This is the second time in the past 7 months we have stayed at the house, I can tell you that I love this house and I will be going back. The location of the home is great. the stairs are my favorite.. I love the privacy the house has not only inside, but outside as well. I will be back; your home is very relaxing.

We had the absolutely most fantastic time! I am still getting phone calls and emails from everyone who either stayed at the house, or attended the big birthday party/reunion at your fabulous house. It was all so wonderful, and so many terrific memories were created at the Seawall House!

Hi Ken. We had an awesome time celebrating our family Christmas at your house. The house was perfect for us... the layout of the house was great, the location was excellent, and it was so spacious with a well equipped kitchen and gameroom. We were able to enjoy the beach during the day - the sunrise over the water, looking for shells, flying kites, visiting shops along the Seawall, and awesome views from the balconies. The evening was filled with a visit from Santa, a gift exchange game, an ugly sweater contest, and a spaghetti dinner. We could not have been happier with our stay and look forward to renting this amazing house again. In addition, we would like to thank you for your kindness. It was a pleasure renting from you. Thanks so much! Barbara PS: Everyone was interested in hearing a little history on the house and the artwork. It really is beautiful

Mr. Shelton, I do have to say that I really enjoyed my stay at the house, and I am wanting to see about getting the house in Jan, from the 13-15 it is my 40th bday and I am choosing to be at your house for this bday. I have gloated about the house to many and I am very honored to spend the weekend at the house with my kids and my family for my bday. Can you please send me a quote for the weekend for the entire compound for this weekend.

We take our extended family on a vacation every summer using VRBO. This year we needed to stay closer to home and we came across this wonderful house on the Seawall. Let me first say that Ken was wonderful to work with. We have never had an owner who was so involved and cared so much about his guests. The interior pictures were entirely accurate and the home was clean and stocked when we arrived. We are a very large family with lots of kids and they loved the house. They turned the third floor into their personal bunk house. Every evening they would sit on the wall and watch the activity. Of course, the proximity to the beach is perfect. We didn't have to pack alot to take with us, we just walked across the street to have lunch, etc. Even with our record heat this year it was always pleasant sitting out on the huge porch and watching the ocean. The historic value of the house is amazing and if you are fortunate enough to stay here be sure to read some of the literature Ken has made available.You will also want to read the wonderful book that he published using his mothers drawings. It is a great house with plenty of room for everyone. Our entire family voted a resounding "yes" to coming back again!
Recommended for:Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

I had a wonderful time at Ken Shelton's Seawall House. The kids and the families favorite thing was sitting on Seawall Blvd. All the adults sat in the courtyard watching the kids. The house was perfect for a big group like us. All the kids slept in the loft with air mattresses and they loved it.

I recently chose the Seawall House to host a large group of friends for a weekend in Galveston. It turned out to be a great decision as everyone of my guests loved the location and the fact that the house had more than enough space for all of us. I highly recommend this to anyone hosting a larger group of family or friends as the location is perfect and what you see is essentially what you get as far as the house goes. In addition, Ken and his wife were great to work with in getting everything set up and remained accessible throughout our stay.

Hello Ken, I just sent a friend the info on the house, her daughter is marrying on next New Year's eve . I told her and you can quote me," it is a marvelous big family home, just perfect for gatherings. Ken Shelton, the owner, assisted us with all our needs. The visiting wee grandchildren and their parents loved to walk across the street just step to the lovely long beach. The house is truly a step back in time, but with all the modern amenities. Beds and linens comfy and fresh. We had a small party with Galvestonians, they had always wanted to see the interior and environs. They enjoyed seeing the art collection that reflected many historical and famous artists from Galveston. We rented the back two apts, just so we could have the entire compound to ourselves. The bottom apt was really nice and could be used for your good purposes

My two girlfriends from school and our kids stayed June 17-20. We had a GREAT time - plenty of room for everyone, awesome view of the ocean from all three balconies...I high recommend!

We all really enjoyed our stay at your rental property. The house is very well kept and neat. We all had enough space in the house. The kids enjoyed the hammocks and the loft for the teens. This is a place we would like to rent again in the future. Perfect location.

Also stayed July 08. Last summer we had a family reunion in Galveston and stayed at a wonderful place! The owner rents out his historic family home/complex and we were fortunate enough to get to stay there. If you are thinking of going to Galveston at anytime and would like the contact information for this wonderful and reasonable house and apartment on Seawall Blvd.

I just wanted to thank you so much for all the help you gave us with the rental of the Seawall House. The Leadership Retreat went off without a hitch and the associates loved the property. Two of the gentlemen were interested in leasing it next summer for their families. I have given them the information I had.
