Great cove location with wide, open lake/mountain views and deep water (dock extension ensures use year round). We have had a vacation rental home in this area for 17 years. Our home has easy access to both Hayesville, NC and Hiawassee, GA, with paved level roads all the way. We're in a quiet neighborhood but not far from 175.
You'll feel as though you're in an Italian Villa, with a large family room and open kitchen plan that is perfect for gatherings. Enjoy the gourmet kitchen, 66' wide refrigerator and freezer, gas stove top, double ovens, and two sinks—perfect for the chef in the family. Of course, we have a microwave if you don't want to cook. The laundry room is on the main floor. In family room, 30' wood ceiling and prow with windows all the way to the top showcase the magnificent lake/mountain view. We have a gas fireplace that heats up the family room in cool months. Detox or warm up in the sauna, a perfect follow-up for a dip in the lake. For those who want to work while they're on vacation, there's an office with built-in desks that also overlooks the lake. (And yes, it's hard to work when you're watching all the boaters out there having fun!) We have satellite TVs in 3 of the bedrooms and theater. We also have DVR in the family room and master bedroom.
With three bedroom suites, one on each level, each group/couple in your party has privacy. The master suite is on the main level, with a walk-in double shower and a jetted tub big enough for two! Our fourth bedroom shares a shower with the third bedroom but has access to a half bath. It's private, with a queen bed, and perfect for kids because it's down a long hallway where they can make noise. We also have a 60' TV in the theater so the kids/teens can have their own space. Our backyard is big enough for the kids to run and play.
The wide open deck accommodates the incredible lake view, though we also have covered decks in case of rain. It takes four frames to capture the view with the camera! You can even see Brasstown Bald. Enjoy your coffee while watching the mist float above the lake. In the evening sip a glass of wine while the sunset paints the sky, and at night watch the moon rise over the mountains and ripple across the water. Or set yourself up on the dock and go fishing on this tournament-worthy lake.
We have a covered dock to park your boat, with a swim ladder. There's a free launch right around the corner in Jack Rabbit Park, and I provide easy directions for bringing your watercraft around.
What to do, what to do? Check out our notebook with suggestions, menus, and day trips (state parks, waterfalls, hikes, scenic drives, whitewater rafting, skiing, boat rentals, Helen, GA). You're only minutes to a major road, restaurants (fine and casual), shopping (lots of neat shops), three grocery stores, a movie multiplex/major arcade, live theater, river tubing, lake parks, and golf. There are often things going on in both town squares. We're 10 minutes to either Hiawassee or Hayesville; close to Franklin, Young Harris, Blairsville, and Murphy. You'll just love this whole area!
For those who love nature, our small neighborhood is bordered by the U.S. National Forest Service. Jackrabbit Park is around the corner, with a beach and boat ramp, along with walking trails. And for cyclists, there is a fantastic trail system within a short bike ride. You can also walk those miles of trails.
We offer wireless fiber optic broadband internet access and UNLIMITED LONG DISTANCE CALLS at no extra charge. We have Dish Network.

This house is amazing! Pictures are accurate but it is even more beautiful in person. The minute you walk in through those massive front doors and see the wall of windows with views of Lake Chatuge and the mountains all of your troubles just fade away! The house is very spacious, has comfortable furnishings, a well equipped kitchen and everything else you would need. Tina, the owner, was so nice and quick to respond to emails. This house is an exceptional value. I looked at smaller houses that were not nearly as nice as this one that cost the same or more. I hope to rent it again someday for the whole family. Thanks again to the owners for sharing their beautiful home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was the first time staying in this home and I was extremely surprised when I walked through the front door. This home exceeded all my expectation and the views are great. Everything you would need and more is provided. The homeowners are very helpful, through booking and accessible if needed. I'm already planning another trip in the spring if all goes as planned.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

We had an excellent stay. Great lake and mountain views. House has tons of space. The back yard is huge and flat, great for our kids running around. Kitchen is great for cooking. Trails nearby (less than one mile away) are fantastic. Tina (owner) was very pleasant and easy to deal with. Thumbs up!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The Mommy's got away. Had a blast. The house is still under construction, but well worth the rental. We had a few suggestions. But no complaints. Definitely on our list for another stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: There are unfinished rooms that are closed off from the main areas (basement level and third floor/future office), but the house is not unfinished, per se.

We had a wonderful vacation! The home was amazing! The pictures nor words can explain its true beauty. The beauty of the lake, mountains, and the entire community was breathtaking. We plan to return and have told many of our friends about your home. We have stayed at many vrbo homes and never have been disappointed but this is our favorite by far. Thanks Tina for sharing your home with us!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This house is really beautiful. I was initially skeptical because the price is reasonable and we've paid more for other vrbo properties that were not this nice. The pictures and descriptions are precise. The owners are very responsive with details related to the house and surrounding area amenities. Games are plentiful and I fished off the dock and caught fish for the 1st time in my life! Very nice, clean, quiet lake & neighborhood. The house presents a quiet, serene spirit and with the sauna...I'm relaxing thinking about it. Kodak Moments are everywhere with the views of both the mountains & lake. Kitchen accessories are more than adequate, too.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Just got back from a weekend stay at this wonderful house. It was amazing! The house is huge. My husband & I made reservations at the last minute, and Tina was very helpful. She responds quickly to your questions. With my husband, myself, & our 2 sons, we kept joking about how we could get lost in the house due to the size. From the beautiful entryway to the enormous kitchen, to the master bedroom, the view from the deck, everything was great. My husband loves to cook, and he enjoyed the kitchen with the gas cooktop, the huge fridge, & the sheer size. I fell inlove with the master bath and the walk-in double shower & tub. We will definitely return for a visit. It was nice that Tina took the time to leave a notebook of local suggestions, even included how to find the boat ramp & gave menus for local eateries. This is our fifth time renting from a vrbo owner, and this has been the easiest vrbo owner to interact with so far. Thank you for sharing your home, We had a wonderful time!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: I'm a Florida native, and as soon as we found this wonderful area, I felt right at home in the mountains. We come up as much as we can, between school schedules and the 12-hour drive. So we're sharing our home with others who want a mountain escape.
Why the Owner Chose Hiawassee:
I love this area! The people are friendly, it's beautiful everywhere you look, and there's plenty to do. I would live up here full-time if I could!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
I love that you can see the lake from so many places in the house, and the enormous ceiling with wall-to-roof windows and the prow really open up the house. The lake is ever-changing. Sometimes it's dotted with wisps of fog, or mirror-smooth, or mixed with interesting currents, or wind-ruffled like the ocean. I really love the sauna. The house is warm and inviting. We have a loop in our neighborhood which is great for walking.
