The Photos Don't Do It Justice!

My boyfriend and I stayed in the cabin for three nights mid-week in early October 2011, as a sweet little romantic getaway from New York City, and it was just beautiful! The photos do not do it justice - it's way cuter and homier than it looks in these images. Plus the shower is just to die for - a wagon wheel hung over a stone basin? Genius! We had great fun interacting with Beth and all the dogs, chickens and horses - we only wish we could have stayed longer. Our only complaint is that the shower didn't seem to want to maintain consistent water temperature; it flashed from hot to cold. But it was still usable, and we understand that Tim is pretty handy, so we're sure it's an easy fix.

I spent a month here with my two and four year olds. The cabin, the farm and the whole hudson valley are a beautiful place to stay. We relaxed, visited near by towns like New Platz, Kingston and Woodstock, swam in the rivers, hiked, and picked our own berries. There is a never ending supply of beauty, things to do or ways to relax. And to make the stay even better, the owners, Tim and Beth are graciouse, welcoming and made our stay even more special. They were full of surprises for my kids like sand boxes, rope swings and letting my kids help with the animals. We had a magical time in the cowboy cabin and with Tim and beth

Delightful hosts and comfy cowboy cabin!

We had a great time during our weekend visit with our 2 and 1/2 year old son. Beth and Tim went out of their way to help us city folk enjoy our time in the country! The cabin was great - intentionally rustic but lacking not a single comfort... and we loved the cowboy motif and the wagon wheel shower!. Our son was over the moon about helping Beth to feed the horses, chickens, and bunnies. And, he loved frolicking with the dogs and cats - especially the puppy. As if that was not enough, we also joined Beth and Tim and their friends for a bonfire, AND Tim took our son for a ride around the property on his John Deere tractor. Beth and Tim were wonderful hosts and the cowboy cabin was a wonderful weekend escape from the City. In addition to all of the activity on the farm, we also spent a great day hiking at the Mohonk preserve and ventured into New Paltz several times. We will definitely be back! Thanks!
Owner response:Thank you so much for the amazing review! We enjoyed spending time with you. I hadn't realized that I had wanted an orange until you showed up with them, oranges never tasted so good. We look forward to seeing all of you again. -Beth & Tim

I Hadn't Thought of Staying on a Farm, But...

I needed a place to stay last summer, and Country and Farm had the last available lodgings, due to a film being shot all over the area. I arrived at the Farm in early June from NYC with a carload of stuff plus cat, waiting to take possession of my new home near Woodstock. What with renovations etc., I ended up staying at the Farm until the end of September. I had an unexpected--and happy--experience. Beth and Tim bent over backwards (easy for Beth, being a dancer) to tend to my every need and I in turn had fun digging up the dirt and planting my own veggies. And of course, the critters: two friendly, lolloping dogs that took care of all my leftovers, three "free range" horses ambling up the driveway to greet me when I arrived, an assortment of chickens and rabbits, and a perky little cat that liked to take walks. I remember them all fondly. Highly recommended, especially if you have kids.
