Just wanted a few days for my husband and me to relax. Moose Cabin was absolutely perfect! Pat was super with communication and made everything so easy even though we booked on short notice. We have stayed in many VRBO rentals and Pat's was hands down one of the best. I won't repeat the other reviewers, but everyone is right on about the cabin and Pat. Adored looking at the decor with all the moose! Pat thinks of everything. We will return soon!
Owner response:Thank you, Vivian!

We found Moose Crossing Cabin to be delightfully cozy with its country moose decor, very comfortable bed, and amazing porch/deck with view across the picturesque village of Andrews to the awesome mountains beyond. The cabin was convenient and easy to find, and Pat was gracious and available. Her well-stocked refrigerator provided breakfast and lunch treats, and we felt at home. Our only caution is that this is a small cabin, better for two or three with entertaining done outside via deck and barbeque pit! We did enjoy our stay and would not hesitate to recommend the cabin to friends!
Owner response:Thank you, Deb! I totally agree, it's a two person cabin for the best stay!

We've stayed here before because we love the coziness of the place. We had been waiting for an available weekend for a few months now, so when this one came open, we snatched it up. The cottage is tiny but has all the amenities one may need. It is handsomely decorated, very clean and comfortable. The hostess is very nice and friendly, very prompt to respond. The little town of Andrews appears to have seen more affluent times, but there is still hope for a revival, because the potential is there. It is very quaint, with a great coffee shop and believe it or not, its own local winery, The Calaboose, which has daily wine tastings of their superb boutique wines--some of which have already won at international wine competitions. There is also a quilt shop, as well as a Roman Catholic church, which covers all the bases for me. The Moose Crossing is definitely on our list of places to come back to.
Owner response:Thank you, Monica! I always enjoy having return guests and you and Kurt are certainly among my favorites. Hope you can come back soon!

If you do not stay here you are missing two things. 1 You will never know the good time you will have at Moose Crossing 2 You will never meet the most wonderful people in this world. Pat and her family are very helpfull in every aspect from getting directions to the cabin to helping you plan day trips to other places. My wife and I along with our puppy stayed a week at Moose Crossing and the only regret we had was we had to leave. If you are looking for a great place to stay this is it.
Owner response:How sweet of you! Thank you, Joe, Edie and "Buttons"!!

We could not have asked for a better cabin or a better host! From all the breakfast items that Pat had stocked for us to just being able to sit on the porch rocking our cares away. We really enjoyed exploring Andrews, Murphy, and we loved the awesome view at the highest lookout in the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest. We will definately be back!
Owner response:My greatest satisfaction is knowing guests have enjoyed themselves! Thank you!

This place is so nice & clean. I love moose so I fell in love with this cabin. Pat has it decorated so nicely & there are moose everywhere. I LOVED it! The bed was so nice as well as having a porch to grill out. We will be back! Hopefully in the Fall. Pat is very nice & we enjoyed meeting the dogs & seeing the cats. You can not go wrong with this place.

My husband and I just stayed in this cozy cabin for one week. And we were simply awestruck with this place. The cabin has everything you could possibly need. Pat stocks the fridge with all kinds of breakfast goodies and the bed sheets are super soft and comfy (she even irons them for you!) In the bathroom there's towels,shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste and a first aide kit. It was truly a home away from home. And the best part is Pat herself. You couldnt possibly find a nicer, good hearted person. She treated us like old friends instead of just paying guests! There's also a great wrap around porch with rocking chairs and a grill (we used it a lot). Down below is a place for an outside fire and a hammock. Oh and there's also a fireplace inside which we loved to use when the temperature dropped outside. It's just awesome! And the little town of Andrews was just what we wanted. It's not totally isolated from everything so anything you might need from a grocery store or drug store is there but no Walmart. But if you must have a Walmart there is one only minutes away. And the Nantahala River and lake are just a few minutes away and what an absolutely gorgeous place! It was Spring when we went and the smell of that fresh air and being by the river was just perfect! We even went whitewater rafting with NOC on the Nantahala and we highly recommend it for first timers like us. They do go to other rivers with more rapids so that'll be on the to-do list for next year. Plus the Smoky Mountains are just a few more minutes down the road with its waterfalls and trails. We also got to go to this cute little pottery place called Pincu Pottery in Bryson City and work with Elise and make our own pottery and we even got to work on a potter's wheel! Really Cool!! If you like driving and curvy roads then Hwy 129 is a must drive in the Smoky's. There are 318 curves in just 11 miles! It's called the Tail of the Dragon and is very popular. Plus you also get to see the Cheoah Dam that was in the 1993 Harrison Ford movie "The Fugitive". I could go on and on. If anyone would like to contact me with any questions please don't hesitate. You can reach me at josafatsjoy@gmail.com. I also have some really good photos of the place if you're interested in seeing a few more. So with all of that said you can definitely count on us coming back as soon as we can. I already have a sister that is planning to come and stay at Pat's place. Thanks again Pat for everything! xoxo Joy and Joe

My wife and I just finished a week at the Moose and we must tell you it was hard to leave. Pat is a wonderful host who really knows the ‘give and take’ of managing a rental unit. From the well stocked fridge to lots of wood for the fire pit and fireplace; the free wireless was the icing on the cake. The cabin itself fit like comfy slippers the whole week long. How can you not love finishing the evening with roasting marshmallows over a fire in the cabin’s well used fireplace. We can not say enough good things about Pat, her knowledge of the surrounding area and her guidance was a wonderful bonus. The local horseback riding on the actual ‘Trail of Tears’ through Horseshoe Creek Riding Stables (a must) was great. Then ending the week with hand written directions for a fun filled trip to the John C. Campbell Folk School Fall Festival was great. Overall the cabin was perfect for the two of us and we certainly have this place bookmarked as one we would love to come back to again.

The "Moose" is fabulous. The cabin itself is luxurious, and very high quality. The furnishings and amenities are the same. The cabin is eqipped with everything you could possibly need, and more. No detail has been overlooked. The porches and back deck are great, and the mountain views spectacular. I have stayed in this area many times and other places in the U.S. and foreign countries. This is the nicest by far. I have been here two weeks and the time has gone by way too fast. Pat, your hostess, is a wonderful person who is there to answer any question or request, but gives you total privacy. She has become a true friend. You will not be disappointed..you are going to LOVE it.

We absolutely love this place! Spent two weeks October '08 for our fall Smokey trip. From the front porch, we actually watched the colors change daily. It was wonderful. We've already booked for October '09. Pat is a friend now. She goes above and beyond with her guests. We have rented throughout the area for many years, so we know GREAT when we experience it! Love you, Pat...

What a gem of a Cabin! Your host makes sure your stay is a pleasant one. All the things you need to feel like this is your home away from home. And what a plus to be able to bring your four footed friends to enjoy the scenery with you. We can't say enough...we highly recommend Moose Crossing Cabin!

My wife and I have stayed here on three different occasions. We have found the accommodations to be excellent. The cabin is somewhat cozy, but the rates are so reasonable. And Pat is a wonderfully gracious host. The mountain view from the covered porch is fabulous, the (seemingly) dozens of birdfeeders throughout the yard are additional fine viewing entertainment, and the birds certainly sing up a storm. Oodles of room on the porch, a very comfy queen bed, always delectable breakfast goodies! We make a point to bring a laptop, the free wifi is a major bonus!! Great restaurants close by! We will definitely make plans to return!!!

It's hard to describe how much we loved staying at Moose Crossing. Pat made us feel very at home. The view from the cabin took our breath away and the people of Andrews made us feel welcome. We loved it so much that we did not want to leave and it even left tears in our eyes. Thank you Pat for the great vacation and we will be back next year. We hope for good very soon!

This place is all about comfort, peace, and quiet and in a charming, private and secure place. Very cozy and comfortable bed, cute kitchen has everything, the view from the sofa is mountains, fireplace is great. Fridge was stocked, so was the bath. Loved the deck, (so did my 2 cats) birdhouses in the side yard, privacy of woods in back. A convient place to go out to area attractions, lots of day trips. (especially liked Joyce Kilmer's State Park.) I will definitely stay here again. Much thanks to Pat for making me feel welcome.

Cozy cabin but definitely in a neighborhood; but would certainly stay here again. Can't beat the rate! Thanks Pat!

Moose Crossing Cabin was a cute & cozy cottage. Great mountain views from the comfortable rockers on the porch. Close to town for convenience and easy driving distance to whitewater rafting and larger towns. Really had a cute decor and comfy bed!! I had a "working" vacation and the internet access was invaluable to me! Worth the Stay!
