Why the Owner Chose Barrier Dunes
My husband and I fell in love with Cape San Blas 18 years ago. We vacationed there every chance we could. We like it better than Hawaii or the Caribbean. Barrier Dunes is a beautiful community of very friendly people. It is safe, quiet, and pristine.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome
The beaches are awesome with white sugar-like sand. The water has waves of different hues of blues and greens, and is crystal clear. The stars at night are spectatular. There are two swimming pools, tennis courts and fresh water ponds. It truly is a relaxing family getaway. It takes only 27 seconds to walk from our door to the beach. I am a mother of two amazing children. I am a huge animal advocate, and have two large dogs,a Golden Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix, and a German Shepherd. My hobbies are gardening, sewing and decorating. Last, but not least, I love being near the ocean!! It energizes and relaxes me at the same time.

I have been going to the Cape now for 4 years. I ALWAYS stay at Vickie's (Peace of the Cape). I just had to come on here and remark, as I have stated in the past, Vickie has EVERYTHING you could ever need... when she says just bring your swim suit and toothbrush, she means it! I am amazed every time I go at the detail and the extent she goes to assure you have everything you need to have the most wonderful, relaxing experience. WELL... this trip, I walked in the door and Wow! The Condo has been re-decorated! New carpet, new Very Cool hardwood floors (looks like ship deck!)... new paint, new look... I was so surprised! This condo was neat and pretty before, but now it is neat, pretty and very cool! Love the new look! I just happened to pick a week that it rained most of the week. One thing I had never really noticed before, she has a huge collection of movies and books as well as games! Again, I ONLY go to 'Peace of the Cape' now... but out of years and years of using VRBO this is by far the best rental unit I have ever found. Other owners should take lessons from this one, as always, I am very impressed! :-)

My whole family enjoyed our vacation on the Cape and especially loved our accommodations. The condo was stocked with everything we could possibly need and more! It was clean, comfortable and within steps to the beach. It was also right across from the pool. The beach is beautiful and the kids loved surfing the waves, collecting shells and strolling the beach by moonlight. We are looking forward to coming back down again!

One of the most relaxing, carefree vactions that our family has ever had. The condo has everything that you need to make your stay feel like home. The owner was very easy to deal with; even calling after our arrival to make sure that we had everything we needed to make our stay more pleasant. The uncrowded beach was great and meeting everyone (and their dogs) was wonderful. The kids really enjoyed building the bonfires on the beach. I have recommended this to several people and we will definately be back.

We spent a week in late March there very last minute. Vickie (owner) was amazing and very accommodating to us. She was great on the phone and gave some great information on Cape San Blas... We had 2 dogs and she assured me that they would have a blast and they did. The dogs couldnt get enough of the beach since there is no restriction on times that you can take them out. The unit is located literally a 30 second walk before you are touching the sand. You can easily see the ocean from the balcony. Great spot and across from the clubhouse and pool. The beach is amazing and very laid back. Everyone is a dog lover around there. The sand is powder white. The sunsets are to DIE for. You will never see stars at night like you will see here. I highly recommend this unit and the owner is excellent and very responsive... Enjoy!

I can't say enough great things about my long Memorial Day Weekend stay at Vickie's condo, Peace of Cape. The beach was gorgeous and the weather was perfect. Even my two four-legged babies, Austin and Archie, had a blast watching the people and digging in the sand to discover unknown treasures. Sitting on the beach watching the sunset was amazing. You've never seen such vibrant colors and a spectacular wonder. The condo was so very relaxing. It was hard to choose between lounging on either deck or just sitting on the couch. It had everything I could have wanted and then some. I can't imagine staying anywhere else whenever I want to getaway to the Cape!!!

My name is Tabitha, I have already been to the Cape once this year and plan on going back as often as possible! Peyton (my dog) and I loved it!! Vickie is one of the nicest ladies I have met! She worked with me and was wonderful to make sure my time at her "home away from home" was great! The condo is very well stocked! Every kind of dish/pot or pan you could need and plenty of them! I have rented from many VBO's and normally it is just the bare basics... not Vickie, she makes sure you have everything you need, from coolers to floats to a beach wagon to take everything down. Out of several places I have stayed at the Cape, Vickie's is the only one I will go back to! I hope you find her beautiful condo as relaxing and welcoming as I did!! Sincerely, Tabitha S.

I just returned from another stay at Peace of Cape in Cape San Blas. Another FIVE STARS experience!! This home is SO clean, comfortable, quiet, safe and STOCKED. The only thing that isn't provided is food. It just doesn't get any better than that. The beach is beautiful - and has never been crowded. It's been easy to relax there: strolling along the shore searching for sea shells (lots of 'em); reading a good book; or just closing your eyes and listening to the rhythm of the waves. Oh, and the sunsets are awesome! I've been here with a good friend; with my brother and niece; and finally with my husband. We'll be back!

Our experience at "Peace of Cape" was excellent. The house has everything you could possibly need and the Barrier Dunes community is great. Being just steps to the beach was fabulous. The beaches are clean and expansive. You can walk for miles. The water is just as clear as the carribbean. We saw dolphins swimming close to shore on more than one occasion and schools of fish were everywhere. I would definitely return! The best part for us was having our dog with us at the beach. It was so great being able to play with him in the water and watch him rest in the sand. So many places these days do not allow dogs on the beach so this was a great experience for us. The house is completely dog friendly, too! The outdoor shower with handhelf shower head is great for spraying sand off of dirty dogs! Just note: it's best to stock up on groceries before you get on the Cape and cook your own meals. There are only a small handful of restaurants on the Cape without driving to the farther out towns. This place is great if you're planning on staying at the property the duration of your trip.
