoyed the stay and will consider Home Away again in our future travels.

This is an excellent venue for a stay in central Washington DC that meets a variety of needs. It is sparklingly clean and an efficient layout that is quiet and comfortable like home. Access is great to the sights but with easy walking proximity to groceries (Whole Foods) or excellent and varied dining opportunities. I vote with my wallet and I am a return visitor. I really do not see how you could go wrong or do better. I will return.

I had never used Homeaway before and wasn't too sure what to expect, but this property ticked all of the boxes! It was central to everything we wanted to see. It was clean, quiet, spacious (although a queen bed would be welcomed instead of the double) and modern. It was so good to be able to cook our own meals, and the convenience store nearby had most provisions that we may have forgotten to bring with us. Great restaurants all within a 5 minute walk, and rooftop terrace gave some great views over the city. The owner made it a breeze to access the studio (directions to find it, and get the keys were spot-on). I will DEFINITELY choose this property again next time I stay in Washington DC - and so should you.

This compact studio is very well equipped, well maintained and exactly as outlined in the listing description. We rented it for 4 nights as a welcome respite from living in hotel rooms (though bed not as big) and were able to 'live normally' ie. cook as if at home, wash, iron, wake up to freshly brewed coffee, use the internet etc. as well as pop out to local tourist attractions. In general it was immensely quiet, with the exception of something sounding like a refuse collection lorry arriving around 6am each morning. To sit on the roof top area for an early evening drink was very relaxing. This is the second time we have used HomeAway and just as our first experience, we would very happily recommend this apartment to singles/couples and would definitely rent it again if we were to return to Washington.

This was a great deal, we stayed with friends for one week. The place was smaller than we expected, but super clean. It was very close to metro, 2 blocks, cvs is accros the street if you forget anything. We walked to tons of restaurant,a different one each night. We did not cook, but it had everything to cook if w had chosen to.
