Cherry Point is a versatile multi-generation waterfront vacation home on Maryland's Eastern Shore. It is a nature lover's paradise where at any given time one will see guinea hens, wild turkeys, and many of the other 250 species of birds that call this home. We are only a few miles from the Blackwater Natural Wildlife Sanctuary with its many bike and foot trails and we have a 1200 foot waterfront on Fishing Creek where local watermen are crabbing or oystering each day from sunrise to shortly after noon.
The dining room seats six at the children's table and 12 at the adults' table. The playroom in the poolside annex has a ping pong table, sofa, lounge chairs, etc. The living room has a screen for slides or motion pictures. Ramps make the poolside, screened porch and entire first floor(with its 2 bedrooms and handicap-accessible baths) wheelchair accessible.
Cherry Point is a family vacation playground, from the swing set, and sandbox to the lighted tennis court and swimming pool (with poolside shower), and baseball field with equipment for baseball, softball, volleyball, lacrosse, soccer, horseshoes, croquet, and Frisbee golf. Along the 1200 foot waterfront are a deep-water dock, a floating sports dock for the surf bikes, paddleboat, and canoe, and toys for the children's beach. The family room has a children's library and toys along with a large assortment of picture puzzles and rainy day games.
The annex has ping pong, darts, miniature golf, a puppet stage, and dress-up collection. The bunkroom now has two double-deckers, a VCR player and a large selection of children's tapes. The house is equipped with a high chair, bedside rails, and stair guards for toddlers, and for the oldsters, three refrigerators and a poolside grill. Cooking, catering, and cleaning services are optional, as are hunting and fishing guides.

Why the Owner Chose Cambridge
We sail; Cruising the Chesapeake is the bible of the Chesapeake sailer and they said that Cherry Point is one of the finest anchorages on the Chesapeake. I learned that Cherry Point was for sale and bought it the day before the great-grandson of a previous owner arrived from Chicago to purchase it.
The Unique Benefits at this House & Poolside Annex
Family tennis tournaments, 3 generation street hockey games on the tennis court, frizbee golf, using the metal-detector down where McKeel's dock was used to unload materials taken from captured British ships, searching for indian artifacts, enjoying the Blackwater National Wildlife Sanctuary, etc.

Both Susan and I grew up in families that took "family vacations." We wanted our kids and grandkids to have the same kind of vacation but with 22 of us we could not afford the resorts. We found and bought this old 2-bedroom farmhouse on a SPECTACULAR piece of land, rebuilt it to fit our purposes and have been able to enjoy watching the grandkids become very close with each other even though they live from NJ to SC. Our long term renters have enjoyed Cherry Point as much have we so much so that last year one family, during their regular week had a waterfront marriage ceremony for their daughter and had so many guests staying in Cambridge that the guests got a convention discount.

We have been having family reunions for 27 years at many different places. This was one of the best houses ever. We loved it!! We'll be back!! A great house for a family reunion...from the youngest (two years) to the oldest (me - eighty-seven)...always a choice of activities. What a perfect place for a summer vacation. I don't think we sat still for a minute. What an incredible home!!! The whole clan had a wonderful time...three families from England and Wales, two from New York, and our crowd from San Francisco.
