We had a fantastic time staying at Lahiki O Ka Hale for the second straight year. We liked it so much last year that we chose to spend part of our Honeymoon there this April. The location can't be beat as a base of operations for exploring the Hilo side of the island. In minutes one can be in Hilo strolling along Banyan Drive, checking out which celebs and public figures planted the majestic beauties so long ago. Just about the same length of time in the opposite direction finds you checking out the devastation, and subsequent new life of rebirth, at Kaimu or relaxing in the hot pool at Ahalanui. And the neighborhood is located right near the turnoff to head up to the Volcano National Park, get a jump on all the day-trippers driving in from Kona. As for the house itself, it's all you could ask at a price you can't believe. Both bedroom are very spacious, and with two full baths it really helps manage the morning routine. The place is immaculate, and tips and equipment (sealed trash can) are provided to help keep it that way, and keep the critters away during your visit. Cable tv and internet with wireless are provided. Beach toys including chairs, mats, snorkel sets and more are in a closet for use. An overly spacious lanai makes a great place to sit in the evening and listen to the frogs.
Owner response:Thank you Walt! I hope your honeymoon was fantastic!!

This rental was the best selection for our needs. Family that lives out of state, stayed here during our sister's funeral. We found that this rental was a home away from home, and found comfort everyday we stayed. Very nice.
Owner response:Thank you very much for the lovely response. I'm sorry for the circumstances, but I'm glad you could find a "home away from home" during this time. Take Care!!! Mahalo!

Anna was easy to work with and very flexible with our needs. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The house is very spacious. The only thing I would recommend is an AC. It did get hot from around 10 a.m., other than that this is a great place to stay. Very close to the coast line. In the evening you have a great breeze on the lanai. Neighborhood fairly quiet. We took advantage of Anna's Mango tree!!!!! Yummy. Also right across of the house on 1st street there's a Waiwi plant with delicious fruit also. I will be back if I ever need to stay in Puna. Thanks Anna!
