13597 Beachwalk is great place to spend a vacation. We walk to the beach everyday. Also my frenchie and I spent alot of time of the wrap around porch. The condo is big and open. Loved the kitchen and living area. A friend at work has already looked at staying there next summer. Everything you can wish for is very close by, Grocery stores and fresh market !

Recommended for:Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Treehouse feeling with great amenities

The description, pictures, listed amenities, and other traveler's reviews were right on point. It is the most spacious one bedroom condo that I have ever experienced. Loved that tree house feeling while sitting on the deck. This was my first vacation to Hilton Head. Shipyard is a perfect blend of beautiful tropical foliage, wildlife and humans doing their thing. I loved bike riding on the beach.

Great time had by all! 2 adults and 2 lucky pomeranians enjoyed all the comforts of home in this great space. Convenient to all the attractions and mere steps away from a nice pool. Beach is a short walk (and even shorter bike ride) away. We hope to return next year! Ken, Dawn, Rusty and HoneyBee

First Pet Trip

This was our first beach vacation taking our dog. She had a great time ( she got worn out ). Went this past September and loved it. Our first time not directly on the beach, but well worth it to have our pet there. Very roomy, across from the pool, and met wonderful people everywhere. A great place to enjoy with or without your pet. A lot of places to walk your pet. Right next to a bike path and literally minutes to anywhere. We hope to stay at Beachwalk again. Kris or his wife are just a phone call away if you need to contact them. Again, I would recommend staying here with or without a pet. Thanks Kris for providing a pet friendly get away. Great location, close to everything on Hilton Head Island. Very spacious and clean with everything you need for perfect vacation. One week is not enough, we will be coming back again.

This was our second year staying in 149 Beachwalk. We love the location and had another great vacation. It is great finding a nice condo close to the beach that allows pets. Our dog, Baxer, loves the deck. We will be back again next year!

Hi Kris, We really liked this unit at Shipyard plantation! It worked out so well having the private deck to put the dogs out on from time to time. We loved it! There were hardly any other people in the complex so it was incredibly quiet! We arrived on Saturday the 22nd about 6pm and the temperature was about 65. We had a 75 degree temperature change from when we left (on the coldest day of the winter) and it was beautiful and sunny. The next morning, it had dropped down to the freezing mark but still sunny. I got up early and found the path and tried to figure which way to the beach - took the wrong way first because I couldn't see the sun. Once I saw it - I headed in that direction and voila - the beach! And so that was how I spent each morning - on a 50 minute walk with the dogs to the beach. It was great. One morning I was up early enough to watch the sunrise! Fabulous. The first two days were pretty chilly - in the 40s but we had a day that hit 68 and another in the 58 range - still nice weather for walking. I figure I walked with the dogs about 3 hours each day! Needless to say, they are still very tired since we got home last night. I wanted to mention something about the heating system - the duct work in the bedroom rattles non stop when the fan is running. Not sure what is the trouble with it - none of the other ducts do that. Albert checked the smoke detector the last day we were there and found it not working - battery needed replacement so he left a note on the table in the kitchen for the cleaning people. Anyway - we loved the place. We bought firelogs and had a fire on about 4 nights. It really was very comfortable. Loved the two huge bathrooms! We each had our own - that was a treat! And the chair in the corner of the bedroom is just fabulous. We both took turns sitting in it to read and each of experienced naps in short order! The sun pouring in and the heat duct above your head - perfect situation for napping! We had a very relaxing holiday. We loved the place and are planning to come back next year! In fact, if you still own the Cabana unit, we would like some of our friends to join us and stay over there. That is the only thing about holidays that we miss - our friends. So we have told them about the other unit and suggested that they may want to join us for a week. Thanks again for letting us stay at your place at Shipyard. We loved every minute of it. We have returned, and had a wonderful time! Although we did "check out" a day early; because of Charley the hurricane. The condo was wonderful and homey for us, the deck with baby gate worked out great for our dog. The entire plantation was absolutely beautiful , it was our first time on HIilton Head and we enjoyed it. Thank you for helping make our trip so pleasurable, our dog Annie loved it to!

Kris, I'm a little late posting a comment, but we had a WONDERFUL time in April. The Belle Dog loved the HUGE deck. It was such a short walk to the beach that it didn't seem like a walk at all. Also, the villa was perfect, much larger than I anticipated and it was very quiet, very peaceful. I hope we'll be able to rent from you again in the near future.

Hi, Kris. Just wanted to let you know that we enjoyed staying at your condo. Location was perfect and it was nice to have the room and personality of a condo instead of a hotel room. (My father has a rental home on the Outer Banks-- I understand how personal owners are much more appreciative of the business than hotels are... and the accomodations are usually better too so it's a win/win situation!) Dear Kris, We received our check for damage deposit promptly. Thank you very much. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Hilton Head. The rental unit was wonderful and was equipped with everything you could ever want. It was neat and clean and our little poodle thought your deck was doggie Heaven. The close proximity to the beach and pool was so handy. We had never been to Hilton Head so we explored daily. Kris - We had a fabulous week staying at your place in the heart of Hilton Head Island. The unit is well equipped, feels like home, and is so convenient to the beach, bike trails, and the restaurants and shopping along Pope Avenue and Coligny Plaza. Definitely 4 to 6 people could stay in the unit, we will most definitely come back and stay there again in the future, especially when we want to bring our lab to the beach. Kris, We had a wonderful time in Hilton Head! Your villa was lovely - actually much nicer than we even expected! The area was very peaceful and everyone we met there was quite friendly. I was very pleased with how close the villa is to the beach, and even what a pleasant short walk it was. It was great to have the washer and dryer in the villa - I took advantage of that a couple of times - and I think you are absolutely brilliant to have the combination lock on the door! It was very freeing not to have to carry a key on our walks. It was a beautiful beach, also. We were thrilled to see an alligator and a Great Blue Heron. All in all, we had a great trip and hope to return again next year! Margot

Mr. Kelly, Sorry to be so late in giving you our impression of our stay at 149 Beachwalk this past June/July. We had a wonderful time both at the beach and in the condo unit. It was very spacious and set up quite nicely and we really enjoyed the proximity to the beach and the bike paths. We hope to return again next year. Several thoughts from my wife that would make the stay a little more convenient. More towels, more toilet paper and perhaps more cooking utensils (pans especially). My husband and I recently stayed in your villa with our dog Libby. We were very happy with the spacious villa, everything was nice. The location was nice, close to the beach. We enjoyed walking our Dog on the paths in the Shipyard Plantation and taking her to the beach in the evening. We were really appreciative of the beach chairs and umberella that you had available. We will definately keep your place in mind if we return to Hilton Head.

We stayed there last summer & loved it. The location is great...close to beach & pool. We loved being able to bring our dog. Great having 2 full baths & the furnishings are really nice. Bedroom is huge & we enjoyed the deck. Our son & daughter-in-law came to spend a few days & thought the sofa bed was very comfortable. All in all a wonderful experience & beautiful villa. Kris, Thank you so very much for allowing us to rent your condo, it is lovely and we enjoyed every minute there. The weather wasn't the best, but hey, we took our books, and we walked in the rain, had great food, and we had our dog, so we were happy. What a big condo it is, biggest 1 bedroom we have ever rented. Tasha never sleeps in our bedroom at home, she sleeps downstairs in our study. We took a sheet, put it on the floor at the end of the bed, she slept like a log. She was very good, didn't bark, didn't mess on your floor, we always wiped her feet, even took her hair dryer so we could have her dry! We truly enjoyed our time there. Thanks again, Kris. I washed and dried the towels, had them folded and in the closet. Sheets were washed and in the dryer, they were through but I didn't get them folded. Betty

Hi - we had a great vacation in you villa at Shipyard. We appreciated this quiet plantation. There were so many areas available to walk our dog, we had a good time, too. Your villa was perfect for us - I had though 1 bedroom would mean more the size of a studio, so I was so thrilled when we arrived to find a full sized villa and the 1 bedroom was enormous! Having two baths makes a big difference as well, the three of us were very comfortable. Oh, the deck - wow! I brought a door gate so our dog was able to stay out with us while we enjoyed the wrap around deck - a real bonus. I think we were lucky that week. We have been to HHI many times during the summer and have never enjoyed being able to stay outside because of the heat and humidity. Perhaps because your villa was closer to the ocean. Anyway, it was a pleasure - I think you have about the best location in Beachwalk and the second floor is a good unit. The bikes need some work I think. My son said the chain kept coming off. It would be a plus to have those available for your future renters. Thanks again - hope to stay in your villa in the future. The Glenn's
