Most years we book very early for both spring and summer compared to our island home competitors because of our reasonable rates, extensive ammenities, our flexible guest packages, combined with the unique size of our home. So unfortunately we simply cannot share the house with everyone each year and have consequently needed to turn away many visitor's inquiries for the 2009 season. We apologize for any inconveinence this may have caused some of you in your vacation home search.

Comfortably sleeping up to 24 people, this house is perfect for groups getaways and retreats, extended family vacations, or for anyone who expects more from their next summer rental.
The Laughlin House offers you a 30' X 30' square foot combination game room & entertainment area with an elegant peninsula fireplace, large screen TV, and classic arcade games for entertaining not only the children but the whole family. You will experience comfort that simply no other home can offer. You can sit back in our cool climate-controlled sun-rooms, each with an ocean view, or just open the French balcony doors to let in the soothing distant sounds and smells of vacation life at the shore. You can entertain outside on one of our two backyard patios, one for sunning and one with shelter from the heat of the midday sun.
We attempt to provide everything at our home possible to make guests right at home. To that end, we always make every attempt to make the following additional items available to each guest free of any charge, unless an unforeseen issue occurs that prevents supplying the particular item.

SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER GUESTS -- Do not let fear of bad weather stop you from booking The Laughlin House. In the event a hurricane warning is issued for Cape May County anytime during your stay you will receive a full or partial refund on your rental fee.
Vacation Rental Features
- Amenities
- Air Conditioning: Each level and area of the house is completely climate controled with an electronically controled thermostat and is kept extremely comfortable even on the hotest summer days.
- Washer (2) : The house come with two separate laundry rooms each containing 2 Washers. The main downstairs Laundry supports a large top loading Machine while the upstairs contains a smaller stackable unit.
- Dryer (2) : The house come with two separate laundry rooms each containing 2 Dryers. The main laundry downstairs supports a large, front loading machine while the upstairs contains a smaller stackable bottom unit for guest conveinence.
- Linens Provided: We currently provide sets of cloth towels in the Main House Kitchen as well as in each of the smaller snack kitchens upstairs. However, we DO NOT provide either bed sheets or bath towles.
- Off Street Parking: The main drive runs from the street to the back of the property and includes space for two cars in front of the garage as well as thre additional cars parked along the drive.
- Parking for RV/Boat/Trailer: Parking for a boat trailer is allowed in front of the ample parking either in the driveway or in front of the house.
- Gas Fireplace: Ourt Penninsula fireplace downstairs creates a unique center piece in the room and for winter guests is fully remote controled.
- Beds
- Queen Bed (3) : The two separate main bedrooms downstairs come with a large floor area and include, a bureau, Cable equipped TV, nightstand, a reading desk and a queen-sized bed. The master bedroom downstairs also includes its own bathroom with a vanity, his and hers sinks, a full tub w/ shower and toilet. The other room in the front down stairs also comes with its own half bath that has a sink and toilet as well as the other features mentioned above. Additionally, the final queen-sized bedroom sits on the eastern side of the second floor in the master bedroom, which comes with a bureau, desk, a fold-out loveseat, and of course cable TV.
- Double Bed (2) : The two upstairs separate master suites each come equipped with a bureau, a desk, a sitting chair, a cable TV, and pullout sleeper sofa and a double bed.
- Twin/Single Bed (7) : Throughout the rest of the house, 3 of the 4 additional bedrooms are designed to comfortably accommodate either two children or adult guests. The final loft bedroom only upstairs loft currently provides space for a single guest.
- Convertible Bed (9) : Each or our 5 convertible beds comfortably sleeps up to 2 people, contains a thicker then average mattress and an additional comforter pad on top. Each of these additional sleeping accommodations can be found in different rooms. Four are located upstairs with two in the master suites, and 2 more in the dual sunrooms.
- Crib: Although we do not provide cribs ourselves, we offer all guests the names and contact information for a service to have them delivered.
- Entertainment
- Cable/Satellite TV (9) : Each of our 12 TV's installed in each bedroom, The main Living room, the sunroom, and in the downstairs kitchen come with a comcast cable box for full access to all cable programming selections. We offer a premium cable package through Comcast that includes Showtime, HBO, Stars, and cinamax as well as their collection of OnDemand programming. Finally, in addition, we offer a collection of media programming through the house media server.

- Video Library (3) : Our guests receive complimentary access through user friendly interfaces guests can select programming from our extensive media library that includes 700 different movies, 400 commercial- free TV episodes as well as concert and recorded concert footage, and music videos.
- Video Game Console (3) : Each sunroom entertainment center includes one of two video game consoles including: a Playstation 2 or a Microsoft X Box free of additional charge.

- Music Library (3) : Aside from our in-house complimentary centralized library that is provided to our guests, our central media library offers a selection of music from Rapsady.com, last.fm, as well as an additional licensed collection of over 14,000 different songs via Windows Media Center.

- Full Kitchen (3) : The house offers guests three separate kitchens. In the downstairs, the main kitchen provides a place for most house cooking and food preparation. The room itself comes with the following large utilities: A full-size refrigerator/Freezer combination with an automatic ice maker, crusher and cold water delivery system. The kitchen also offers a large 6 burner stove, an In-Wall Oven, a microwave a garbage disposal, and a full-size dishwasher. In addition to the main utilities the main kitchen also contains a blender, a 4-piece toaster an electric can opener, a toaster oven, a full size coffee maker, and a Cappuccino machine. Each of the upstairs snack kitchens contain the following appliances, a four-burner stove, an oven, a combination, and an apartment-sized refrigerator and freezer as well as smaller utilities which include a blender, coffee maker, 2-piece toaster and a drying rack.
- Cooking Utensils Provided: Standard set of Utensils are provided for each of our three separate kitchens.
- Refrigerator (3) : There are three kitchens in the house. The largest is located in the main kitchen while there are two more located upstairs in each of the other two second floor areas of the home.
- Dishwasher: A Dishwasher is located in the main house kitchen.
- Microwave (3) : There are three microwaves located throughout the house. One in the Main house kitchen and 2 additional microwaves in the each second floor kitchen.
- Ice Maker
- Catering Available: Catering services are available at numerous locations throughout the area. Upon request, we are happy to supply guests with a list of prefered caterors that will accomodate groups of our guests at the house.
- Outdoor Features
- Gas/Electric BBQ Grill: A large GAS grill is provided on site and when not in use is placed inside of the storage shed to provide protection from the elements. Also, the grill is cleaned regularly by both guests and the weekly cleaning staff.
- Charcoal BBQ Grill: A medium sized CHARCOAL grill is provided in the storage shed for each group with a die-hard grill master that insists on charcoal grilling for the tastiest barbequing. Additionally, we provide a starter bag of charcoal, lighter fluid, and cooking and cleaning utensils for grilling, and trash can to collect all left over ash.
- Deck/Patio (2) : There are two separate back patios located on the house grounds with combined seating for 16 on cushioned seats. The home features a larger patio that seats 10 people underneath a lighted gazebo with four seated at the dinning table, four with room seating, and a final two people seated on a small outdoor couch. The second patio seats six and is located with sun chairs right off of the master bedroom with two sun chairs, and four seated at a round table.

Thanks for you feedback as it helps us make a list for the upcomming year! 1. The Light switch in the master bedroom doesn’t always work. The light switch needed replacing and so this has been fixed. 2. The B unit upstairs was a lot warmer then the A unit and we couldn’t find a separate thermostat control. This issue is to be addressed during the winter of 2009 where all of the insulation will be replaced and all of the other bedrooms will reciev ceiling fans. 3. The first floor front-end bedroom door sticks a bit and the bathroom door does as well. These doors will need to be plained down which will be addressed this winter as well. 4. The 1st floor hall bath toilet continues to run sometimes. The toliet is going to be checked over the winter as it can still be used.
