We planned to spend a few days of our spring break at the cabin and were so pleased with the clean and well equipped home. While we were there we had typical springtime mountain weather...rain, wind and 9 inches of snow! Despite the weather, we did get out on the canoe and took some great winter walks. We spent lots of time in the hot tub and playing games in front of the fireplace. Thank you for a beautiful, clean pace to stay...we look forward to coming back, when its warm!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

This place was WONDERFUL! The cabin was beautifuly nested on the mountain-side overlooking Lake Nantahala. The lake and floating dock were a short walk down a path from the back decks where we had access to 2 kayaks and a canoe. The cabin was extremely clean and well equipped with everything we needed.( pots, pans, dishes, towels, satellite TV, fireplaces and hot tub on back deck) I would also like to say that owner was super nice and very accomodating since we booked at the last minute. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a vacation rental in the mountains of North Carolina. We will be staying here again!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What a perfect getaway for the two of us! The pictures didn't do it justice at all. Not only did this cozy cabin have a great layout and feel new, it had everything we needed! We both love the water and couldn't asked for a better location right on the lake! The cabin is secluded, but yet a scenic and short trip to Andrews, Franklin or Bryson City. Sitting on the back deck was a real treat for us - we were able to watch the humming birds fly all around. The best part (if you love the water like we do), you have the wonderful opportunity to take the canoe out a couple of times, use the two kayaks and get a dip in the hot tub during your stay. The owner was a pleasure to work with and will certainly be back in the future. Thank you for making it special! My wife and stayed here, and were very pleasantly surprised by our accommodations and our surrounding environs. We usually try to make a mountain trip once a year or so, and I believe this cabin will be our destination from here on out. Cherisse was wonderful to work with in every stage of the booking and staying process. In short, DO NOT HESITATE TO STAY HERE!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

My husband and I were so excited to stumble upon this glorious mountain retreat. The owner was very gracious in accommodating our last minute scheduling request for our 4 night stay. The cabin is simply gorgeous inside and out. We spent our days exploring surrounding towns of Franklin, Andrews, Murphy and Bryson City. Our evenings were spent sitting on the dock, paddling the lake in the canoe, and enjoying the night air and mountain sounds while relaxing in the wonderful hot tub on the deck. We rested well every night and found the upstairs bed to be extremely comfortable. This proved to be the perfect mountain retreat for our relaxation and renewal of mind, body and spirit. We highly recommend!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I have stayed at numerous rentals, and cabins in the NC area, and I would rate this as one of the best so far. The pictures don't really do it justice. This place was really beautifully decorated. It was quite roomy, and very clean. It's obvious the owners take good care of this place. It also seemed pretty new outside and in. One big plus for me was that it had a monitored alarm system. I felt a lot better about leaving all my camera gear at the house while driving around in the mountains all day. The owner was very nice, and responded quickly to my many questions. Me and my buddy stayed here while mountain biking at the Tsali trails, and had a great time hanging out on the dock, and swimming after finding out how out of shape we are at the bike trails. Sitting on a quiet end of Lake Nantahala, this place was very relaxing. For the price you will not find anything this nice in such a beautiful location anywhere! The only things that might be an issue to some is that there is no cell service or internet as this place is quite secluded from the busy parts of the world. However there is a land line with free long distance in case you still need to call the office!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This place is unbelievable. My best friend and I stayed here for a week and couldn't believe that we found this place on line and it was way more than what we expected. We rented a boat at the Marina from Steve, who was such a nice guy. The lake is so clear we could see the fish. We fished all day and relaxed and drank yard sodas on the back porch. Thank you for providing such a great place for such a great price. I will definately be back with the fam. The pictures of this cabin don't do it justice. It is so much nicer in person, and that's saying a lot since the pictures are great! The house is clean and beautiful and new. The kayaks and canoes and hot tub were a definite plus and enjoyed by all! The cove is nice and quiet. The cabin was easy to find and the advice about backing in to park was needed. Prepare to hang out on the lake or at the cabin because there is not much around the area to do. The owner was very helpful in answering all of our questions. My only suggestion would be to have a picnic table on one of the porches so everyone could eat outside! All in all, a fabulous place! We will come again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

I can't say enough thank yous to the owner for not only providing such an affordable, beautiful, clean cabin, but for being so nice and helpful when we made a last minute booking!! The cabin is even nicer than the great pictures here and Lake Nantahalah is so clean and beautiful! Everything was just wonderful! Loved the hot tub on the deck at night listening to the little peeper frogs and the great jacuzzi tub in the loft bathroom after a long day of kayaking and fishing. Had only one rainy cold day, but had fun watching TV by the gas fire and taking a cozy nap. Saw an amaziing full rainbow, and the three of us (my husband, fifteen year old son, and myself) all caught two small mouth bass each! The owner is so thoughtful and accommodating. Thank you so much for a great four nights and five days! Love the cabin and love the lake! We HIGHLY recommend this beautiful cabin and will definitely come back!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Two of us old retired guys rented the cabin for three days and it was absolutely great. We were extremely satisfied with the cabin, and the location right on the water. The place had everything we needed. We spent every day fishing, and had great luck in spite of windy and wet weather. The directions were very accurate, and we had no problem finding the cabin. We definitely plan to return and my son is coming next time too.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I spent our 5th anniversary here over labor day weekend. Great cabin and location. Cabin was very new, nice layout and furnishings, awesome hot tub. We took the included kayaks out on the lake and sat on the dock. We hiked and did ww rafting in the day and then hopped in the hot tub to relax afterwards. Cabin was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Overall, a great place to get away from it all.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I just returned from 5 wonderful days at the Great Lake Escape, and we agree with all of the positive comments posted by previous visitors. And I need to say, before we stayed there, some of the comments sounded exaggerated. My first impression of the Great Lake Escape was, “This can not be a rental house”. I felt as though I were in a very good friend’s home and was privileged to be there. That feeling remained for our entire visit. The home is well appointed and tastefully decorated. The lake and surrounding areas greatly exceeded our expectations. I had expected some overcast or rainy weather during our stay and thought I would catch up on some of my reading. That was not to be, the weather was perfect, and we spent maximum time playing on the lake in some fashion or the other. The Great Lake Escape has great toys! and we used all of them.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

This is the second year my sister and I have rented this cabin, both stays were more than a week long. The cabin is always spotless when we arrive, the owner is excellent at communicating with you about any questions you have. The pictures are great, but you have to be there to experience it. The loft bedroom is just like being in a treehouse with your own private balcony. Everyday the temperature of the air, and light breeze off the lake is perfect, the water termperature is ideal for swimming. We paddle in the kayaks almost every day and have explored every end of the lake several times. It is so much fun paddling to the Lakes End Grill & Marina to have lunch or dinner. There is a beautiful island at the end of the cove it's a perfect short paddle and the best place for an evening swim and beautiful sunset, one our favorite things to do. We've seen deer come down to the shore for a drink, otter swimming, and there is a huge beaver house at the West end of the lake. Every morning we would sit on the porch reading, relaxing and watching the hummingbirds drink from the feeder. Every couple of days we would venture into Franklin or Murphy for a touch of reality. This cabin is truly the most relaxing, peaceful vacation I have ever had. Thank you for sharing your lovely piece of heaven with the rest of us.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

This is a new, well kept cabin on Lake Nantahala with all amenities included! Cabin is nicer than the pictures show! Owner is very easy to work with and the cabin was as shown on VRBO.com. Main lake access is very easy from the dock and owner provides 2 nice kayaks and canoes. It's a great area and the house was wonderful. Highly recommend!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This is a great cabin and a perfect location on the Lake. It is tucked away on a cove just below a waterfall that makes a wonderful sound. The cabin has everything you could possibly need during your stay. Everything is very clean, the decor is stylish and comfortable. The landscaping around the house is also beautiful - when we were there the daylilies were in full show and all of the walks are lined with gorgeous hostas. We've stayed at several places around the Lake and are always concerned about how easy or hard it is to get down to the Lake from a cabin. Cherisse's place is one of the best that we've found in terms of Lake access - compared to most it is gentle walk down to her dock. So we will definitely be back!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What an absolutely perfect Memorial Day weekend just spent at the Great Lake Escape. The house was absolutely immaculate, very well laid out, and had everything we needed. The Hot tub, on a cool mountain night, after a day on the lake, was perfect. Walk out to the dock, and the water is so clear, its hard to believe. I recommend taking the canoe out, which is provided, if you don't have a boat, because this lake has absolutely stunning views all around. The owner is very cordial and easy to deal with. I highly recommend this place.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I had a great romantic weekend in March at this sweet cabin. The weather was cool, but that made the hot tub even more enjoyable with it 's great view of the lake. The cabin is very open and light, like staying in a tree house. We look forward to another stay here and will recommend this to friends.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
