  My husband, toddler, and I rented this house for a week in August. We left early due to a fairly decent bug problem in the kitchen/bathroom. I would NOT rent this house again, and I strongly urge everyone to take this seriously when determining whether or not to rent. The property manager next store and his wife are very nice people, but unfortunately the house itself is just not very nice. It was very dirty/musty smelling when we entered the house, the two bedrooms are "separated" by an accordian-type door, and there are two bathrooms: 1. a travel trailer bathroom with a leaky bathtub that has a significant amount of mold in the drain and 2. a second bathroom that has a stand up shower only (which is very short, my husband is 6 foot tall and had to duck). Again, we left early due to a bug problem- and the owner is refusing to refund our deposit although we cleaned more thoroughly when we left than when we arrived. The renter across the street saw us moving out and flagged us down to inform us that she had rented this house a couple of years ago, and had the same problems (musty/old, bugs). The manager says that he "routinely" sprays for bugs and they had a renter there a couple of weeks ago and since have "had trouble getting rid of them." The golf cart and grill are the nice portions of this home, but again, I would truly not recommend this house to anyone.

  Owner response: I don't know what this renter expected. They had a week rental then decided to leave after staying 4 days. we converted her weekly rate to a daily rate and refunded her the difference plus her $ 100. pet deposit. We usually do not refund any unused days for a summer rental but since we had treated for bugs after a previous rental thought maybe she had seen a bug.(checked after she left and did not find any). I am sorry her vacation was cut short but we did more than usual to make her happy.

  I have stayed at this rental many times, it is clean, quitet and kid frendly. Oceanlakes is a great place for the family. I would recomend this rental for a beach vacation.

  Our family had a wonderful time spending our vacation in your beach home.This property was everything it was advertised to be and more. Home was well maintaned and very clean. We loved the golf cart, we could go anywhere in just minutes. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this rental! Thanks Bobby and Shirley for sharing your home!

  We are so excited to be staying here again this coming summer. We have been here in the past and have had no issues. The onwers are extra nice people and are willing to let you use their personal golf cart to cruise the park. Worth the price for great location and lost of fun in the sun.....

  We stayed at this listing in 2007 when we only had three small children, and we would've considered staying there again but we've added two more children to our family. . . so we have to rent a larger place. I've been staying at Ocean Lakes since I was a teenager with my family (1988 was my first trip), and we've stayed in some of the larger "newer" rentals on the Ocean Lakes property as well as plenty of other smaller ones. The owners of this particular rental have by far been the kindest and easiest to communicate with in my own personal dealings, and I haven't forgotten it! (I do not know these people personally outside of this business transaction!) While the rental is not one of the brand new, fancy-dancy decorated rentals that some folks are looking for, this was a comfortable place for us. It was clean the year we stayed there, and we had no issues at all. Personally, I enjoy simple comfort and have no need for pretentions and materialism. . . this place and the owners suited me quite well!

  This rental is very deceiving. It is not clean, remote was misplaced, had to look under chairs and couches. It was disgusting (did find remote). Had to wash the mattress pads before using the beds, they were filthy. Had to clean the bathrooms and kitchen before using. The sliding door lock was broken. Could not lock the door most of the time unless my husband worked on it. Only had 1 key, neighbor could not find other door key. Had to fix the folding doors going into the very small 2nd bedroom because they were falling off the tracks. As a result of tying the doors shut, could not have any privacy dressing because the doors could not be closed. Visitors are required to clean upon leaving to keep cost down, I have stayed in many others that had a cleaning service and the cost was the same; you need someone to clean your house thoroughly. This will be my one and only time to stay at your beach house.

  Owner response: To Dissatisfied, We are so sorry you did not find our home up to your standard. We have had renters every week this summer and no one has conplained, most of our renters come back year after year and have already booked for next year. Our pictures should give you a pretty good idea of the size of the bedrooms. The lock you had trouble with is a new lock but I will have it checked out to make sure its working. We do not have a regular cleaning service but the house is checked out to make sure it is clean. Hope you find a more suitable rental next year. Shirley

  Great stay at this house I thouroughly enjoyed renting Shirley and Bobby's place at Ocean Lakes. Upon arrival I found all I needed to enjoy a relaxing few days on the beach. The house was warm inviting and clean. There was plenty of room in the spacious master bedroom and 2nd bedroom. The golf cart for cruising to the pool camp store and beach was a definite plus. I would recommend this home to famililes with small children, couples or seniors just looking for a get away with no worries

  Lot's of fun for the kids and adults. Plenty of room to sleep for large family. Very clean and comfortable. I loved it and hope to return next year.
