We were worried about staying at a new place since we have always stayed in Kapalua but, this condo exceeded our expectations! Thoughtfully furnished with 2 lanias every amenity you needed or wanted, our family of four was very comfortable and enjoyed our stay. The grounds were beautiful and the pools and beach access were superb! We like dbeing so close to Wailea and Kiehi as we could shop, eat and enjoy our choice of beaches and restaurants. Do no miss Makena Beach, only a 15 minute drive from condo, it is the best!! Thanks Deb for such a wonderful time and sharing your piece of paradise with us!

What A Great Place

My wife and I just got back from our trip to beautiful Maui. We had the pleasure of staying in Ekahi Village and the unit was just as promised. The owner keeps boogie boards, large towels, and a beach umbrella in the unit for everyone's enjoyment. The Ekahi Village is very well maintained and has beautiful lush floral landscaping. While I was there I learned Ekahi means #1. We enjoyed ocean views from our bedroom lanai and a short 3-4 minute walk to the beach daily. The first day we arrived we met our neighbors; they were kind enough to tell us where to go for the best view of the sunset and shared some local island knowledge about snorkeling (Turtle Town) and kayaking. Also had a chance to play some golf and I would recommend the Dunes at Maui Lani what an amazing course. Thanks Deb, we'll be back.

Beautiful condo in the exclusive part of Maui

Just returned after a short stay in the condo and firstly were impressed with the size of the unit. The grounds are immaculate and all the amenities of home are available to the renter,even beach chairs and surf boards to use on the pristine ocean beach. The oceanside path takes one through Wailea and the scenery is outstanding. A short walk (drive) takes you to "The world famous "Blue course" which all golfers must play at least once. 2 balconies overlook the grounds and most meals are enjoyed on the south one. We will recommend this unit to all our friends. Thank you Deborah for making it so welcoming.

Recommended for:Sightseeing, girls getaway, age 55+.

Loved my stay!

Just returned from our 5th stay at 36D (and it definitely won't be my last!). This unit is lovely, especially since the renos. The kitchen is clean, bright and has all the amenities one could want. We were with my toddler son, and he had a blast! The 2-3min walk down the beautiful grassy hill to the pool/beach was a highlight for him. We could see the whales jumping, stop to smell and pick up the plumeria flowers, and just generally have fun strolling down the hill. The pools are clean and warm.....and the beach....well, its one of the nicest i've ever been to! The residents and guests of Ekahi are always kind, and this is time with my son, everyone was exceptionally friendly. There is some road noise during the day, but we didn't spend much time indoors. And with the bedroom at the other end of the unit there was no noise while sleeping ( a plus for my son's afternoon naps!) We'll of course be back! We really enjoy this unit and have always received pleasant service from the owner. Mahalo!

Nice but NOISY

Overall the unit was what we expected - comfortable bed, new kitchen, etc. The Ekahi Village on the whole is a nice property with great views, access to the beach and nice swimming pools. However, to our amazement we were NOT informed that there would be a three month major renovation project going on below this unit through September 2010! Loud hammering, sawing and other construction noise filled our unit from 8 am to 5 pm during work days. When we contacted the owner regarding this noisy situation, she was unsympathetic and hadn't felt it was necessary to inform us of this NOISE prior to booking the unit! This was especially frustrating because we had saved all spring to take a "babymoon" and being 8 months pregnant, I sleep a lot these days (I had mentioned my pregnancy to the owner prior to booking and she still didn't inform us of the construction noise despite several email exchanges before our trip). BTW, this "on beach" condo is a 10 minute walk to the actual beach and has limited views of the ocean. The major view from this unit is of a 4 lane street with buses, garbage trucks and general traffic most of the time. We loved Ekahi Village and will be back, but most definitely not to this particular unit. There are plenty of other rentals on site.

Owner response:Our fully renovated condo has a rental price reflecting its location at the complex.Various units at ekahi do major renovations from time to time. Ekahi is a Maui favorite and the beach, pools and gardens are spectacular. We strive to provide an excellent vacation home and environs for all. We aren't perfect, but have been fortunate to have had many positive and satisfied customers for the past 22 years.
