My fiancé and I decided to take a last minute getaway to the mountains last weekend. When I contacted Pat, the owner, about a last minute reservation, she was so accommodating and so helpful about booking the cabin and about the various things to do in the area. The cabin was absolutely amazing. It was perfect for a couple with a small dog. Pat has gone above and beyond to pay attention to every detail. The cabin was fully stocked with linens, toiletry items and every breakfast food under the sun. It was a real treat to experience her gracious hospitality. The spectacular mountain views, wrap around porch and wood burning fire place are just a few of the wonderful perks this cabin has to offer. We highly recommend this little slice of heaven to anyone looking to relax and experience the good life. We can't wait to go back! Thanks again Pat for everything.

Our first time at the "Moose" with our dog was wonderful! The description is really accurate, the place is nice and clean and the bed is really comfy. Pat is a really nice lady, and is sooooo thorough in providing details to enhance your stay. I won't spoil the fun,as you look into the refrig the first time to see all the goodies she has left for you!!! If you have a rainy day that keeps you in, there is lots to entertain you with games, movies, books and music. It is an easy walk to town for a newspaper and a nice relaxing view from the front porch. We are very familiar with the area but have never stayed near town. Our dog enjoyed the porch and becoming friends with the kitty that hangs out around the area. As the cabin is small, the 2 of us and our dog were plenty to occupy the space. We think Pat takes great pride in her cabin so her guests can enjoy their stay! Pat,Thank you again for sharing your cabin with us!!!!

I stayed at the cabin for the weekend with my boyfriend for his birthday, we were both so impressed with the cabin and everything that came inside! Pat provides alot of different foods as the site says, she is very friendly and helpful. The site outside the cabin from the porch is amazing! We went to white water raft and it was very close to there, which was very convenient. I would recommend this to my friends. We will defiantly be back to stay again!

This was our second time to visit the Moose Cabin. We love this place! The owner thinks of everything, and we always feel welcome and right at home. There are folding camp chairs and a cooler for a day trip, an umbrella in case of rain, movies and magazines if you want to stay in, or a hammock in the back for a nap. It is small, but we like that. The view of the mountains is beautiful from the front porch and there are cushioned rocking chairs just waiting to be used. The fridge is stocked with delicious breakfast food and more. We would like to keep this place a secret and you will understand why once you visit!

We stayed at Moose Crossing from June 7th. to June 14th. The cabin is charming and the outdoor space is delightful - watching the birds feeding was such fun. The description on VRBO was very accurate and the stocked refrigerator (breakfast goodies, etc.) was appreciated and enjoyed. Pat is a wonderful host and allows complete privacy even though her lovely home is adjoining. We enjoyed our stay in this lovely area (which we have visited from our home in Florida many times in the past eight years). Our vacation at Moose Crossing will always be remembered as one of our most relaxing ones. Ed, Nan & "Max" Ferreira from Homosassa, Florida

Just wanted a few days for my husband and me to relax. Moose Cabin was absolutely perfect! Pat was super with communication and made everything so easy even though we booked on short notice. We have stayed in many VRBO rentals and Pat's was hands down one of the best. I won't repeat the other reviewers, but everyone is right on about the cabin and Pat. Adored looking at the decor with all the moose! Pat thinks of everything. We will return soon!

We found Moose Crossing Cabin to be delightfully cozy with its country moose decor, very comfortable bed, and amazing porch/deck with view across the picturesque village of Andrews to the awesome mountains beyond. The cabin was convenient and easy to find, and Pat was gracious and available. Her well-stocked refrigerator provided breakfast and lunch treats, and we felt at home. Our only caution is that this is a small cabin, better for two or three with entertaining done outside via deck and barbeque pit! We did enjoy our stay and would not hesitate to recommend the cabin to friends!

We've stayed here before because we love the coziness of the place. We had been waiting for an available weekend for a few months now, so when this one came open, we snatched it up. The cottage is tiny but has all the amenities one may need. It is handsomely decorated, very clean and comfortable. The hostess is very nice and friendly, very prompt to respond. The little town of Andrews appears to have seen more affluent times, but there is still hope for a revival, because the potential is there. It is very quaint, with a great coffee shop and believe it or not, its own local winery, The Calaboose, which has daily wine tastings of their superb boutique wines--some of which have already won at international wine competitions. There is also a quilt shop, as well as a Roman Catholic church, which covers all the bases for me. The Moose Crossing is definitely on our list of places to come back to.

If you do not stay here you are missing two things. 1 You will never know the good time you will have at Moose Crossing 2 You will never meet the most wonderful people in this world. Pat and her family are very helpfull in every aspect from getting directions to the cabin to helping you plan day trips to other places. My wife and I along with our puppy stayed a week at Moose Crossing and the only regret we had was we had to leave. If you are looking for a great place to stay this is it.

We could not have asked for a better cabin or a better host! From all the breakfast items that Pat had stocked for us to just being able to sit on the porch rocking our cares away. We really enjoyed exploring Andrews, Murphy, and we loved the awesome view at the highest lookout in the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest. We will definately be back!

                          Owner info

About the owner: Originally, I'm from Connecticut. During the 80's I lived in Andrews up in a 'holler' and never had the gorgeous view I now enjoy. I then relocated to FL for 15 years and in 1999 decided I had to have another home in Andrews. I purchased 'this old house' and have had extensive improvements done. The 'Moose' was originally a single room over the workshop. I designed and decorated the cabin as it now exists and enjoyed watching it being built in 2007. The view of the northern mountains is breath-taking! I have thoroughly enjoyed all the comments from my guests, many of whom have become my friends. I work full-time as Radiology Director in a hospital in GA and am away from my home at least ten hours a day. My guests have total privacy, but like knowing I am here in the evenings should they have a problem or question. I have two 'inside' dogs who were hard-luck stories but have adapted to being spoiled house-dogs very quickly! I have traveled extensively throughout the USA as well as foreign countries and have never found a more beautiful place to live than right here in Andrews, NC.
