WOW! Everything described in this property description was more than accurate. It was wonderful to sit on the balcony and watch the surfers during the day and the sunset in the evening. It was in a convenient location with restaurants and shops nearby. The interior of the property was up-to-date and very neat and clean. I would recommend this property to everyone. There is not one negative comment on this property. We have just recently enjoyed our third annual stay in Candace's condo. The oceanfront view from Kamoa Point to the south to the Kailua Kona harbor to the north with all of the surfers on the Banyan Break in front of the condo has to be the best on the Kona Coast. Our days started on the lanai with a cup of Kona coffee and reading the West Hawaii newspaper from the convenient Banyan Mart across the street. We took daily walks both up and down the coast on Alii Drive, and sometimes ventured mauka to the residential neighborhoods for an uphill workout. This year we took two excursions with Hawaii Forest and Trail who do an excellent job of not only showing us the sights, but also explaining the Hawaiian history of the area. Our favorite dinner site this year was the Kona Inn and for a sunset sandwich we like Humpy's. This condo is a very comfortable place to get on island time and relax, enjoying the excellent Kona weather. Thanks Candace for a wonderful stay! D & LDid you find this review helpful? We've visited the Big Island twice, Maui twice and Kauai and the accomodations at this condo were the best. It is everything in the pictures and more. If you are planning a visit to the Big Island stop searching and book this condo. We can't wait until we visit again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Mahalo Jack! I am so happy to hear that you and Mary had such a wonderful vacation. Many thanks for taking time out of your daily schedule to write such an awesome review~ With Much Aloha, Candace

This was an amazing place to stay for our recent honeymoon! We loved every minute of it. The pictures are completely accurate. I had daydreamed about this place after booking it, and it exceeded my expectations. My husband and I spent most evenings at the condo grilling out under the stars listening to the waves and enjoying the wonderful weather. We had lots of adventures planned on the island, but we could have spent the whole time at the condo. Great place! Thanks for sharing your place with us!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

First, let me say the ocean view from this condo is absolutely breathtaking beyond words. Everything about this unit is exactly as the owner described, and it is exactly what my husband and I anticipated...and more! The unit is beautifully decorated with comfortable, high end furnishings throughout. What you see in the photos really is what you get, and more. The kitchen is fully equiped and well adorned with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances...and the ocean view again from here is awesome! Our son is 14 and loved his own room which was also tastefully decorated and comfortable. He was happy with the Wi-Fi and never turned on the TV. The Master bed was comfortable and the gentle roar of the ocean was like a soothing lulliby every night we were there. In addition, the owners had a nice selection of water toys; boogie boards, snorkle gear, an Umbrella, beach chairs and mats, and a cooler that we used to pack lunch and drinks while we were traveling around the island. The unit is quiet and close to everything. We used the pool and the hot tub every day and the grounds were clean and well maintained including new grass and a very nice new rock wall that was recently replaced. Everything about this condo was perfect for us. We stayed for two weeks and it wasn't long enough..We are now planning another trip to The Big Island for three weeks and there is no need to look any further...this is definately the place to stay. Mahalo Candace!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Mahalo Teresa! It truly makes me happy to know that you had a great Big Island family vacation while staying in my little slice of heaven! I too love the sound of the waves and I sleep soundly. Many thanks Teresa for your wonderful review and I look forward to your family's return! With Much Aloha, Candace

I looked at several ocean front condos before deciding to stay at Banyan Tree #204. We had 2 main criteria, a direct oceanfront view close to the waves, and a comfortable bed. I spoke with Candace about her property and we decided it was the place for us on our first trip to the Big Island. We have been to Hawaii 5 tiimes now, and have always stayed in an ocean front condo. When we opened the door to this condo we were blown away!! We love to hear the ocean and left both sliding glass doors open whenever we were in the condo. The sound of the waves lulled us to sleep every night, and the pillow top king size bed was very comfortable. We rented this condo for just my wife and I, even though it is a 2 bedroom because of the view and location on the water. The condo is approx. 3 miles South of Kona on Alii drive and is nicely situated between Kona and Keahou. We are both in our late 40's and absolutely loved staying here. We did not want to leave!! Everyone told us that 10 days on the Big Island is not a very long time, and I would have to agree. We only touched on the things we wanted to see and do. A return trip in the very near future in already in the planning stages. Candace, the owner of the condo is outstanding. I called her a few times before we arrived with questions, and she is more than happy to give suggestions. The condo is very newly remodeled and we had everything we needed, and them some. The condo is located in a nice area that is a little out of the main Kona area, which is what we were looking for. We did not hear any traffic from Alii Drive as we always had the doors open listening to the ocean. Honestly, I don't even know if the condo has air conditioning as we used the ceiling fans and left the doors open. We also love to watch the sunset every night and this condo has a direct view to watch the setting sun. If you are looking for a beautiful condo, with comfortable beds, direct ocean front views and sounds, you can't go wrong with Banyan Tree #204. We will be back!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

This was our second stay at Candaces’s condo and it was as wonderful as the first. We love this location for our daily walks and the on-ocean view has to be one of the best in the Kona area. We enjoyed many quiet days and dining –in using the well equipped kitchen and on-site grill. Our restaurant recommendations this year are Fish Hoppers and Kona Inn for calamari and seafood main dishes, Humpy’s and LuLu’s for inexpensive happy hours and sunsets during dinner. We enjoyed excursions to the top of Mauna Kea, Kahua Ranch BBQ, and the Waipio Valley mule drawn wagon tour. If you are an inexperienced snorkeler, Kahalu’u Beach is just a couple miles south, flat and clear water with plenty of friendly tropical fish to see. It would appear that the secret is out on this condo if one looks at the availability calendar. We are partly responsible for filling up the calendar as we have already booked our 2013 dates.Owner response: Mahalo for your review! I really appreciate the time your have taken to not only write such an amazing review, but also to let other vacationers know of your great local finds. Very helpful! I am so thankful for your return each year and I look forward to hearing about your next years adventures! Many, many thanks! With much aloha, Candace

What a great holiday! This beautiful condo is very clean, stocked with everything you could ever need for the beach, and has a view to die for! We loved it so much that it was difficult to get going to see the rest of the island. Even our teenagers wanted to just chill out at the condo. The kitchen is lovely- stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops and stocked with everything you can think of. We really appreciated having enough paper towels, toilet paper, soap, etc to get a good start on our two week vacation. Thanks so much for a wonderful holiday !Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: Mahalo for you review! I too am mesmerized by the view and can sit for hours upon hours taking in my surroundings! It is just so magical. And it truly warms my heart to know that everyone in the family had a great vacation! With much aloha,Candace

My wife, two children (13 & 10) and I spent Christmas 2011 here and had a fantastic time. Nice quiet location, but close to everything you'd ever need. The Banyan Mart right across the street was very convenient for the little things you forgot, and their beer & wine was actually cheaper than at Walmart. All the beach equipment was great, saved us time & money, we added a Volleyball to the collection. My boy appreciated the XBOX too. Candace was great to deal with, we had no issues with this rental at all, we will be back!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

After planning and saving for years to take a trip to Hawaii, we are so glad that we stayed at Candice's piece of paradise. Everything was perfect! The location, the views, the surfers and the condo itself all added up for an unforgettable trip. We had 3 boys with us who loved walking out each morning to see what the ocean left behind. The surfing show right outside the condo was amazing. The manager of the condo was very friendly and helpful. All of the beach toys and coolers, mats and towels made it easy to take off on adventures without adding a lot of expense. We loved it and can't wait to go back someday. Thanks CandiceRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much Matt and Cheryl for your wonderful review! It was so nice of you to take time out of your daily schedules to write this review. And I know your lives are busy! It makes me so happy to hear that your family vacation to Hawaii was awesome. Your boys would love to watch the ocean during whale season...it is incredible. My boys could sit all day and watch the surfers, dolphins, fish, sea turtles and then you add the whales..they love it as do I! Again, thank you so much and I look forward to your return. About the owner: Michael and Candace Spinali, San Diego , California. Michael is a San Diego native and Candace is from Michigan. We have been married for 24 years and have two children. Our oldest son Michael is a student at SDSU (Electrical Engineering) and our youngest son Cole is in the 9th grade and loves to play volleyball 24/7. We have been going to Hawaii for over a decade now! We are Realtors in La Jolla, California and enjoy our island getaway. Our condo is our sanctuary..peaceful,private,tranquil.. and a definite detox remedy for life in the fast lane!
Why the Owner Chose Banyan Tree:
After exploring the Hawaiian Islands we narrowed our search for a vacation home to the Big Island. It took us three years of looking to finally find our getaway!(And several months of construction once we did find it!) Our 'had to have list' was extensive. We knew what we wanted because we had vacationed in so many other vacation homes. We had to be on the ocean ( we had to be able to view sunsets, surfers, and whales from the unit!), the lanai had to be private(no fishbowl!) we had to have two bedrooms ...the master had to have a king sized pillowtop bed and the guest room had to be able to have two full beds ( our oldest son is 6'4' and still growing! ) We love our sanctuary! The sound of the waves, the view from almost every room, the 40' wall of glass to let the view in, the pool is fantastic, and the local people are beautiful! We love Kona and look forward to returning everytime we go...and then we hate to leave and we always plan our next visit before we even get on the plane to leave! It truly is paradise...it's the perfect place to unwind and escape from everyday busy life! It is a magical place and we love sharing our island home with families from all over the world!
