The sleeping accommodations in this unit are excellent - we are super picky about comfortable mattresses so we made sure to buy comfy ones! (Isn't it the worst when you're on vacation and the beds are uncomfortable?) The master lofted bedroom has a huge California king size bed. The second bedroom has a comfy queen size bed, and there is a handy queen size pull-out bed in the new living room sofa. This condo sleeps 1-6 people.
Both bathrooms include a tub and shower combination with full vanities and storage space.
The full kitchen includes a refrigerator with water & ice in the door, dishwasher, flat-top range, microwave, blender, rice maker, tea kettle and coffee maker. (Plus all the other things you need in a kitchen!)
There is a full size washer and dryer for your convenience right in the condo! Laundry detergent is provided. You will find an iron and ironing board in the first floor bedroom closet. Fresh new beach and bath towels are provided for your use. The linens are new fresh and of high quality purchased from The Pottery Barn.
This condo also includes cable; High Definition TV with VCR & DVD (lots of VHS and
DVD movies available), 3 ihome stations for your ipods, CD player (Hawaiian music CD's on location) and a cordless land line telephone with free long distance in the US and Canada.
This unit has ceiling fans in each room, but is not air-
conditioned. The ocean breezes and 2 operable skylights keep the condo cool!
You basically have all the amenities of home but you're in Paradise!
Relax in the Oceanside pool and Jacuzzi. Snorkel, swim, boogie
board and surf from the beach just steps from your condominium.
Comfortable lounge chairs are provided. Grill your own fresh fish on the charcoal BBQ provided and enjoy a picnic on the tables next to the ocean.

Why the Owner Chose Honokowai
Larry & Jo were the first to discover the Hale Mahina Beach Resort on an anniversary vacation several years ago. They immediately fell in love with the resort and location. They told Ken & Linda about the resort and it was decided that both families would vacation there for spring break 1997. What a vacation they had!
After a couple more trips to the resort one thing led to the next and they decided to pool their funds and purchase A-406 Hale Mahina Beach Resort in January 2000.

Our stay at the Fish Condo was awesome! I have been disappointed in VRBO rentals in the past, mainly because the photos were better than the reality. That is not the case with this property. The photos have not been staged; it really is as good as the photos! The place is immaculate, the view is unbeatable, and the beach is awesome! The kitchen has everything you need (and more); it is like cooking at home. Nice towels and linens...even all the beach toys you would want. While it isn't really walking distance to many restaurants, it is very conveniently located. The owners were very helpful in answering our questions before we arrived and we knew exactly what to bring and how to get there. The grounds are very impressive; well kept and beautiful. Every morning we would see the caretaker clean the pool and hot tub. The beach is wonderful...nice sand...and never crowded. Not only will we recommend this place to friends; we plan to return to the Fish Condo.

From my first contact with Linda, I knew our experience would be an awesome one. I video'd the kids as they first entered the condo and their faces just lit up with wonder and excitement! "Whoa! We are right on the beach!" I gave them the task at counting all of the fish in the condo and they came up with "Two Thousand Seventeen." It is obvious that the owners take great care in making their guests feel welcome. The grounds are meticulously cared for by the resident manager and the new friends we met at the pool seemed thrilled to be there as well. We started each day by saying hello to the family of Honu that were about 30 feet in front of us. We ended each day with the sun setting between Lana'i and Molokai. We will definitely let our friends know about the Fish Condo! But, maybe it is better to keep this secret gem all to ourselves?

We have been staying at Hale Mahina for many,many years now and this two bedroom condo is fantasitc! We had five people and we were very comfortable. The beds were super cozy and the furnishings we very clean and in new condition. I dont know but it looked as if a decorator was involved! I loved that there was FULL sized shampoo/conditioner, hand soap and laundry soap, lots of spices and cooking condiments were there as well. The views are wonderfull as always. Thank you for providing such a great place to stay. We will be back!

We would certainly recommend this condo for anyone going to Maui. The building and grounds are well maintained and our condo was in excellent condition. We had a beautiful view from our lanai over looking the ocean with a very nice beach. There was also a pool and hot tub. Everything is just as nice as is shown in the pictures.

We stayed at The Fish Condo for a week in November and had a great time! The view was the best part. It was clean, bright, and very quiet. All of the pictures were accurate and it was within walking distance from a nice organic market, coffee place, jewelry store and a place you can rent snorkel gear. The owners were great to deal with and they included a lot of helpful brochures and walking guides at the condo. The condo's a short drive to Lahaina which had a lot of options for dining out and even closer to Kaanapali Beach which we really liked for hanging out and snorkeling. The only negative I can think of was that the kitchen is so well stocked that there wasn't a lot of room for food, but that was very minor and wouldn't likely be an issue for smaller groups. I really hope I get to go back!

We stayed in the "Fish Condo" four nights in September 2010. While the building doesn't look like much from the outside, the inside is fantastic. Clean, well-stocked, comfortable and what a fantastic view! The 4th-floor balcony looks onto the back yard, the beach and of course the ocean. We made a point of congregating on the balcony for sunset each night. We arranged our entire trip from Seattle to Maui the day before we left. We found that the hotels were either full or too expensive, so we started hunting for condos. I got a call back from the owner within an hour of sending an email and one hour after that, our accomodations were arranged. The owner is honest and extremely helpful in suggesting things to do, places to eat, etc. At first, we were concerned about the lack of air conditioning, but we soon found out this is the case for most units in the area, and if you open the windows on either side of the unit, you get a great cool breeze. We definitely will be back. Stay at the fish condo!!

There were 4 people in our group, and we all wish we were still in Maui! I don't think words are enough to describe this condo and the amenities. Besides being absolutely adorably decorated and stocked to the hilt with shampoo, conditioner, blow dryers, body wash, dish soap, laundry detergent, etc, the condo was also absolutely spotless. The furnishings are unlike any you would expect in a rental. Everything is gorgeous and it all must be almost brand new. You won't find a big comfy sectional couch like this one in any of the other rentals. I know, because I searched forever until I found a rental that had more than a tiny couch and maybe a chair, which is what nearly all of the other rentals this size have. But that's not all! The lanai looks out at the amazing private beach and ocean. Every day we saw whales and turtles. Most days there were huge sea turtles sunning themselves on the condo beach (seriously!). The beach and grounds were also amazing - extremely clean and well-maintained. There aren't alot of condo units, so the beach, pool and grounds area were never crowded. There are also bbqs and tables in the common area for anyone to use. And, of course, the owners of this unit also provide charcoal briquets, beach towels, binocolars, snorkel gear, and nearly anything else you can think of for an awesome vacation. When you book, they also send you bag tags for your luggage! Book the Fish Condo - you will be SOOOOO glad you did!!!!!!!
