Why the Owner Chose Flagstaff

We started vacationing in Arizona in the mid 1990's and FELL IN LOVE with the beauty of this state - especially Sedona and the Grand Canyon. We moved to Arizona from the midwest eight years ago and have never regretted it. But, the summers are very hot in the desert so we started venturing to northern Arizona during the summer months and discovered the cooler temperatures of the Flagstaff area. We bought our place in this area because of the quaintness and the abundance of pine trees, without being far away from public services - such as city water and sewer, a fire station (very important), and friendly neighbors. The proximity to Sedona, Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon is wonderful because our place is located just minutes from I-17 and you can get anywhere quickly. We love spending time in our cabin get-away and hope to spend alot more time there after we retire. But for now, we hope YOU enjoy it as much as we do.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin

You will be 35-40 minutes from Sedona and 15-20 minutes (straight up I-17) to Flagstaff. The south rim of the Grand Canyon is 1-1/2 hours away. Our cabin is charming and cozy - we keep it well-maintained and stocked with extras for your convenience. If you walk out at dark and look up at the sky, you will see stars like you've never seen before. The deck on the front is 500 square feet and it is where you will spend most of your time! It is also not uncommon to see several Elk just standing along the empty lots on the main road that runs through Munds. That's why we love it!

Amazingly Comfortable! Great Owners!

Guest: Vernon and Jen (Tucson, AZ)
Date of Stay: 10/01/10 Review Submitted: 09/08/11

This wonderful place is as beautiful as the pictures show. We loved spending time with our 3 year old son out on the deck and running in between the pine trees. The owners were so wonderful and caring that they even called us to make sure we were okay after an unusually large storm passed our way. We enjoyed many nights watching T.V. and cooking in the kitchen. The leaves turned color while we were there and this cabin was the perfect retreat. We loved eating at the Lone Pine Restaraunt which quickly became our favorite little place to get great sandwiches and Cheese Crisps! We absolutely loved these owners and their beautiful "Cabin in the Pines." Thank you so much! We will definitely be recommending this place to our friends and family.

Owner response:Thanks so much - we loved having you and hope you will come again!

Great Place to Stay!

Guest: Cwhite (Tucson)
Date of Stay: 06/18/11 Review Submitted: 06/29/11

Cabin was great and sitting on the deck was one of the best parts of our vacation. Munds Park was a great place to stay - I love it there. Great location - so close to Flagstaff, Oak Creek Canyon and Sedona. We were able to have a short drive to all the places we wanted to visit and then come back to the cabin which was in a secluded and beautiful neighborhood. Like I said above I enjoyed sitting on the deck every night and we were able to eat dinner out there as well. The cabin had everything I could ask for. I also enjoyed laying on the couch and relaxing :)

Owner response:Thanks so much!! I hope you will stay at our place again. I give a 10% discount to previous renters!

Nothing but good things to say about this rental and its location! Fantastic location and a wonderful place with many extras. We enjoyed Sedona (2 days), the Grand Canyon, Oak Creek Canyon, Sunset Crater and the surrounding ruins and ran out of time before we ran out of things to do. Easy drives to everything! Wonderful owners who were very nice and easy to work with. Oh and did I mention the extras included in the home, and the very nice call from the owners to check on us and make sure all was right! These 2 southerners will definitely return :)!

Great Honeymoon Stay

Guest: dlynn (Seattle, WA)
Date of Stay: 09/27/10 Review Submitted: 10/13/10

This was the last stop on our southwest honeymoon and we had a great time. We enjoyed so many great sites and experiences nearby: rented bikes and rode to Hermit's Rest at the Grand Canyon (have them pump up your tires!); Walnut Canyon cliff dwellings; Sunset Crater and Wupatki Pueblo ruins (gotta check out the blowhole, it was amazing!); Jerome and Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon and downtown Flagstaff (try Criollo restaurant and the Beaver St. Brew Pub if I've got the name right). We also stopped at the Meteor Crater on the way to Flagstaff, and the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest. Such a wonderful area full of fun things to do in and out of town.

Excellent house in an excellent location

A very nice house, comfortable, clean, well furnished, very quiet in a good location, handy for lots of sightseeing, and with very very helpful owners. We'd certainly recommend it to others. As for activities - in addition to the Grand Canyon and Flagstaff, we'd like to recommend Canyon de Chelly, the Verde Canyon Railroad, and, in summer, the Scenic Skyride in Flagstaff. Arizona has a lot to offer, and we enjoyed every minute of it.

Fantastic Home away from Home

Guest: R&J (Bothell, WA)
Date of Stay: 09/18/10 Review Submitted: 09/27/10

We just wanted to say thank you for allowing us to enjoy your home last week. It was perfect. You've created a lovely oasis for those of us who aren't fortunate to live in your state. The house was very comfortable and well stocked with a lot of items we wouldn't have expected, like tin foil, saran wrap, tea, sugar even Olive Oil. We didn't spend a lot of time at the cabin, but what time we did spend felt like home. We loved exploring the area and although we've come home exhausted, we're completely satisfied with all we saw and did. We took your advice and chose not to go to the Petrified Forest (another ranger made the comment that people were 'underwhelmed' by the experience). We drove the Oak Creek Canyon road into Sedona that day instead. (and 2 other times...we really loved the Red Rocks) Our Grand Canyon River Adventures was amazing...and we'd highly recommend any of your renters to consider that tour as it gave us every possible angle of the Canyon since we'd driven the Desert View Drive the day before. Sunset Crater and Wupatki Monument were also wonderful. We ended our time with a sunset over Cathedral Rock (one of the 'hike's listed in your books). Amazing. Thanks again. We'll be sure to recommend your home to our friends. R&J

Owner response:Thanks for renting our cabin and for the great comments on the wonderful things to do in the area!

Date of Stay: 04/23/10 Review Submitted: 05/05/10

My husband and I and another couple staying in the cabin and it is wonderful. The area is very well located to Sedona and Phoenix and sits in a quaint community of upscale cabins on a beautiful mountain. The two bedrooms are roomy and very nice. All the comforts of home. We even grilled out one night. I would highly recommend this rental.

Good location, comfortable cabin

Guest: Kotdyers (Brooklyn, NY)
Date of Stay: 03/28/10 Review Submitted: 04/09/10

My family had an excellent experience staying here and would recommend it as a good base for exploring north central Arizona. The location puts you within easy striking distance of the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Flagstaff and points farther north (we went up to Monument Valley) The owners were responsive and generous with information and tips about the area. Cabin was immaculately clean when we arrived, beds were comfortable, heat worked well and the kitchen is well stocked and appointed. Two full bathrooms is a nice plus if you have several people. The internet worked just fine. You'll need to stock up on food about 20 minutes away in Flagstaff and if going in the winter may want to check in advance to ensure the fireplace is available for use.
