Beautiful cabin on Lake Superior with a fully treed and very natural landscape. The views of the sunrise and sunset alone were worth the trip. Excellent location in Lutsen and close to Grand Marais, Finland, and other areas for outdoor activities.

We really enjoyed our time at Superior Solitude. It was great going to a place where you have no close neighbors, it was so peaceful. Having the lake so close like that was also fabulous - it was like our own slice of heaven. The cabin was very comfortable and very nicely furnished. Thank you so much for letting us spend our vacation there. We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful stay; the area is gorgeous, and the cabin is very cozy. There are lots of great places to visit that are nearby, like Grand Marais and the Cascade River State Park. We loved the fact that the cabin is pet-friendly, and would love to come back someday!

We stayed for 4 nights to celebrate our honeymoon and we couldn't have picked a more perfect get-away. The only thing missing was our dog! The home is beautiful! Very inviting and the owner has made it very acommodating. We had everything we needed and more to make our stay enjoyable. Super clean! Incredible views and access to Lake Superior. We can't wait to go back in the Summer/Fall to enjoy the rocks and the water. I ended up coming down with strep prior to our arrival and the owner was very accomodating in us needing to change our reservation. Quick responses with all communication, too. I've been recommending this house to everyone we know!

Secluded and wonderful

Fell in love from the moment we turned in to property...large doe standing in driveway. Cabin was all we had hoped for. Well appointed, great laundry, superb beds!! Comfy couches and recliner, absolute musts when on vacation.Views were awesome. Storm waves really huge and impressive. Amazing sun and moon rises. Each day was a new panorama of water and sky, you just never tired of the variety. Watched ore boats come and go. Dog was in heaven, you welcome pets by providing the dog blankets for the couch. A day of hiking left our girl happy and she crashed on her doggie blanket every day. None of us wanted to leave. We will be back.

We absolutely love this place - the location, amenities, overall atmosphere, cleanliness, space, and the fact that it's dog friendly. The minute we leave we start talking about when we can go back. We've rented a number of cabins on the North Shore over the years, but since we've found Superior Solitude we just keep going back.

WOW...where to start other than this is the best cabin that we have ever stayed!!! We have now been up there for the last couple of years and most recently stayed 10 nights last summer. This place is so comfortable and clean...which can be very hard to find up north as we have stayed at numerous places over the years. The beds are so comfy that you just never want to get up. Having amenities like a dishwasher and washer/dryer is also a real plus. The location is ideal and extremely private. The wrap around deck is just beautiful and so close to the lake. The panoramic views from all over the house are amazing. It is nice that its pet friendly (you wouldn't ever be able to tell as its cleaned so well upon arrival) and there is plenty of room for our dog Kodi to roam. The owners are SO helpful and friendly. As you can see I can't say enough good about this place. We can't wait to get back again in 2010!!!

We owned property on Lake Superior for over 12 years. There are three very important factors re: Lake Superior property: access to shore, privacy and distance from major state highway. This rental is excellent in all respects. Cabin is delightful ... would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone seeking a true "Lake Superior" experience.

We owned cabins on Lake Superior for years. On Lake Superior you really want access to the shore, privacy and a good buffer between you and the main highway. This cabin offers all of these plus it has a great deck to enjoy the most beautiful body of water on this earth just 50 feet away!

What a delightful getaway! We enjoyed everything about the cabin and location. It was particularly nice to not hear the traffic on the highway like we have at many other places on the northshore.

We stayed here for 10 days in August 2007 and had an absolutely fabulous time. Our daughter and son-in-law from Rush City visited for a couple of days and they thought it was a perfect spot. The view is fantastic, the deck is a wonderful place for a leisurely breakfast and sun tanning and the rocks in front a great for fishing (I didn't catch anything, but that's okay), sun bathing, swimming (for short spurts) and launching the kayaks. I personally launched mine down at Cut Face Creek (I have a little vertigo) and kayaked back to the cabin; also fished on the way, but again did not catch anything but a little sun posioning on my lip. The winds were light for our days there and we only had about 15 minutes of rain in the 10 days -- until the last day when it did rain which was okay as we had to leave. We ate pie from the pie place, had dinner at Cascade one night and Dave and I drove up to the Gunflint Lodge twice and enjoyed their Walleye Chowder which was out of this world and their hamburger and salad with the rasperberry vinagrette which were outstanding. The scenery is like no other place we have traveled to and the people are so friendly and wonderful wherever you go. I highly recommend this as a place to stay as the setting is just quiet and gorgeous! What a get away from the city! Dave and Nancy Crichton

What a beautiful vacation spot! This comfortable, cozy cabin offers some of the best views and sounds of Lake Superior around. We enjoyed climbing on the rocky shoreline, grilling on the magnificent wrap-around deck, and playing cards in front of a crackling fire in the natural stone fireplace. Our time there was most enjoyable and we plan to return.
