The cottage is very comfortable and nicely furnished with pretty much everything you need. It is definitely a higher end feeling kind of place with little touches that are fun, like an over sized master shower. They have an area set aside for a dog that is convenient and bringing our dog made the stay even more fun. We give the cottage a solid "A" The only disappointment was the amenities at the club house- neither hottub were hot or working, one was drained completely and the other was dirty. The club house grill was only open limited hours during spring break which was kind of surprising. We expected more activities at the club area but the only thing available to kids was a sand volleyball pit which the kids had to wait for. A basketball goal and a table tennis table or two would have been nice to have as a distraction for the kids since the hot tubs weren't working and the regular pool water was too chilly. Kayaks and small watercraft weren't immediately available at the marina. Our stay at the cottage , however, was great. The firepit was fun and gas grill worked great. The deck is nicely furnished with high quality patio furniture that made adult relaxation easy to accomplish. It is quiet and scenic-the owners clearly take good care of the home and don't skimp on quality.Owner response: Thanks for such a great review of our Cottage. We will always do everything possible to make it feel like home. Sorry that all the swimming facilities weren't in full operation in March. The full operation of the Beach Club started in April and it's beautiful. The hot tub is now hot and relaxing. You had a great idea to have a basketball goal and table tennis available. I'll pass that on to the Property Owners Association.

We had a great time in Austin and your cottage was the perfect place to stay. On our last night, my husband was looking at a brochure "Top Ten things to do in Austin". We managed to do them all, and still had time to enjoy the beautiful Beach Club. Thank you! KathyDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I want to thank you & Wendy for the use of your lovely home in the Hollows. We've thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! We are very sad to leave our grandson; he's spent many hours here with us hiking, fishing, exploring, & picnicking. We feel very blessed to be able to spend this time with him & stay a part of his life even though we live so far apart.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Take a vacation from life and enjoy one of Texas newest treasures. Comfortable for just the two of you or have your friends come after a day to enjoy your home away from home. A large deck to enjoy a quite evening, leather furniture to lounge on inside or escape to the lake for a clear adventure in the water. A must visit as the photos only begin to show how nice this place really is. Only a short drive into town or cook in a state of the art kitchen. We'll be back as soon! Thanks!Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

A sublime view from the spacious back deck. Serenely quiet and private. A beautiful house, wonderfully appointed with a Texas theme. Miles and miles of walking trails. Those are just a few descriptors of this splendid property in The Hollows where we recently spent a week. My wife and I spent several days and nights alone at the house before being joined by our kids and grandkids bringing the total up to five adults, a twelve year old, and two preschoolers. We didn't feel at all crowded. With four bathrooms nobody felt rushed. (And the master bathroom is enormous!) When the little ones needed a little extra room, we simply moved out to the back deck (railed and gated) for a while! Also making it very convenient for the two preschoolers, were the two Pack-and-Plays and high chairs. There's also a fenced area for dogs. The owners truly have thought of everything. Plenty of linens and towels. We cooked several meals, and found everything we needed in the large, well-equipped kitchen. One night we grilled hamburgers on the gas grill in the backyard, which is adjoined by a nice sitting area with a large stone fire ring. When we needed milk or other incidentals, it took just a few minutes to go to the grocery store in Lago Vista. For more serious grocery shopping we drove 20 minutes into Cedar Park, which also has a number of mid-scale restaurants (and, fortunately for my wife, a Starbucks.) We also traveled into Austin on several occasions to do some last minute Christmas shopping, (including at the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar - don't miss it, if you're in Austin in December!), a concert at the Paramount Theater, and a nice anniversary dinner. Depending on time-of-day and where in Austin, it might take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to make the one-way trip. Finally, dealing with the owners was a real pleasure. They answered our up-front questions, provided us with maps, keys, etc. and, in general, handled everything in a very organized and efficient manner. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We were so thrilled with our stay! The house was beautiful, perfect, and clean. They had everything you could have possibly needed (every cooking piece you can imagine, extra pillows, towels, blankets, sheets, Shampoo/Conditioner/soap, movies for all ages, high chairs, pack n play, box fans, and the list could go on). All we needed was food. We ate out on the patio that overlooked the hill country and played in the huge yard. Loved the gates at the top of the patio so the kids couldn't run away or fall down the stairs. Sunsets were gorgeous! The owners were so great to work with, we only gave them about 24hrs notice that we wanted to go and they got everything to us so quickly with all the details we needed. We had a great time and plan to go again!! Truly a great stay!!Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

My husband and I and our two little boys stayed at this lovely cabin last fall and had an absolute blast. The home is stunning, actually prettier in person than the photos show - and stocked with everything a family could need and then some. Also the community has lots of amenities which we took full advantage of. We all loved the gorgeous community pool with infinite edge and it was great having the restaurant and bar right there so we didn't have to dry off to go eat somewhere. Boat rentals were available right there for tooling around the lake and lovely landscaped walking trails are everywhere. Just a great all around experience. We are planning on coming back to this cabin for sure.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

What a wonderful resort home! Our time in your cottage was remarkable! There were endless sights, relaxation, and entertainment to be found. The nearby hiking trails, infinity swimming pools, and wonderful food were outstanding, and trips to nearby towns proved full of adventure and unique activities. Thank you! We'll be back.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2007
About the owner: For the last 25 years I have worked in the meeting and travel industry. I've stayed and inspected hundreds of resorts and fine hotels around the world. Quality and attention to details has always been important to me. Unlike most vacation rental properties my wife and I make sure that our cottage is always in a five star condition. We believe no one will ever leave our property disappointed.
Why the Owner Chose Jonestown:
After years of traveling around the world we decided that the beautiful Texas Hill Country and Austin was the place we want to be. There is so much to do in the Austin and Hill Country area. The people are friendly and fun to be around. We enjoy ourselves so much that we purchased 5 acres next door where we are ready to build our full time home and keep our Cottage for vacation renters.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The Cottage is unique situated with only 1 neighbor. It's surrounded by forests, hills, creeks, and the walking, hiking & biking trail system. The Cottage is great for those that want beauty, views and quietness. We think it's the best!
