Welcome to our real log home located in the middle of Powder Mountain Resort’s 5,500 acres of Utah powder snow. We built this home because we love the solitude and friendliness of Powder Mountain, not to mention the incredible powder! Ski out the door to Sundown lift or take a short walk to Timberline Lift. Either way there are no lockers, no buses, and no parking spots to fight for. Enjoy the groomed trails, which are not overcrowded or the fresh powder of the back country. Powder Mountain was voted #1 in snow by Ski Magazine's readers in 2005. If you want to hit more than one resort while in Utah, Snow Basin is 30 min. away, renowned for its verticals and home of the 2002 men’s Olympic downhill.
We’ve built a dream log home, hand crafted inside and out of huge lodge pole pine logs. Inside we have made comfort and beauty our prerogative. After a great day of skiing, curl up with a book in front of the fire and enjoy the panoramic mountain view of the sunset, sky and ski slopes through the vast windows from the great room and master loft suite. At night, enjoy the view of the resort’s night skiing, a favorite with locals and visitors alike. The basement has a mudroom equipped with a washer and drier and a boot drier to make sure everything is ready for the next days run. There is a two car garage for parking and stowing your gear.
If you love to cook the kitchen is well equipped with quality cookware, fine appliances, granite counter tops and a breakfast bar. Whip up a great breakfast before you hit the slopes and a dinner to celebrate a day of skiing and riding. A BBQ grill is available for those who enjoy cooking outdoors. Take a break in the middle of the day and warm your toes by the fire for lunch at home or at one of the restaurants on the mountain. If you choose not to shop, our mountain hosts will shop for you, before and during your stay. The Valley Market is 20 minutes away and five miles down the road is Wolf Creek Lodge and the town of Eden with a variety of dining, from casual to gourmet.
Quality beds from Simmons Beauty Rest and cozy furniture throughout the house are provided for your comfort. Feather duvets are provided for each bed as well as a choice of medium or firm pillows. The master bedroom suite bath has a Jacuzzi tub and separate shower. The French doors open to the loft for a spectacular morning view of the mountain right from your king size bed. Downstairs has a fourth bedroom, which can be utilized for the privacy of a couple, or a family room for the kids, complete with its own bathroom, TV, and foosball table. A supply of games, books and puzzles for every age are provided.
In the summer you can enjoy the cool crisp mountain air and the quiet solitude of a mountain home. Enjoy views of the flora and fauna from every room in the house. We've seen deer wander by the kitchen window. Just minutes down the mountain, golf, fishing, hiking and boating are available in the beautiful upper Ogden valley. The deep blue Pineview Reservoir is a favorite summer recreation area. What a combination, the beauty of a lake with the snow-capped mountains in the background.

After skiing Utah for more than 30 years, we finally tried Powder Mountain- Wow! The snow was great and the vastness of the resort was a delightful surprise! The ski in ski out cabin, together with shuttle buses which stopped right outside our door made it easy for our larger group to come and go as each individual pleased. After a full day of skiing we enjoyed the many comforts of the cabin, including boot driers, and a hot tub on the deck which was truly spectacular in the dark of night with a breathtaking view of the stars. Some in our group took advantage of the night skiing and the back country cat track skiing. The cabin itself was well appointed with comfortable beds and we lacked for nothing in the kitchen. The owners were great to work with as was their property manager. Our group consensus - we plan on coming back again next year!
Owner response:Doug , Yes the hot tub at night under the stars is amazing. I love to cook when I am there, so I try to provide everything our guests need in the kitchen. We are glad we could accommodate your groups needs and that everyone was pleased. Thank you for taking such good care of our home. Dave was happy to be there for anything you needed and Tara was thrilled when she came to clean. We look forward to having you and your family back next year. You are now officially Pow Mow Groupies.

My family of 10 rented this property for two weeks. We paid considerably more than the published price on their website. Our family overall enjoyed their time at this house, however there were several items that must be mentioned. We experienced several nagging issues that took a while to resolve, and some that were not resolved. Starting with less than accurate directions to the home, and cell phones that do not work on Powder Mountain. Owners should tell renters that only Sprint and Nextel work. The refrigerator's ice maker was broken for the entire rental time. Our son had to take the gas fireplace apart to make it work consistently. On Christmas Eve the outside gas grill ran out of gas mid way through cooking, we found another gas canister in the garage, however it was empty. Shoes in the house are frowned upon, however my wife cut her foot on an open nail head in the main part of the home. It took several days to get the nail issue resolved. House sleeps 10, but their hot water tank is not large enough for this number of guests. Showers must be staggered due to size of tank. Hot water at sink is extremely hot, one 13 year old got scalded not realizing that the water is so hot. Renters should be made aware of the "hot" water at the sink. We spent more time in the house than normal, due to the abnormal amount of snow this season. Also, we realize this is no ones fault! Therefore the nagging issues of the home were magnified! We would rent again, however not at the rate we paid this year, as we feel we did not get what we paid for. House could not be more convenient for skiing, lack of snow made ski in - ski out not possible for us this season. Most kitchen items one would expect to find are provided, there was nothing related to cooking that was not there. Nearest large town is 19 miles away and has every attraction anyone would like to take part in from: movies, Solomon amusement center and lots of markets for food shopping.
Owner response:We regret that this rental did not go as well as either party would have liked and apologize for any inconvenience to our guests. We take great pride in our home and strive to keep our guests happy. Admittedly, some mistakes were made, while other factors were beyond our control, and were complicated further by the holidays. During their stay, we remained in constant contact with our guests at all times and worked to remedy their concerns as quickly as possible. As a token of our appreciation we sent a gift basket for New Years and allowed a late checkout free of charge. First, our apologies in the rate confusion. The person writing this review was not the person who contacted us for the rental. Her daughter, who we personally spoke with, was aware of the holiday rate increase as is clearly stated on the website. They signed the contract will all rates shown and sent payments without issue. The refrigerator’s ice maker froze up during their stay. They declined a repairman and accepted our offer of daily ice. The ice maker has now been fixed. The fireplace malfunctioned during their stay. When notified, we sent a technician to repair it. To our surprise their son had already taken it apart. When the technician arrived it was working. They declined additional repair. We have since had a professional technician repair it. A screw from the floorboard popped up. We regret any injury; however, these things sometimes happen in log homes. As soon as we heard about the screw we notified our manager, unfortunately the repair did take longer than expected due to the holiday and then him getting the flu. In response to the empty BBQ grill tank, we had a full tank delivered by snowmobile and hooked up hours after they notified us. We have added a double check for the tanks to our checklist to ensure that this will not happen again. The water heater is standard for a home; most homes do not allow for 10 consecutive showers, we usually point this out when speaking to the potential guest and apologize if we did not. Regarding information, in order to be helpful, we send out a 5 page packet of directions with points of reference such as cross streets & establishments to guide guests to our home. We mark accommodations they might need such as grocery, gear, and liquor stores. As our guests rightly point out, recent road changes have altered the route. We have changed the directions for future guests and added a note about cell phone coverage to the checklist.

Hi Donna. We had a terrific time, and as you assured us, the snow was spectacular. We skied three days at Powder Mountain and spent one at Snowbasin. Dave hooked us up very well with the best skis money can buy (for the conditions). I know you know this, but he is awesome. The place was as we remembered it - wonderful. Thanks again for offering up your beautiful home to us so that we can continue to make outstanding memories for ourselves. You can expect me to make contact with you again in the fall to plan for 2012.

This was the second time we've stayed at Donna and Joel's place. Just like the first time we stayed a few years back, this house was no less impressive. The addition of the hot tub just makes it all the much sweeter. Working with Donna and Joel to get our trip organized was a pleasure, they worked to get the place clean in a timely manner so we could hit the slopes for a 30 inch powder dump on our first day there. Donna even went the extra mile to recommend toys to take on the plane for our 16 month old boy. Our mountain host (Dave) was more friendly and helpful than you expect family to be. Anything we needed, from help finding an AT binding to be mounted on a new ski (he found one in SLC and picked it up after 11pm that night), to just looking for a shirt in his shop, this guy just doesn't know how to stop being nice. I highly recommend not only the house, but the people behind it. You will not be disappointed in your stay.
Owner response:Patrick, having you and your family is always a pleasure. I love working with guests to make their stay memorable, and am thrilled when the snow gods add their special touch. Dave is a gem, and we are so lucky to have him there to introduce guests to our home and the mountain. The pictures Kelli and you took were amazing. We have made a face book page for our friends to post their pictures...Log Heaven. I'll be posting the ones of Timmy in the squatters box! thank you for the lovely review, We love our home and the mountain and are glad to share it with great people like you, your family and friends. See you next year..I hope!

Hi Donna. We had a fantastic week at Pow Mow. All 8 of us said it was the best place we have ever skied. We had 3 days of bright sunny skies and then the snow started with about 3 feet of fresh snow. There truly were runs for all ski levels and we had a great time. The chalet was top notch with the best of all facilities. We cooked our Christmas turkey and also BBQ'd a few nights. We totally enjoyed our time at Pow Mow and look forward to a return to skiing at Powder Mountain in the future. Thanks again for sharing your special home with us. From the comfortable beds to the fully stocked kitchen to the hot tub, we all had a great time and hope to return in the future.

Thanks Donna for being so helpful and renting us this fabulous house. It really is beautiful. We really enjoyed staying there and the great proximity to the slopes. In fact, that was the only reason we left the house for 3 days. The bus took us up the hill and was never more than a 2 minute wait and we were able to ski down the hill right to the house. We had a lot of great powder and great skiing, and definitely plan on coming back asap!
