This is it!......You have found the world famous Kauai Beach Front Condos....at POIPU SHORES! just as the name implies...that is what we do, and what we offer!
.....check out the features carefully...there is nothing better on Kauai at any price!
The beautifully maintained Poipu Shores Resort is located on a small bluff on the southern tip of Kauai, between the Hyatt and Sheraton.
Three of our condos are on the ground floor, RIGHT on the ocean front! They all feature two bedrooms suites, both w/king size beds, and two separate private baths. Poipu Shores is located on the East end (Boogie Board) end of Brenneke's Beach aka Poipu Beach. There are 100% UNOBSTRUCTED ocean views from the master bedroom, living room and lanai where sea life such as large sea turtles, dolphin and whales are clearly visible. Sounds of waves can be heard from all rooms, and the condos property even has its own 'blowhole' at high tide.
The interiors of all of our condominiums are immaculately decorated with top-of-the-line appliances, furniture, linens, and art. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything one needs to prepare a meal like you were at home! We supply plenty of QUALITY bath and beach towels,QUALITY beach chairs, and snorkeling equipment. Also all of our condos have their own private in suite washers and dryers.
Not more than 50ft from the Poipu Shores condos is the amazing 'cliffhanger pool' the ONLY cliffhanger pool left on Kauai after Hurricane Iniki in 1991. Surrounding the pool are lounge chairs and umbrellas. 25ft from the front door of your condo is a beautiful covered gas BBQ center for your convenience.
Whether you prefer the A/C, Pool and walking distances to dozens of restaurants of Poipu Shores.....Or the just JUMP IN THE WATER action of Kuhio Shores 'On the Beach'....we have just what you are looking for!
BRAND NEW TOP of the line Sera Perfect Sleeper Beds is California King size in BOTH bedroom suites. Trust me on this....the bed is a MAJOR part of the recipe for a quality vacation! These are $2000 each and even the Hyatt at $500/night went for a less expensive bed.
Things you rarely think about...our pillows are discarded every 90 days and replaced with 'New' pillows...the bedding is top quality 300-400 thread count sheets and in as new condition and replaced on a schedule. We are total clean freaks.....
Activities such as golfing, snorkeling, hiking, and surfing are close by, as well as excellent restaurants, shopping centers, and markets.
We look forward to hearing from you. Mahalo!!

This condo is in the perfect location! It is a very easy walk to the beach. We loved sitting on the patio just watching and listening to the waves! Just beautiful! We saw several sea turtles too! So cool!! Very relaxing place. The condo is stocked with all that you need to cook meals. It's nice having access to a BBQ grill also. There is an air conditioner in the master bedroom (which was nice to have since I tend to get hot at night!). I would definitely recommend this property. The owners are very easy and nice to work with.Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thanks so much for your kind review!....Hope to host you again sometime! John and Janis

The condo was right off the water, but if you're looking for beach access, this wouldn't be for you. If you want a place to relax by the pool, listening to the crashing waves with easy access to turtle viewing, then you've found your place!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Kauai was our last stop in the Hawaii islands, and one of the best. Poipu is very well located as it one of the only "always sunny" part of the island. The condo is very well equiped, warmly decorated and confortable, very clean, and has a wonderful view directly over the sea. We saw dolfins and hundreds of turtles. The swimming pool is right across the garden and the nearest beach is ideal for body surfing. We wish we would live there all year long, but unfortunately, we live in Paris (still the most beautiful city in the world)...Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thanks so much for your kind words....We are looking forward to seeing your lovely city next year on an extended vacation....we will definitaly look you up! Paris and Kauai...now that's living! Hope to share our home with you again sometime...John and Janis Zihla

My wife and I just completed and 11 day stay in Kauai at 4 destinations. John and Janis's unit #103A at Poipu shores was one of our favorite destinations - not just on this trip but in all the Hawaiian Islands. The unit is on the first floor. Unlike most places, the first floor units at Poipu Shores are the most sought after (I know I compared real estate prices here). For the first floor one can walk out right to the pool or the beach. The unit itself is very large - 2 nice size bedrooms with laundry and a full kitchen. If one closes the shades during the day (that is when you're not enjoying the view) it stays very cool. The Master bedroom has air-conditioning that we never bothered to use. The main bedroom has a King-Size bed that's very comfortable. Within the first 14 hours of our stay, we saw a large pod of dolphins, sea turtles, and a seal. During the rest of our stay we saw only a couple of sea turtles so I'm not sure how John arranged the wildlife show during the beginning of our stay. The rooms are 'quiet' - I put that in quotes because it's quiet from humans. The sound of the waves crashing against the rocks can be loud. We loved the sound so much we didn't dare turn on the air conditioning, instead we opted to sleep with the windows open.I think it's possible to stay closer to the water. One could stay on a boat or a submarine. The nearby Poipu beach is excellent. Poipu is an excellent location for exploring the western part of the island and Waimea Canyon. We stayed in a highly-rated B&B in the western part of the Island but didn't like it 1/2 as much as we enjoyed Poipu Shores. After Poipu Shores, we checked into the Hyatt where I had a couple of free nights. I loved the Hyatt but 2 days of the busy resort was quite enough. However, I would have preferred to stay longer at Poipu shores.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks so much for that thoughful review! We hope to host you and your family again sometime! Mahalo again....for taking the time to let others know about the beauty and quality of this accomodation! John and janis

Our first trip to Hawaii was 2 weeks long in early June and included 3 islands, with four nights on Kauai at Poipu Shores. In retrospect I wish we had spent another day or two there! John and Janis’ condo was in great condition, just like the online description, and had everything we needed. When we rented the unit we weren’t sure we’d like being on the first floor, but we absolutely loved it. Being able to walk out the sliding-glass door and be so near the very rocky coast was exhilarating, and there always seemed to be one or two sea turtles in the surf. The nearby beach, directly visible from the condo and perhaps a 10 minute walk, is well worth a visit, always busy but not overly crowded (at least for our stay). As for the island itself, Kauai is very rural (chickens everywhere), easy to navigate and not much traffic – we felt at ease the entire time there. And undoubtedly, visiting Waimea Canyon was the high point (pun intended!) of our trip – simply spectacular. Five stars to Kauai, and five stars to our condo!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with teenagers.

We have stayed on Hawaii for the first time and chose our condo based on location and photos. While the photos are unbelievable, the reality is at least the same if not better. The condo is very well maintained, fully equipped and clean. A sparkling wine and two glasses waiting for us in the fridge was just the best beginning to what we now call the best vacation the family had so far. If it was walking to the beaches to swim, surf, snorkle or just enjoy the sand on the beach, if it was just resting at the pool watching turtles or whales or the beautiful walks to other beaches, we always happily returned to the condo to rest and fall asleep listening to the waves hitting the rock just a few feet from us. John and Janis were great to communicate with and have given us some very good advice for places to visit or eat at. Will keep recommending to everyone !Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

We recently stayed at Poipu Shores #106A. The owners are hands on and very nice to deal with. This condo is beautiful, and looks exactly like it does on their website. It is away from the crowd, right on the water and very very clean. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could ever need. And the best part of this condo is that it's a perfect location for the beautiful Kauai sunsets!! The location of this condo couldn't be better, we highly recommend!!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thanjks so much for taking the time to review us! We would be pleased to host you again sometime....Paradise awaits! John and janis

We totally fell in love as soon as we opened the door. Listing & photos of unit were definitely accurate. The location of complex was very convenient to everything we wanted to do on every part of Kauai. Loved open feel of living area w/updated kitchen (granite & cook top), granite (also in bathrooms). Especially loved huge walk-in shower in master bathroom. Unit totally furnished w/comfy furniture (like home), & even had beach equipment (large beach towels, ice chest, & snorkel gear). We were only steps away from the surf crashing on black rocks. Loved the sound of surf so much I bought CD of surf sounds upon return to mainland. This unit was just steps to the pool & the coastline; only short walk to sandy beach for snorkeling. We were glad we chose this unit on 1st floor, as we could just walk out the door to access the pool. We also had spectacular views from lanai for sunrise & sunset; lost count of all the whales we saw daily (visited in January). Also saw huge turtles in the cove to the left of the pool. The grounds were like a botanical garden, with tropical flowers everywhere. The grass was plush, soft and green. The entire complex reflects the island's label as the garden island. The complex was quiet and secure. We went there needing to unwind and relax, and this was the perfect place for that. We can't wait to return!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

John and Janis, We had a great time in your condo. It was perfect for my elderly mom and dad. Every morning I would find my dad on the front porch just staring out at the ocean. We have stayed on Kauai 4 times now, and I can honestly say your condo was by far the best views and location we have ever seen on the Island. Every thing was very convenient, clean and easy to operate. Hats off to you housekeeper as well, the condo was immaculate inside and out.You might want to add Tomkats and Casablanca to your list of places to eat, they were very good. I am taking some decorator tips from your condo back home to Oregon...we loved the colors and artwork! Thanks again and we will be back. Rick and Mary Portland OregonDid you find this review helpful? John and Janis, Lindsay and I arrived home from your place in Poipu Shores late Thursday night and just wanted to tell you how much we appreciated it! After being in Maui for a week it was the perfect, relaxing end to our honeymoon. The pictures just don't do it justice! We sat every morning and evening on the patio in complete amazement of the ongoing water show right in front of our eyes, not to mention the beautiful sunsets just up the shoreline. It is a nice quiet place with every amenity that we needed to enjoy ourselves. After seeing the pictures, my parents are also interested in renting your place for a week possibly sometime in early Feb for my mom's birthday. I told them I would find out the weekly rates and availability. Let me know when you get a chance. Thanks again for a wonderful couple days!! Next time we plan on staying longer:) Jon and LindsayDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2
