We recently stayed at Poipu Shores #106A. The owners are hands on and very nice to deal with. This condo is beautiful, and looks exactly like it does on their website. It is away from the crowd, right on the water and very very clean. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could ever need. And the best part of this condo is that it's a perfect location for the beautiful Kauai sunsets!! The location of this condo couldn't be better, we highly recommend!!

Recommended for:Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Best spot on Kauai for 1st trip to island!

We totally fell in love as soon as we opened the door. Listing & photos of unit were definitely accurate. The location of complex was very convenient to everything we wanted to do on every part of Kauai. Loved open feel of living area w/updated kitchen (granite & cook top), granite (also in bathrooms). Especially loved huge walk-in shower in master bathroom. Unit totally furnished w/comfy furniture (like home), & even had beach equipment (large beach towels, ice chest, & snorkel gear). We were only steps away from the surf crashing on black rocks. Loved the sound of surf so much I bought CD of surf sounds upon return to mainland. This unit was just steps to the pool & the coastline; only short walk to sandy beach for snorkeling. We were glad we chose this unit on 1st floor, as we could just walk out the door to access the pool. We also had spectacular views from lanai for sunrise & sunset; lost count of all the whales we saw daily (visited in January). Also saw huge turtles in the cove to the left of the pool. The grounds were like a botanical garden, with tropical flowers everywhere. The grass was plush, soft and green. The entire complex reflects the island's label as the garden island. The complex was quiet and secure. We went there needing to unwind and relax, and this was the perfect place for that. We can't wait to return!

John and Janis, We had a great time in your condo. It was perfect for my elderly mom and dad. Every morning I would find my dad on the front porch just staring out at the ocean. We have stayed on Kauai 4 times now, and I can honestly say your condo was by far the best views and location we have ever seen on the Island. Every thing was very convenient, clean and easy to operate. Hats off to you housekeeper as well, the condo was immaculate inside and out.You might want to add Tomkats and Casablanca to your list of places to eat, they were very good. I am taking some decorator tips from your condo back home to Oregon...we loved the colors and artwork! Thanks again and we will be back. Rick and Mary Portland Oregon

John and Janis, Lindsay and I arrived home from your place in Poipu Shores late Thursday night and just wanted to tell you how much we appreciated it! After being in Maui for a week it was the perfect, relaxing end to our honeymoon. The pictures just don't do it justice! We sat every morning and evening on the patio in complete amazement of the ongoing water show right in front of our eyes, not to mention the beautiful sunsets just up the shoreline. It is a nice quiet place with every amenity that we needed to enjoy ourselves. After seeing the pictures, my parents are also interested in renting your place for a week possibly sometime in early Feb for my mom's birthday. I told them I would find out the weekly rates and availability. Let me know when you get a chance. Thanks again for a wonderful couple days!! Next time we plan on staying longer:) Jon and Lindsay

We would like to let others know, that this condo is really nice and a beautiful place to stay. Our patio was our favorite and came complete with entertainment: waves, the breeze and the view. Cocktail time was the best!. The rooms in the condo are all very comfortable and very clean. New appliances were a bonus, since other places often don't have this. Very nice.

Nice Place, beautiful interior, everything was A-1. We really enjoyed our stay and sitting the pool watching the waves and beautiful ocean. Our goal was to visit every beach on Kauai, almost got it done, but coming home to the condo was relaxing and made us feel like it was ours. We would definately come back.

We loved our vacaton and we were very happy to see that the pictures that were sent to us were exactly the way the condo looked. It was so wonderful and tropical. Even our kids loved it. The condo was located close to stores and lots of other beaches to visit. The coastline is very dramatic and produced many a 'wow' from all of us. we would like to book another week soon.

Aloha!!! We had a great time!! What a spot you have. You can tell people were very envious of our "rich and famous" location!!! Hello John and Janis, Kevin and I wanted to express our gratitude for you sharing your condo with us Aug. 18-25th. The condo itself is beautiful and the views are amazing. We enjoyed every inch of it! Our wedding day was beautiful as it was at Shipwreck. Our week in Kauai certainly would not have been as memorable without our stay at Poipu Shores 103A. We absolutely loved it and hope to be able to return for another visit in the future. My parents were awestruck with Kuhio Shores 119, as well and said that if they return in the future they would like to stay in the same unit. It was easy entrance for Grandma just as promised. Thanks for making our wedding, honeymoon and stay in Kauai one we will never forget. We did our very best to tidy up the unit and throw in the towels and linens in washer/dryer. Hopefully, we helped out the cleaning lady and saved her time. We even windexed mirrors and tables. We just returned back to the mainland this evening as we ended up with an extra day in Kona due to a cancelled flight...no complaints about that either...just sad to be back home since there is no comparison between Hawaii and Maryland! Thanks again, John and Janis for sharing your part of paradise with us. Good Morning John and Janis I just wanted to let you know we had an AMAZING time in Kauai and your condo was beautiful! We made the best choice with choosing to stay on Kauia and staying at your condo. We are already talking about when to go back, definitely want to stay there again. I am not sure if anyone reported it yet, but the TV in the living room was not working - when we turned it on, all the channels had a very blurry picture. We loved going to sleep at night listening to the waves crashing and waking up every morning, having breakfast on the lanai and watching the turtles and whales - there were so many!!! The weather could not have been more perfect and we spend every day at either the pool, a beach or both! We went sight-seeing all around the island and took a sunset cruise to the Napali Coast where we also saw whales, turtles, dolphins, rainbows and a beautiful sunset. Dear John and Janis, Ed and I just wanted to thank you for sharing your little slice of heaven with us at Poipu Shores. Your website is very good, but it cannot begin to show the incredible beauty that lies just steps outside your back door. I can still see the turtles playing in the ocean just below the deck of the pool, and who could forget the magnificent sight of the whales out at sea spouting and showing off their beautiful tails. New Years was magical with the fireworks display out on the ocean that we could easily view from the privacy of our own lanai. OUr neighbors were delightful and we simply felt very welcomed by everyone. Your home became our home. Your town became our town. Thanks again for renting your home at 103A Poipu Shores..........we had a blast!!!! Lucy and Ed B.

Kuhio Shores #119 is a beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bath, pristine condo located on the ocean. It's a ground floor, corner unit surrounded in floor to ceiling glass, with amazing views of the waves and ocean. Located right next door to the famous 'Beach House Restaurant’ where people reserve months in advance for a chance to watch the spectacular sunset - and you can watch them nightly from the comfort of your living room or lawn. The glass slider opens up onto a lanai and spacious lawn leading to the waters’ edge. The turtles swim right in close, the snorkeling is great and there are great surf breaks right outside your door. You couldn't ask for a better spot - and the owners John and Janis are great, they’ve really put their personal touch on the condo. We would highly recommend this unit, and location.
