From one of our guests (Somerset, England):
"We spent a fantastic week in this home. The house itself is excellent in terms of location, setting, decor and equipment with many thoughtful touches that added to the overall quality of our stay. The bedrooms are spacious, the den is excellent for children wanting their own space and the lounge and dining room make for a relaxed setting for a holiday. The house setting is picturesque whilst it is well located in relation to Estes Park...I wholeheartedly commend this home to anyone wishing to visit Colorado."
The AlpineHaus is a newer (2002) vacation home and is situated in the quiet, gated Blue Spruce Village Victorian community that has the Big Thompson River running through it and is ¼ mile outside the Estes Park city limits. The Rocky Mountain National Park Beaver Meadows Visitor Center and Park Headquarters are two miles from our vacation home and it is just a five minute drive to downtown Estes. The AlpineHaus is only ¼ mile from the original early 1900's entrance to the Park and a trailhead that leads to the Bear Lake/Moraine Park area, on the edge of the YMCA of the Rockies Conference and Activity Center.
Our three-level townhome has 2200 square feet of living space. The main level offers a greatroom with a stone fireplace (gas burning) and opens to a large deck with a picnic table and gas grill. Oak wainscoting and large windows adorn the greatroom and separate dining area with a large dining table. The fully-equipped kitchen and dining area have wood floors adding to the warmth and charm of this beautiful home. The main level greatroom also has a large LCD TV with a DVD player. Sit on the large deck to relax and view the elk, an occasional bear and other wildlife!
The upper level has three large bedrooms and a loft area with a game/puzzle table. The master bedroom has a king-size pine log bed and furnishings with a large bay window and jetted whirlpool tub in its private bathroom. The second bedroom also has a pine log queen bed and furnishings, two dormered windows and a private entrance to the second full bath (which also opens to the loft/hall area to share with the third bedroom). The third bedroom has a queen sized bed and a twin sized bed and dormered windows - perfect for a third couple or children.
The walkout lower level has a recreation room great for kids young and old with a TV, DVD/VCR, video games, queen sized sofa/sleeper, and patio area.
Walk fifty yards to the Big Thompson River for fly-fishing and relaxation. While our home is not directly on the river, the river runs through our private community and all owners and guests have access to common areas with picnic tables and seating areas.
Free Internet access via our broadband wireless connection (bring your laptop with wireless card if you need to check in at work occasionally or just want to surf the Net for various events going on in Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park while on vacation). Or perhaps you'll want to check the weather forecast prior to departing for a climb up Long's Peak!
The following are just a few more of the comments from our guest registry:
“It was great to come ‘home’ to this beautiful home each day. We travel the mountains every summer, and this is the best place we have ever stayed at!”
“One of the nicest places we have ever stayed in! You have a lovely home.”
"What a surprise to walk in your beautiful home!! Booking it on the internet was a bit scary but as soon as the door was opened, you could feel the warmth! A gorgeous setting and close to shopping, hiking and sightseeing. Can't wait to come back again!"
“We had a lot of wildlife here with a bear the first morning, deer and a fawn, beautiful birds…”

Our stay at the AlpineHaus was outstanding! The house is wonderful. Very clean, extremely roomy. We travel with my sister and brother-in-law so it was great for each couple to have our own bathrooms. The location is perfect...just a few minutes into downtown Estes as well as the park. Pretty setting, quiet. Even met one of the neighbors who was very nice and recommended a couple restaurants. We will definitely stay here again! We enjoyed dinner/drinks at The Rock Inn (almost in walking distance) and had a great pizza (their #1) at Bob and Tony's downtown. Saw lots of elk. As always it was a great time (we vacation in Estes nearly every fall) but the AlpineHaus definitely made this year's trip even better. Thank you so much! We would definitely recommend it!

Estes Park is one of the most beautiful places on this planet. This property is exceptional! From the moment we walked into the house we felt at home. It was more then we dreamed of. The pictures in no way do it justice. The kitchen is my domain and had everything (plus), that I needed for our Thanksgiving dinner. It is so quiet and peaceful, yet within minutes we could be in Estes Park. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. We would recommend it to everyone!

This was our second trip to this property in Estes Park. It was again, our home away from home. It is extremely well kept and organized with wonderful decorations and amenities. The gas fireplace is a great thing to use on cool mornings. This is located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood just minutes from downtown Estes Park (groceries and shops) and from Rocky Mountain National Park. The beauty of this park cannot be described or even photographed properly, so we purchased a DVD. We saw many animals, including a bear and three cubs on the ourskirts of town from our car. Elk can be seen in September in the park also. The view from the deck is of a mountain and plenty of blue spruce trees. We had come from a paradise at sea level to a different paradise at mountain level. Hopefully, we can again return. Come and enjoy this life for a while, and don't say for only a few days. Make sure you get to Glen Haven for those delicious cinnamon buns! Try the Dunraven Inn close to the house for great Italian food. Visit the Estes Park Museum for a historical tour of the area. Read the book on the coffee table entitled "Rocky Mountain National Park, Then And Now". You will not be disappointed.

The quality and setting of the house easily exceeded our expectations and we couldn't have asked for a better base for our visit to Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park. The time went past all too quickly but all of us have some great memories from our vacation. The setting of the house was excellent and we enjoyed the quiet area and the privacy but still being within very easy reach of all facilities in Estes Park and only a few minutes from the national park entrance. The property was very well maintained and clean and welcoming to arrive to. The photos in the profile do not do full justice to the reality of the property. It is very well laid out with plenty of space for our party. We would have no hesitation to recommend this property to others for either a short break or extended vacation.

This was our 2nd stay at your home and it was perfect. The house is exactly what my family needs. The Thomas The Train set was a nice touch for my 3 yr. old daughter and my 5 year old son really enjoys the Mario Brothers games. It is nice after a long day of hiking in the Rocky Mountains to have something entertaining for the kids to do at home. We now consider this our home away from home in beautiful Estes Park. I look forward to many future visits.

This was our first time to stay at Estes Park, though it probably won't be our last. What a pleasant, relaxing home away from home. Everything we needed was there. It was very nicely appointed in every room. Comfortable morning and night, with plenty of scenery and entertainment. The fishing was great, and a family of deer at the bridge to welcome us. Who could ask for more!

Just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time. Your home was a great place to stay. It far exceeded our expectations. We did everything we set out to do - hiking, horseback riding, shopping, sight seeing, etc. The weather was great and the residents of EP were extremely friendly. The kids said that this was the best vacation that they ever had. We will be come back and do it again in the near future. Thanks again!

I am so glad I chose your place to stay in over the others. My eyes lit up the second I walked inside your lovely home. We are here because my best friend is getting married this weekend. While other guests stayed at the Stanley, we are so glad we chose your place all to ourselves.
