The house fit our family of 11 quite nicely. There was plenty of space inside and out. The house is located on the Hilo side, which worked out well for us most days. It is a short walk down to the ocean to watch the sunrise. We appreciated the beach chairs and sand toys that were available as well.

The house itself was spacious. Weather typical Hilo...rainy, but that was good for the encatchment.

Wonderful place for a family vacation!
Wonderful place for a family vacation!
We recently went on vacation with my family of 5 plus my in-laws, so 7 of us total! This home was perfect for us. It was roomy enough that we weren't standing on top of each other, very clean, and well stocked. We loved being able to cook dinner together each night and eat out on the lovely lanai. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. Highly recommend this vacation home!

Christmas in Hawaii
Christmas in Hawaii
We came with 3 grand daughters, (teenagers) to give them Christmas in Hawaii. We loved the house, it had every thing we needed. You may not want to use Google to find it, it had us a block off and on a very rainy night, it was hard to read the road signs. With 3 girls wanting a swimming beach it did require some driving, but the drives were beautiful. The 4 mile scenic drive north of Hilo is well worth the detour. The yard with the beautiful palms, the geckos,(even though a bit load!) and roar of the ocean was truly awesome! We had breakfast & dinner most nights on the Lani which was really nice. We bought most of our produce in old Hilo Town at the Farmers Market, (how does 6 papayas for a dollar sound?) Needless to say we had Papayas , Pineapples, Bananas, Mangoes, Passion Fruit, Oranges, Limes, Lemons, etc twice a day, every day! We shopped at the KTA store for most of our staplels, they have a great meat department and bakery, we noticed that is where the locals shop. We Bar B Q'ed most nights.t The girls liked swimming in the Warm Pools that were about 20 minutes away, and on a very scenic drive.

Thank you so much for allowing our Track & Field team stay at your beautiful home. Everything was perfect. It was nice and clean and there were no problems. All of the kitchen items we needed was there to prepare meals for our team and the girls really enjoyed their stay. We were in contact with Anna throughout the reservation process and she answered all my questions and concerns promptly. I highly recommend this property to anyone who needs a place to stay for a few nights. We were there for a State Tournament and I felt that having everyone under one roof is better than staying at a hotel.

Second stat as good as the first!

We had a fantastic time staying at Lahiki O Ka Hale for the second straight year. We liked it so much last year that we chose to spend part of our Honeymoon there this April. The location can't be beat as a base of operations for exploring the Hilo side of the island. In minutes one can be in Hilo strolling along Banyan Drive, checking out which celebs and public figures planted the majestic beauties so long ago. Just about the same length of time in the opposite direction finds you checking out the devastation, and subsequent new life of rebirth, at Kaimu or relaxing in the hot pool at Ahalanui. And the neighborhood is located right near the turnoff to head up to the Volcano National Park, get a jump on all the day-trippers driving in from Kona. As for the house itself, it's all you could ask at a price you can't believe. Both bedroom are very spacious, and with two full baths it really helps manage the morning routine. The place is immaculate, and tips and equipment (sealed trash can) are provided to help keep it that way, and keep the critters away during your visit. Cable tv and internet with wireless are provided. Beach toys including chairs, mats, snorkel sets and more are in a closet for use. An overly spacious lanai makes a great place to sit in the evening and listen to the frogs.

Manager response: Thank you Walt! I hope your honeymoon was fantastic!!
This rental was the best selection for our needs. Family that lives out of state, stayed here during our sister's funeral. We found that this rental was a home away from home, and found comfort everyday we stayed. Very nice.

Manager response: Thank you very much for the lovely response. I'm sorry for the circumstances, but I'm glad you could find a "home away from home" during this time. Take Care!!! Mahalo!
Anna was easy to work with and very flexible with our needs. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The house is very spacious. The only thing I would recommend is an AC. It did get hot from around 10 a.m., other than that this is a great place to stay. Very close to the coast line. In the evening you have a great breeze on the lanai. Neighborhood fairly quiet. We took advantage of Anna's Mango tree!!!!! Yummy. Also right across of the house on 1st street there's a Waiwi plant with delicious fruit also. I will be back if I ever need to stay in Puna. Thanks Anna!
