Our old cider farm is situated right in the middle of the Cotentin and Bessin Regional Nature Park, an area that consists of traditional hedgerow countryside with vast meadows which flood during the winter months. The marshes are crossed with rivers and open out to the sea on either side of the peninsula. The river Taut flows through the meadow at the rear of the farmhouse and within a short stroll you can be on its banks enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the area and surveying the natural beauty. River trips are available in nearby Carentan. The surrounding area is full of places of interest and discovery trails.
The farmhouse itself, is also rich in history, celebrated in the area for its use during the D Day Landings, (Operation Overlord) by US Paratroopers, who having landed in the flooded marshes at the back of the house, sought refuge in the outbuildings. Use of the secluded garden for outside dining or barbeques is available.
