This home on the North East River is available as a full house or as separate upstairs or downstairs units. The property is set between Seneca and Carpenters Points, on the northern end of a small seven cottage community. The river and tidal creek provide seclusion on three sides. Bald eagles, great blue herons, ospreys, wood ducks, mallards, river turtles, beavers, deer and foxes are abundant. We also have 19 undeveloped acres of woods and marsh adjacent to the property for exploring.
Boaters like to anchor in the shallows just up the beach. We have a dinghy, kayak, canoe, and Sunfish available for your use in season. Our mooring can accomodate boats up to 30'. The deep waters of the upper Chespeake are minutes away at Turkey Point, along with the shallows of the Susquehanna Flats, just around the tip of Carpenters Point.
As a whole, the house has five bedrooms and sleeps 11 in beds. It has 2 kitchens, 2 baths, 2 living rooms, two upper decks, and a large lower deck. Of course, renting the full home guarantees exclusive use of the entire property. Washers and dryers are located both upstairs and down. Both floors have private entrances, but an adjoining door accesses both units when opened. There are plenty of chairs in the yard to sit and enjoy the view or watch your children play.
The downstairs has only two bedrooms but is slightly larger than the upstairs. The front bedroom has a beautiful view through the sliding glass doors which access the riverside deck. The back bedroom sleeps 3 in a full/bunk bed combination. A new kitchen, bathroom and living/dining room round out the first floor. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, vessel sink and granite countertop. The lower front deck has a gas grill, adirondack chairs, a table for 4 with umbrella and a chaise lounge.
The upstairs features a large living room/dining room, one bath, and sleeps 6 in three bedrooms with a king, full and a twin with a trundle beds, respectively. The front balcony complete with grill, picnic table with umbrella and a bistro table overlooks the river. The very private rear balcony looks over the creek and marsh and has wrought-iron seating for two.
