Lake Nantahala cabin description

A great lake escape, is just what it says. Escape from your frantic, fast paced, stressed out life. Come up to the lake and relax on any of the three decks or outside in the hot tub overlooking the lake on a quiet cove. Paddle around the lake on the two available kayaks or the canoe!! If the evenings are a little chilly turn on one of the two gas fireplaces,(one in the loft, one on the main floor).

We are close to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Nantahala National Park for Hiking the Appalachian and Bartram Trails. The Nantahala Outdoor Center for rafting, kayaking and biking is just a 45 minute beautiful ride away.

This a a wonderful ROMANTIC getaway for couples or FUN for small families. What an opportunity to be able to spend quality time together and reconnect while being in the great outdoors.

WOW What a beautiful cabin!! The pictures do not do this cabin justice!! My wife, sister and law & I rented the cabin for 5 nights and we had a great time! The cabin was very clean and very comfortable. It was in a very quiet area. It seemed to be in the middle of no-where, but we found a lot of things to do. The scenery was spectacular!! Wish the weather was a bit warmer so we could have enjoyed the lake, but maybe on our next trip. Cherisse's directions were perfect & she was always available when needed. She's a great lady. We had a great time going thru Deals Gap & in Cherokee. Thank You so much for letting us rent your cabin.

If you want to get away from it all this is the place to go. Me, my husband and 4yr old grandson spent a long weekend at this wonderfull cabin. What a large beautiful lake! We enjoyed 2 days of sunshine to get outside and explore nature and one rainy day spent inside in our pajamas playing games (which are provided!) thank goodness for Scrabble. It was wonderful to have no cell or Internet service, gave us time to read and unwind. My grandson was very happy to learn that he could still watch his cartoons on the cable tv provided. The cabin is clean, comfortable and equipped with everything you need for your stay. The hottub felt wonderful on those cool nights and my grandson loved the jetted tub at bath time! We dove out to otter creek trout farm where we caught 5 nice trout that my husband seasoned and grilled up for us one evening. A fun thing for young kids to do and makes for a great meal. We will definately return in the summer. I noticed an earlier comment about downstairs bed mattress, apparently it's been replaced because I am in love with that bed! Slept like a queen:)

This place was awesome!!! I brought my wife and kids and we had a blast! The kids actually stayed in the bed upstairs and my wife and I had the bedroom downstairs, and we all slept like logs. The cabin was spotless, roomy, well stocked, and extremely comfortable. The highlight was the floating dock down at the lake. We used the kayaks and canoe. My kids, age 17 and 10, had a blast kayaking all over the cove where the cabin is located. It was extremely quiet, with just the sound of the running water of Little Choga creek hitting the lake, and the occasional call of the ducks in the lake or the birds in the trees. It's a bit of a haul to get to(don't bring a low riding car), but, if you are looking to get away from it all, this is the place. With no cell phone service, the only thing I would recommend is a WIFI system(my teenage daughter was having withdrawals!). I left totally relaxed and will definitely be coming back!

The cabin is located in a high-elevation, private & wooded community, which is a nice escape. The cabin has direct lake access on a private cove, which is awesome. The gravel roads to the cabin were long, steep and winding, which made it nice for an afternoon hike. Our lake cabin was fully equipped with everything you would need, including all kitchen appliances, washer & dryer, and supplies for 3 nights. My 1st suggestion- maybe a stereo in the living room. The cabin was clean, neat, spacious and the décor was pleasant. It had nice kitchen & island for prep, a fireplace, large TV and whirlpool Jacuzzi tub upstairs. The disappointment was the 1st floor bed; it was very uncomfortable and neither one of us could sleep. My 2nd suggestions is to replace the box spring & mattress. Although the cabin had a hot tub, we didn't use it. The hot tub was clean and we may have used it if there were more seating on the deck. There was a wicker rocker there but maybe some all-weather seating. My 3rd suggestion is to add more seating near the hot tub plus a table to put your towels & drinks on. Seating on the 1st floor deck was good; it had (2) "all-weather" chairs, cocktail table and bench for two. We spent every evening there while cooking on the grill, listening to music (brought our boom box) and just relaxing. We even saw some hummingbirds fly in to take a drink from one of the feeders. 4th suggestion is to add some cushions for extra comfort, maybe in a deck box. My 5th suggestion would be to add an "outdoor" dining set so that you can eat outside. 6th suggestion is to look into fixing or replacing the grill. Although the grill worked and we cooked every night, the cover was falling off and the top rack was bent so it couldn't be used. During our stay we took our tubes down to the lake and just floated around, which was so relaxing. There were a few mallard ducks and 5 ducklings near our dock, so we fed them every day (highlight of my trip). Plus the male mallard followed us around on the lake while we floated around, which was really awesome. Although the cabin had kayaks we didn't end up using them because they had water in them; the owner may want to check into this. We didn't get a chance to use the canoe either because it was raining so much. Even though it was a rainy weekend, hubby and I really enjoyed our private and relaxing time at the lake.

We planned to spend a few days of our spring break at the cabin and were so pleased with the clean and well equipped home. While we were there we had typical springtime mountain weather...rain, wind and 9 inches of snow! Despite the weather, we did get out on the canoe and took some great winter walks. We spent lots of time in the hot tub and playing games in front of the fireplace. Thank you for a beautiful, clean pace to stay...we look forward to coming back, when its warm!

This place was WONDERFUL! The cabin was beautifuly nested on the mountain-side overlooking Lake Nantahala. The lake and floating dock were a short walk down a path from the back decks where we had access to 2 kayaks and a canoe. The cabin was extremely clean and well equipped with everything we needed.( pots, pans, dishes, towels, satellite TV, fireplaces and hot tub on back deck) I would also like to say that owner was super nice and very accomodating since we booked at the last minute. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a vacation rental in the mountains of North Carolina. We will be staying here again!!!

What a perfect getaway for the two of us! The pictures didn't do it justice at all. Not only did this cozy cabin have a great layout and feel new, it had everything we needed! We both love the water and couldn't asked for a better location right on the lake! The cabin is secluded, but yet a scenic and short trip to Andrews, Franklin or Bryson City. Sitting on the back deck was a real treat for us - we were able to watch the humming birds fly all around. The best part (if you love the water like we do), you have the wonderful opportunity to take the canoe out a couple of times, use the two kayaks and get a dip in the hot tub during your stay. The owner was a pleasure to work with and will certainly be back in the future. Thank you for making it special! Savannah Ga Couple

My wife and stayed here, and were very pleasantly surprised by our accommodations and our surrounding environs. We usually try to make a mountain trip once a year or so, and I believe this cabin will be our destination from here on out. Cherisse was wonderful to work with in every stage of the booking and staying process. In short, DO NOT HESITATE TO STAY HERE!

My husband and I were so excited to stumble upon this glorious mountain retreat. The owner was very gracious in accommodating our last minute scheduling request for our 4 night stay. The cabin is simply gorgeous inside and out. We spent our days exploring surrounding towns of Franklin, Andrews, Murphy and Bryson City. Our evenings were spent sitting on the dock, paddling the lake in the canoe, and enjoying the night air and mountain sounds while relaxing in the wonderful hot tub on the deck. We rested well every night and found the upstairs bed to be extremely comfortable. This proved to be the perfect mountain retreat for our relaxation and renewal of mind, body and spirit. We highly recommend!

I have stayed at numerous rentals, and cabins in the NC area, and I would rate this as one of the best so far. The pictures don't really do it justice. This place was really beautifully decorated. It was quite roomy, and very clean. It's obvious the owners take good care of this place. It also seemed pretty new outside and in. One big plus for me was that it had a monitored alarm system. I felt a lot better about leaving all my camera gear at the house while driving around in the mountains all day. The owner was very nice, and responded quickly to my many questions. Me and my buddy stayed here while mountain biking at the Tsali trails, and had a great time hanging out on the dock, and swimming after finding out how out of shape we are at the bike trails. Sitting on a quiet end of Lake Nantahala, this place was very relaxing. For the price you will not find anything this nice in such a beautiful location anywhere! The only things that might be an issue to some is that there is no cell service or internet as this place is quite secluded from the busy parts of the world. However there is a land line with free long distance in case you still need to call the office!
