It's all true! Our family just spent a wonderful Christmas in this lovely house. Very well appointed, tastefully decorated, comfortable and importantly this time of the year well heated. I enjoyed cooking in the farmhouse style kitchen. Weather was 15 degrees with some days sunny with deep blue sky; beautiful backdrop to the Provençal plane trees in St Remy. We enjoyed walks up behind the house and along the canal into town, where we ate delicious meals out and shopping in the many tasteful boutiques selling local produce; particularly good for toiletries and home products. We have rebooked and are looking forward to returning in the summer and enjoying the lovely pool and peaceful garden.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

We thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing week staying at the house. It is a luxurious property which provides the perfect setting for a group or family to spend time together. All the rooms are spacious and fitted with everything you need. We enjoyed entertaining using both dining areas inside and outside the house. The sunset over looking the pool and the Olive Garden was a daily treat. St Remy town centre is close by and is a real gem, plus the local golf courses are top quality. We would definitely stay again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Four college roommates and their wives chose to celebrate their 60th birthdays together in Provence this Fall, in this beautiful villa. We were thrilled with the accommodations, location, beauty, and comfort of the villa, and it far exceeded our expectations. The main floor is an open floor plan which added to one of our main objectives - spending time together at the villa most evenings, cooking, eating, listening to music and talking. The kitchen is very well equipped and worked quite well when we hired a local chef to give us a cooking class and prepare a dinner for us. The outdoor space is large and well maintained, and the three large tables (two outside and one indoors) allowed us to experience our meals in a variety of settings. Bedrooms and bathrooms were all spacious and lovely. The Dixons provided many brochures about the area as well as a notebook with very complete operating instructions for all appliances and very pertinent information about the villa and it's location. We spent a good deal of time traveling around Provence, and the location provided easy access to a variety of sites and attractions. In short, our stay in Provence was greatly enhanced by this lovely, well-appointed, comfortable villa.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We rented this property for two weeks. All but one of our six children and their spouses spent at least a week with us in the house. We were met promptly and all staff were helpful and very kind. We spent a lot of time outside in the pool, cooking on the grill, and eating at the two long tables. It was a fabulous experience and everyone enjoyed their time in St. Remy. The owners were very accommodating and had a portable crib and high chair available for our youngest traveler and coordinated the mid-stay cleaning so that we could change sheets in the rooms that had new guest coming. We used the air-conditioning the second week we were there and it cooled the house off very nicely. The beds were very comfortable and as the description notes, the curtains and finishes were lovely. We had plenty of dishes, pans, etc. to cook for our large group after going to the market. The walk into town is certainly do-able but most preferred to drive. The Wednesday market was fabulous as always and we found that the town is even nicer than it was when we were there two years ago. Since many in the group had never been to the area, we went to Glanum, St. Paul's to see where Van Gogh spent one of his last years, Les Beaux for the charming town and to hike through the castle ruins, Gordes, and always a dinner at Mas des Gres near Ile Sur La Sorgue. A great jumping off point to all of the charming towns in Provence!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Had a fantastic few days in the pretty village of St. Remy. The house was in a quiet location within walking distance of the centre of St. Remy. The facilities in the house are extensive and all of a high standard. The kitchen is very well equipped and the bedrooms are large and have excellent on suite bathrooms. The pool was perfect for our 3 children aged 10 to 14. Visited a couple of restaurants which were friendly and had great food. Would definitely be booking again next year.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

About the owner: We are a young English family who have holidayed in Provence for years and liked it so much we bought a home here.
Why the Owner Chose St. Remy de Provence:
The clear blue sky, stars at night, wonderful food and wine produced locally, the friendly people, and so many amenities within the town of St Remy, the amazing history of this area, and above all the climate and lifestyle provides lifetime memories every vacation. This is our family holiday home - we hope you love it as much as we do
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
We love relaxing by the pool, sitting in the shade and reading a book. Wednesday market is a must - fresh produce for the week - we cook at home and enjoy with some local wine of course. In the afternoons we walk into town and enjoy the seasonal activities. We can walk from our home up through the Alpilles; there are so many routes and we admire the landscape as Cezanne and Van Gogh did. We visit the many nearby villages and dine out in so many excellant local eateries - on our return we sit back and relax in our beautiful home and enjoy some local digestifs!
