  What a wonderful memory and what a wonderful villa! We surprised our family by deciding to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary and inviting our family and friends to help us celebrate this special occasion. We searched for quite a while to find the right location that could accomodate our group and we are so happy that we selected this villa and Cozumel, Mexico for our trip. We could not have chosen a more beautiful place . Reyna, our housekeeper was fantastic, the villa was clean and immaculately maintained. We had all the comforts of home and thoroughly enjoyed our week in beautiful Cozumel. We were advised to rent a car (which we may not have done) and we are so glad we did. We got to see many parts of the island that we would have never seen by taxi. All the recommendations were excellent regarding restaurants (there is a 3-ring binder notebook in the kitchen with great recommendations) and other fun things to do. We did snorkeling, hit the town for shopping and even took some of the group (golfers) to Cozumell Coutry Club for a round of golf. Our children and their friends ranged in ages from 33 to 21including our grandson of 1-1/2 years and our stay was fantastic for all. Everyone had such a great time and these memories will last a lifetime. Our trip was made even more pleasant and enjoyable by the wonderful staff and owners. We hope to return again to paradise better known as "Cozumel by the Sea"! Thank you for making our anniversary the "Event of the Year" for us and our family!!

  From the moment we arrived at Palati Mou, we knew we would be in Island Heaven!! Our first night found us learning salsa on the rooftop amongst the stars with a private salsa instructor! Four giddy girls ready to learn some steps so we could salsa dance in town with the locals. Our instructor gave us tips on what places would be best that week to salsa at and we took full advantage of our new skills and had a blast in town! We all immediately melted into the island way of life and let the week unfold as we relaxed and just let it flow. Waking up when we wanted, enjoying coffee on the rooftop deck, breakfasts on the beautiful veranda, swinging in the hammocks while having long talks, wandering down to the beach and taking long walks, paddle boarding or continuing our life discussions that only kicking back in the sand can bring. We had to pry ourselves away from the property to venture out to some beautiful snorkeling spots of which Punta Sur was a favorite! All of the recommendations by Shirl for dining out or activities will help you plan the kind of vacation you have dreamt about. And if she happens to be on the island when you are, meeting her is a must, as she is full of excitement with love of the area and of meeting people! She also is a diver and has much knowledge in that area. As far a Palati Mou, there can be no other place like it on the island. This is it! The most beautiful penthouse I have ever seen, in the most beautiful part of Cozumel! A storybook place to visit that you will not want to leave, or that will leave you longing to come back!

  Condo was great. Genny (the housekeeper) was wonderful. She was pleasant and she did what she could do to help when we had an accident with our rental vehicle. She did a great job cooking up the fish we caught. The atmosphere was just what we were looking for. Quiet and relaxed. We were two families (4 adults and 6 children). Everyone loved it. We all wanted to stay another week.

  This penthouse is 5000 square feet of paradise. Although it's rather large with 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, the owner does specials off season to accommodate fewer guests at a very affordable rate which is how we came to know this property for just the two of us... The decor is has a perfect island feel, unlike some properties furnished like a New York apartment which is where we are from. The owner Shirl and her ability to assist you to plan what you need via email does an amazing job from start to finish with all communication, she is very easy to work with and understands the importance of making the vacation transaction an extremely pleasant one. The information she provides will give you every detail imaginable so that you can maximize your days and nights without wondering if you are selecting the appropriate excursion. Shir is a great resource so if you've never been to Cozumel you are in the most capable hands with her recommendations. What we liked most was that the recommendations are not tourist traps. The owner recommends value and what she has experienced so there is no guessing, the explanations are extremely helpful. The private staff that works for the owner is amazing. She takes care of every detail with a smile. She's always smiling, you can tell she lovers her job, she treats the home like she owns it and the guests like family. I recommend renting a car on the island or a Harley if you like motorcycles. The owner recommended a car at Thrifty online is best price and we rented a Harley for a day and thoroughly enjoyed the bike and the experience of driving around to the other side of the island. The snorkeling at Punta Sur is another must if you're not a scuba diver. Upon arriving to the property it was a pleasure to see that the property is even more beautiful than the professional photos on the website. It is a great location which we have completely fallen in love with. The beach and ocean is right out frunt as are the sunsets from the rooftop solarium where the pool is located is just the perfect setting and will take your breath away! We have traveled to Cozumel many times. I am a diver, my wife snorkels and we find that it is perfect for both of us. We rent properties all the time on the island. We'll look no further for each return. The staff truly cares for this home and we will always be certain that we will receive it in beautiful condition. It was such a pleasure to occupy this property during our stay!

  Where do I start? Myself and 5 other wonderful, hard working women needed a vacation from the realitites of life. As luck would have it, we found paradise in Cozumel at Palati Mou. When I first walked in, I had to pinch myself to know that this villa is where I was going to be living for the next five days! However, because five women can be pretty loud when excited, we scared Jinny the housekeeper whom we all came to love. The villa was so spacious that it accommodated all five of us with room to spare! The location by the beach couldn't have been more perfect and within no time at all, our toes were sinking in the sand and we were all staring at the clear, blue water in quiet amazement (but only for a minute - try keeping five women quiet!) Our next pleasant surprise was when we met the owner, Shirl, who we all immediately loved. She became our instant friend and we had a blast hanging out with her - she's hilarious and loves to have fun! We all can't wait to go back to Palati Mou and are still talking about how amazing the trip was. You can't leave Cozumel without booking a snorkeling trip with Carlos - he will treat you like family!

  Owner response: Well hello, I know that you all prefer to refer to yourselves as that 7 letter word we are not allowed to use on this public site, by I would prefer to refer to you more gracefully as my dear new sisters by the sea… I had just moved out of the penthouse and into our other apartment on the first floor in the same building to accommodate the reservation of these 6 chicks from Texas! It was a beautiful day so my windows and doors were open allowing for the splendor of the cross breeze and the sound of the birds coming from mangroves to fill my ears, as I worked on a computer project. I, not easily distracted heard the rumbles of a taxi pulling up and the sounds of many women with suitcases. They have arrived! As each of them passed by my window, I could see and hear their excitement and feel their positive energy, sounded like to fun to ignore…a few minutes later as they were settling in, off in the distance I could still hear the echo of laughter from their balcony. I’m not often on the island during guest reservations. I manage the staff and reservation business on the internet as a hobby, my island staff does a great job greeting guests and making sure they have everything they need, but I could not resist taking a trip upstairs for a good Mexican/American welcome. My welcome turned into taking a few of them to the grocery store, followed by each of them inviting me to dinner on their first night in town…I joined them on a day at sea snorkeling, one night when they realized they couldn’t have food delivered at 10:00 PM, I brought them some Italian sauce and pasta I just finished making and enjoyed watching them indulge… What I enjoyed most were the afternoons at the private beach in front of the property speaking with them, all with various backgrounds, about life, morals, values, words of wisdom and their advice about things that women generally reflect on in chatter. Without judgment or pretense, each of them brought wonderful insight to so many different aspects of the things that matter most in life. I am thankful to have met you Carol, Carolyn, Sylvia, Patti, Debbie and Gale your positive energy will remain on the grounds at the Residencias and in my heart for years to come! Thank you for turning this girl from Connecticut into a Texas chick during your stay! You’re a fabulous group of women!!!

  The grounds and living space were immaculate and offered many amenities not to mention the great view, and the convenience of the beach. The staff were very friendly and accommodating providing a elite, yet traditional feel. This will be the only place I stay when in Cozumel and I strongly recommend staying at Cozumel by the Sea. Elite,second to none.

  Palati Mou, which means "my palace" in Greek is truly a divers palace in paradise! This property is located on the south of the island, so the reef is just a quick boat ride away and the dive operators will pick you up right in front of the property. There is a rinse tank by the pool at the beach which makes it really easy to clean your gear. There are hooks to hang your gear on the rooftop solarium another added bonus for divers. I've traveled around the world in my semi-retirement and have experienced many vacation rental properties and dive sites. I am drawn to Cozumel at least a few times a year as it's has one of the largest coral reefs in the world. After finding this property this past December, I will never look for another vacation rental property in Cozumel again, this is it! We have already booked our return visit in the next few months. The owner pays attention to every detail you can imagine; private staff who clean daily and it's the cleanest rental we've ever experienced in our lives, the staff will prepare meals for you if that's your desire, they provide an extensive list of island vendors to work with for diving, snorkeling, fishing, car rental, in-house massage therapist from local spas who visit by appointment. It's amazing to dive during the day, have a meal prepared for your return, followed by an in-house massage and then a sleep in a very comfortable bed with high quality linens, heaven, yes!!! My wife is not a diver and wanted salsa dancing lessons, the owner connected her with a private instructor who came to the property by appointment several times a week. The owner also provides a list of the best shopping, every restaurant recommended is outstanding!!! The kitchen is stocked with just about every spice to cook yourself, making it cost effective to shop for food, and I'd also like to mention a huge selection of teas. Most rentals have salt, pepper and sugar if your lucky, this one has it all! It's like they are truly sharing this home in fact they are. The last minute specials for 2-4 guests make having this beautiful property all to yourself at an affordable cost truly unique. Everything about this palace in paradise is unique, the private pool on the roof, beautiful sunsets every night, the attentiveness of the owners, staff and exceptional condition of the property is remarkable. It's so comfortable, easy to relax and enjoy your precious vacation time here, look no further. You will be completely satisfied!

  This was our third year staying at this condo and we could not have imagined a more perfect vacation. The condo is just beautiful and very clean and the staff is always friendly and kind and even waited for our one year old to wake up from his nap to clean the room. The beach is just a few steps away and there is a kid friendly pool available. The sunsets viewed from the rooftop are simply breath taking and very romantic. The location is perfect for the adventure seeker, party goer, romantic or anyone who just wants to relax and let the stress melt away. We highly recommend this condo to anyone and everyone, it is a must see and we look forward to returning year after year.

  This was our 4th trip back to stay at Cozumel-by-the-Sea and it couldn't have been better! The property is truly amazing and is alwasy kept in immaculate shape. Our family loves the place! The "hints and tips" packet provided by the owners takes all the guess work out of staying on the island and really gives you the insider's view to Cozumel's attractions and vendors. We've already booked next year's reservation (that pretty much says how much we like Cozumel-by-the Sea!!!).

  One of the best vacation spots I have ever enjoyed! Condo was wonderful and we managed to house six women while all of us feeling like we were in our own little paradise. Extremely clean and well stocked with anything we needed. All the employees at the Site were extremely accommodating and could have not gone more out of their way to help with any of our concerns . . . from Taxis to Snorkeling to Beautiful Beaches. I will not hesitate to travel to this marvelous property again. More than a condo . . . the property became our own piece of heaven!
