Year Purchased: 2007
Grace's Retreat was purchased in 2007 and is a family owned property. It is named for our Grandmother. The home was decorated by our sister who is an interior designer.
Why the Owner Chose Cullman
This location was ideal for our family to maintain. It is only 10 minutes from our homes and we can be onsite to handle any problems within 15 minutes. The location of the home is so convenient for out of town guests - right off of Interstate 65 and only 2 minutes from the Smith Lake Park and the public boat launch.
The Unique Benefits of this House
The most unique features of our home are the two garage doors that open onto the deck allowing for the entire house to be open, or the screens can be lowered for a "screened in porch" effect for the entire house.

This is without a doubt our new favorite place to run away. After 8 months of deployment and only 16 days of r&r for my husband before he was to return to the middle east we needed somewhere to just runway to but that was close enough to family to visit with them- and grace's retreat was perfect. The lake is beautiful but the house was my favorite part. Everything is there so you can just walk in and not have to worry about anything. The doors overlooking the lake are such a neat way to open up the house and enjoy the lake. The decor is modern and the house is clean. This is a place that will forever hold special memories for us and in which we hope to return to often. Thank you so very much!

I felt the property was larger and nicer even than advertised. It was very spacious. We had three different family gatherings of 12-14 people, and we had plenty of room and more than enough table settings (dishes and seats). The view of the lake from the hugh deck was lovely. Owner was very prompt to answer my one question. We really didn't check out restaurants as we were visiting family for a wedding, but we do know there are several in the area. Highly recommend to anyone needing space, comfort and a serene setting. I'm sure in the summer there would be lots of activities. Since my maiden name is Smith, I enjoyed seeing my name on signs in the area.

What a blessing it was to enjoy the beauty of God's creation in such well maintained and tastefully decorated accommodations! Grace's Retreat had all the amenities one could ask for, including a gas grill and a fire pit on the spacious and and beautifully furnished gated deck that overlooked Smith Lake, allowing for gorgeous daytime and nighttime views. My granddaughters and I loved to stretch out on the comfy deck furniture and gaze at the vast array of twinkling stars after full days of sightseeing and play in the immediate area. An added bonus was having extremely comfortable beds in which to sleep in after those full days. The unique garage door and screened walls allowed for a giant screened in porch effect and pleasant breezes of fresh country air when the weather allowed. I can't wait to return to Grace's Retreat with my husband, hopefully in the near future!

We had a wonderful stay. The house is gorgeous and relaxing and perfect. It was a great mix for me and my husband (I am a city girl and he is a country guy).
