Walk just a couple blocks to restaurants, art galleries, museums, playgrounds, and the nationally-renowned Creede Repertory Theater. Hiking in the San Juan Mountains and Weminuche Wilderness Area just right out the door or within a few minutes in the car (North Clear Creek Falls, Wheeler Geological Monument, Penitente Canyon, and Wolf Creek Pass).

Headwaters of the Rio Grande River for superior fishing and rafting; local outfitters can plan your trip or just give you tips. Sand Dunes National Park, Lake San Cristobal, Black Canyon National Park, or Mesa Verde National Park for a day trip. Annual Mining Events, Annual Mountain Man Rendezvous, Self-Guided Car Tours of Historic Mining District on Tape, Rock Climbing, Biking, Golf, Hunting, Wildlife Viewing, and Horseback Riding.
