We did both a Golf and Beach vacation, Had a wonderful time, played some top notch courses and thanks to the home ower, we received wonderful guidence to local Restaurants and Golf courses. The beach was very clean, its easy to find Cabanamen to rent chairs and Umbrella's. We had terrific walks every day, lots of sun and fun, beach bar's were great and food outstanding! The house is made for relaxing, great rear porch, deck, TV's is all rooms, the 100"+ TV is state of the art and we watched a movie from the terrific Library found in the home. The Kitchen is over the top and adjoining bar was a garthering place for drinks and settling our Golfl bets and deciding where to go for a meal. All is close and reasonable........you will truly enjoy your time in Kismet... we cannot wait to return..........Tks for all...............!!!!!

My high school son, middle school daughter and I stayed at Kismet during spring break. My son wanted to be in Seaside the entire time, so we wanted to stay someplace close. Wow-not only did we score on distance (about 1 mile to Seaside), but we absolutely loved our accomodations. The house is located in a wonderful sbudivision with two pools (one right around the corner from the house). The beach is about .5 miles away from Kismet. We walked one day (a leisurely 15 minute stroll) and biked the others. There is a nice beach access directly across from the entrance of the subdivision which included a bike rack. I rented bikes before our arrival and had them delivered/picked up so we did not have to worry about them. I highly suggest getting bikes because it is so easy and fun seeing the area from two wheels. The house itself is quaint and very much like a home away from home. We had everything we needed and cooked out one evening on the grill. We also spent a lot of time on the front porch. I highly reccomend this house and hope to rent it again in the future.

My immediate family of 4 and my mother had a great spring break week at Kismet --the house is not a typical 'rental home' but rather is the owner's personal vacation retreat with great extra touches throughout the house (I read two of the books on their shelves while there!) --we really enjoyed relaxing on the back deck, porch, hammock, front porch, media room...ah, lots of relaxing! the kitchen was well equipped (although it took us to day 3 to realize that there is a nice pantry for food storage located in the adjacent laundry room) and we did a lot of cooking! We watched movies in the new media room (and brought our Wii so our son could get his Lego Star Wars fix) and had enough room to each have our own space (I was known to disappear into the master suite sitting room to drink coffee and read during the rain storms! Loved hearing the rain on the tin roof and watching the state forest that abuts the home). We brought our bikes and rented beach chairs etc., because it is a bit o' a hike to the beach, but I just considered it part of my workout regime and we really enjoyed having an all-terrain wagon to cart our copious beach provisions with. Community is lovely and quiet --and with two neighborhood pools and tennis, it's easy to not want to leave at all. We really enjoyed biking to the new Whiskey Bravo bar and restaurant and not even having to go out to the main road! Thanks very much --we will most definitely be back!

Great place to stay. We love the floor plan of this house. This is our second time to stay in Kismet & we really enjoyed the new Media room. I loved watching the NCAA basketball tournament on the huge HD screen. The house is so cozy & comfortable and has all the amenitites one could ask for. Kismet definitely offers a lot of bang for the buck. We plan to come again.

Our family recently stayed at Kismet cottage. There were only 4 of us (2 parents, 2 college kids). The cottage holds more. We were very happy with Kismet. Kismet is located in an adorable neighborhood at Seagrove Beach. The cottage/house is open and spacious and very nicely decorated. The kitchen was better stocked than I have ever seen at a rental house. The new media room's projection TV was great, although we didn't stay long enough to have any rainy days to watch many movies or TV. The owner does a great job making her guests feel welcome. We plan on renting again when we are able to make it back down that way. One note - the house is located in the back of the neighborhood, so it is a good walk to the beach, but it worked out fine with us.

I can't say enough good things about Kismet. It is truly a special place. Not only is the home decorated in fun beach style, it is extremely comfortable and relaxing. I have visited many beaches and homes over my lifetime...and this one is truly the most special. The screened in front porch and swing was the venue for relaxing talks and early morning cups of coffee. The arrangement of the bedrooms and living space lends itself for a big house feel with a cottage charm. We loved it!

kismet is amazing and so comfortable. The house is not just a vacation rental but a home in a beautiful surrounding! We love love love the short walk to the beach and in to Seaside. It's wonderful to have a full day on the water then return home to cook, sit on the porch, listen to music or watch one one of many movies available then pile up in the most comfortable beds. I simply can not wait to book another vacation at Kismet. Oh, and Ms. McFarland, I adore the landscaping! thank you for a wonderful time.

Great little hide-a-way near Seaside and Watercolors. We rode our bikes everywhere. We rode our bikes to Watercolors for Yoga and stopped by Seaside for coffee every morning. It was nice to be near Seaside, but not in the middle of it all. The cottage is well stocked and very private. Thanks for sharing your beach home and we will come again. Enjoy!

Kismet is a wonderful place to stay at Seaside, Florida. We loved reading books on the swing in the screened-in porch. The house is surrounded by trees which makes it really peaceful. We also loved visiting the nearby beach and cooking in the well-equipped kitchen. It felt like we were staying at a friend's house. We will definitely be repeat visitors!

We just returned from a week at Kismet and must say that it was one of the best weeks we have ever spent on vacation ! We took five 17 year-olds with us on this venture and they had a blast as well. It was nice knowing the kids could pile up in the jeep and take off and be completely safe. Kismet is a GREAT house with the most comfortable beds in the world ! There was plenty of space with 9 people - no one ever felt crowded. The front porch is the perfect place for your 1st morning cup of coffee ! Make sure you drive down to Deer Lake State Park - the water is beautiful and there were few people, even during the week of the 4th - great waves for boogey boarding and skim boarding! My wife and I have been staying in Sea Grove area for over 17 years. This past week, June 11-18, was by far the best time we have ever had. (We had our dog die on us last summer) We owe it all to McFarland's and their unbelievable beach house, Kismet. It truly was "Meant To Be" If I could've found a way, we would have never left. I'm sure that the other guest wouldn't mind a couple more hanging out with them. Last summer we had the opportunity to adopted two little girls. A one and three years old. Needless to say, our traditional beach trip of never leaving The Red Bar had to be adjusted a little bit. So we went looking for beach houses and found Kismet. We needed a kid friendly, pet friendly place that we didn’t have to scarifies the things we love about going to Sea Grove. Once again, It Was Meant To Be. Our two girls had a blast. Every morning we got up and went straight to the screened-in front porch. We colored and played until we hit the beach. Our little Chihuahua, Jake, had just as much fun as the girls did. I might have to build a front port at my house back home. Jake keeps wanting to go sit in the sun on it. We hope to make this our yearly beach hang out.

We just returned from a week at Kismet. We took our 3 children (10,8, 5) and our little Maltese. We felt so comfortable at Kismet that even the kids started referring to it as "home". Everything about it is perfect...from the comfy, overstuffed furniture to the great video selection. We will return many times.

My friends and I have just gone through our first year of college. Just meeting this year, it was our first Spring Break together and Kismet Cottage has made it a memorable one. We grilled out on the back porch and made hamburgers, but not being the best cooks, they looked more like meatballs. The movie collection came in handy as well! This was our first experience at renting a house for vacation. We were to be in FL for our son's wedding and we needed accommodations for 9-10 people all arriving at different times. We liked Kismet the first time we saw it online, but I kept looking thinking there might be other places just as nice and closer to the beach. There were other places we checked out, but none seemed to fit our needs quite as well as Kismet. We were glad we chose Kismet - I think all of us were very pleased with the whole experience there. The Cottage was spacious, homey, decorated in colors I love, had a very relaxing atmosphere, and just an all around great place to spend a vacation. The walk to the beach was a little longer than I had expected, but it was enjoyable and good for the body, and along the way we met some nice neighbors.

We stayed at Kismet for four days during Spring Break. It is a wonderful place. We felt like we were borrowing the home from friends. It feels so much like a home - not a generic rental. The kitchen is perfect for cooking family meals. The front screened porch is wonderful for winding down in the evenings. The master bath is magazine perfect. And the selection of movies, CD's, games and books will keep you occupied for days. The walk to the beach does take about 15 minutes but it is an enjoyable walk through a beautiful neighborhood. And yes, you can have rental bikes delivered right to your door if you want them.

We thoroughly enjoyed the comfort of Kismet. The beds are wonderful and the kitchen is as well stocked as my own at home. On the two rainy days in January we enjoyed choosing from the library of movies and through out the stay I was kept busy reading some of the books and recipe books. The roomyness of the house and the proximity to the beach as well as the style of the neighborhood with the pools and the tennis courts makes for a perfect family vacation spot. I had the opportunity to enjoy Kismet for the first time recently. I can only say that the website photos do not do it justice. I was overwhelmed with how spacious it was. I loved the front porch and all of the amenities it has to offer. It is stocked with great books and movies and is only a very short and enjoyable walk to the beach. It is truly a home away from home and very, very comfortable! I would highly recommend it, but hope that when I want to rent it, it will still be available! Kismet is everything you want your vacation home to be...and more!

We love Kismet. So much, in fact, that I don't want to even say how much for fear it will get too popular and we won't be able to get in next time! But I'll overcome my trepidation and say how lovely, comfortable, well equiped, charming, etc, this home is. Snapshots of memories include the wonderful cool feel of shiny hardwood floors on bicycle-weary feet, the slam of the screen door evoking such nostalgia, the brilliant canopy of stars, the quiet of the neighborhood, our Golden Retriever sleeping in the afternoon sunlight on the porch, knitting on the sofa watching a good movie from your collection. The house was perfect. Great beds, bathrooms, etc Located in a quiet development with easy access to beach, Seaside, etc. We enjoyed the use of the tennis courts. We rode rented bikes everywhere. Kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils, pans ,etc. and great for cooking and eating in. Large and comfortable dining table. Entertainment center at house is well stocked with movies and music cds for all ages. Front porch with swing was great for early morning reading or late night relaxing!!!
