AMAZING! The cabin was a place like no other, perfectly combining the 1800s cabin with the modern conveniences. It couldn't be decorated more delightfully. You can tell a lot of thought and love have gone into this charming cabin. It had everything we needed, and it very quickly felt like home. The creek was enjoyable, as were the walking trails, which are literally right outside the cabin, which sits atop a hill. The Big Canoe community is immaculate and pleasing to the eye at every turn. We loved our stay...all 6 of us!

Wonderful Cabin

We spent two relaxing days with friends in this beautiful cabin. The setting is beautiful, and the owners have done a wonderful job of retaining the authenticity of the cabin, as well as adding every modern convenience. The antiques are simply amazing. We loved playing cards and games at the unique dining table. The weather was warm enough that we could open the windows and listen to the creek. The screened back porch is a great place to enjoy the beauty of the property while listening to the creek. We would definitely recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a relaxing get-away.

Though the drive to the property once in Big Canoe is a bit daunting, it was worth every twist and turn. The cabin is spacious, cozy and inviting. While there's no single large area for larger families to gather, the reading nooks and charm are endless. One under stated advantage of this property is its proximity to wonderful hiking trails and nearby waterfalls. Our boys loved the adventures and we loved the relaxation.

A Great Place to Relax

We rented this charming cabin 3 years ago for a wedding and liked it so much that we rented it again when another Big Canoe wedding came up. We built a big fire (gas starter & and some wood on the porch), and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Even though the cabin is 150 years old, it has been updated in just the right places to make it comfortable. You can sit by the fire, or enjoy the view from the screened porch, or take advantage of the hiking trail that passes by a short stroll away. We also found that we could use the excellent fitness center for $12/day. Highly recommended.

What an awesome cabin! I joined five great friends from design school (now interior designers) for a weekend retreat and have to say this cabin is the most unique I have seen in all of Big Canoe. The owners have done an amazing job with this place, so much character and attention paid to every detail. We spent our nights cooking in the wonderful kitchen and afterwards chatting it up in front of the roaring fire in the fireplace. The weather was awsome and the foilage was at its peak. We enjoyed lunch at the club, hiking on the trails and boating on late Petit. I would highly recommend Big Canoe and this cabin to anyone looking for a great retreat. Our group is already anticipating a return trip next year.

Great Cabin

Our stay in Jay's cabin at was most delightful. Everything was in apple pie order when we arrived. (not a good idea to arrive after dark if you are not VERY familiar with the road) The decor of the cabin is really unique, there is something new to notice each day, The area is extremely peaceful and serene, an ideal spot for a relaxing break from everyday happenings. We enjoyed our meals at the Moutain Grille (recommended by Jay) and the Black Bear Pub, both are at the clubhouse. We ate early so as to avoid driving the curvy roads after dark. The nearby Sharps Vineyards are well worth a visit. We enjoyed a wine tasting and a picnic in their pavillion. The Falls at Amicalola State Park are also another must while in the area.

From the moment we drove into the main gate, we felt as though we had left the worries of the world behind and stepped into God's country. What a breath-taking setting for this absolutely lovely cabin! Our family has camped all over the country. We have traveled through State and US National Parks, seeking the solace of trees and communion with God. As nature-lovers, we were particularly enchanted by this place, and couldn't believe we could find such utter privacy and raw wilderness so conveniently close to civilization and so near to home! And the cabin is a stunner; an unexpected blend of old-world craftsmanship and eccletic antiques with every conceivable modern convenience. Bring your family and friends...you will love this place!

4 GENERATIONS

Our family of four generations had a great time here. We swam, played golf, hiked, and just had quality family time. The highlight of our visit was watching a mother bear and her 3 cubs for 2 hours from the front porch. The cabin has all the modern conveniences you need. You will have to drive about 20 minutes to get out of the development. This is a great retreat if you can make your own entertainment. The owners are on call for any problems. Our TV did not work and they personally delivered a new one within an hour.A very unique experience. Our only big surprise/disappointment - there is no place to sit and enjoy the surroundings- no deck but a very nice screened in porch. There was plenty of room for all nine of us! There is a wonderful kitchen tabke for meals, games and family time. I hope to return for a fall visit!

Our family recently spent the weekend in this unique mix of old and new cabin. We had a great time and it was fun to look at all the antiques and it's loaded with charm. We were also impressed with Jay the owner, he took care of our every need. He even made our golf reservations for us. We would recommend this cabin.

We absolutely loved our stay at the cabin! We were in desperate need for some R&R and this was the perfect place to get it. So quiet and calm. We sat on the screened back porch during a rainstorm and just drank in the calm. We love to cook, and enjoyed the gorgeous modern kitchen - it felt like Tuscany! We enjoyed every little detail, and have already recommended this place to several friends!

We had a wonderful time at this rental in Big Canoe! We spent a fall weekend with friends enjoying all this cabin has to offer. The details of this cabin are amazing; we spent much of the weekend admiring the blend of rustic and modern decor. The screen porch is a great place to spend a few hours relaxing and you have everything you would ever need inside. The kitchen table is very large with plenty of room for everyone to gather around. We definitely plan to go back and I would recommend this rental to anyone!

We stayed in this beautiful cabin and had a wonderful time. It is rustic, but elegant at the same time. It has the feel of an old mountain home with the warmth of modern technology and appliances.
