Papoose is all that a lakefront home should be. There is plenty of room to relax together with your family and friends or go and find that little spot to call your own for a while. The home has a wonderful deck that overlooks the beautiful waters of Lake Martin. The water in front of the home is very deep and usually quiet with the main channel just one bend away.
The home has recently changed owners and has received the royal treatment. New paint, furniture, and bedding make the home fresh and inviting.
This home has a poker table, bumper pool table, great views, a wonderful sun deck, a cool shady screened porch, a private balcony, kids bunk room, two living areas, a kitchen with buffet style accomodations, and deep water all year long. - This beautiful home features deep water year round. Eight feet of water rests at the end of the floating dock even at the lakes lowest point. The home as just recently been painted and features new furniture and luxurious bedding throughout. The kitchen includes a bar with makes preparing buffet style meals a breeze. The master bedroom features a lounging area that overlooks the lake and a private balcony. A screened-in-porch will allow you to take in the beautiful sunsets with no worries. A poker/bumper billiard table will keep the good times rolling well into the night. This is truly a great lake front home and a great vacation find.

Off season: September 6 to March 31 : $1295/wk or rent by the night, 2 night min.
Early Summer: May 1 to May 26 : $1995/wk or rent by the night, 4 night min.
Peak Summer: May 27 to July 31 : $2295/wk Saturday to Saturday
Late Summer: August 1 to September 5 : $1995/wk or rent by the night, 4 night min.
Dogs are welcome for an additional $75 fee per dog, limit 2. Special rules apply!!

Dear Brian, Wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed staying in your house on Papoose Drive at Lake Martin. The view was fantastic. It was almost like we were on a ship looking over the water. The house was well equipped with modern appliances and had more than enough sheets, towels, and dishes for our stay. It was close to many restaurants and grocery stores. It was on a good road and had plenty of parking. We hope to visit again real soon.

We came down to Homecoming at Tuskegee and choose to stay at the lake. The lake view and fishing were great. The house was clean, comfortable and very spacious. The area was quite.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers.

We recently stayed at Papoose and would not recommend this property. Based on the price and owner descriptions we expected much more. The house was not updated, the floating dock was unsafe and in very poor condition with no swim ladder, the outdoor areas were not clean, there was not sufficient outdoor deck furniture, there was trash, broken chairs and construction debris adjacent to the house and the house has a major roach infestation. The kitchen was poorly stocked and the cabinets were full of roach droppings. We stay at Lake Martin properties each year and trust us, you can find a much better home to rent. We are not picky renters and are not quick to complain but we want future renters to know what they are getting.
Owner response:We are very sorry for the poor time you had at Papoose. Upon reviewing your complaints we have made several adjustments to the processes we utilize to take to keep Papoose in clean working order for our guests. We have updated and expanded our pest control coverage, enhanced our cleaning of the property, added new ceiling fans to update the look of the home, and removed any and all debris that was around the home. We are planning to begin construction of an entirely new pier and boat dock structure within a few weeks. The new pier and dock will include a latter for easy entry into and out of the water. If all goes well the new pier will be completed by the end of February 2011. We appreciate your honest feedback and hope that you will return to Papoose to see the great effort we have put into updating and improving the home for all of our guests.
