Enjoy the best of Whidbey Island Vacation Rentals in our wonderful classic island home in historic downtown Coupeville - we call it "The House Next Door."
This charming house has over 2,100 square feet for you to explore, unwind and enjoy. Couples, families and even small retreats will enjoy this spacious house and all the conveniences of being in the heart of the historic waterfront of Coupeville (Washington's second oldest town).
A large view deck affords views of sailboats and kayakers on Penn Cove. Walk through the garden and find quiet places to take in the fresh coastal breeze. Play croquet on on the back lawn or just relax on the outdoor furniture. Sit on the deck with your laptop and use our WiFi to check in or to check the tide schedule or movie times.
Within a short 5 minute walk you can be at the Saturday Farmer's Market, Wine & Cheese Shop, Quilt & Yarn shops, 3 fine restaurants and one wonderful funky tavern, art galleries, antique stores, a historic Wharf, island gift shops and a bakery.
"The House Next Door" has 3 comfortable bedrooms, each with queen size bed. There is a nice hide-a-bed in the study and 4 twin beds in the nicely finished high ceiling attic.
There are two wood burning fireplaces, central forced air heating, and lots of places to curl up and be cozy. Wireless Internet/WIFI is available throughout the house. The library is across the street to use their free computers, check-out a book or a movie.

Rate Details (In US Dollars)
$295 per night for up to 6 People - 5 night minimum in the summer
Each additional person is $20 per night. Dogs are and additional $15 per night.
During the summer season we accept fill in dates of less than 5 nights.
Additional $125 cleaning fee applies to all reservations
that are less than 5 nights.
We accept check, cash for deposit and payment. Credit card accepted with 2.5% fee.
Applicable sale tax at 10.7% will be added to the total amount due.
2.5% charge for using credit card (to cover our credit card fees from the bank)

Why the Owner Chose Coupeville
It's right next door to the old house we purchased in 2007 and turned into a bed and breakfast inn. The House Next Door is so great because it has classic charming style but is a newer home. It's location is perfect, right in the heart of a quiet little historic town. In less than 5 minutes you can walk to the wharf, beach, restaurants, farmer's market and library.
Unlike a lot of Whidbey beachfront rentals - you can walk to most things you need instead of having a 15-20 minute drive anytime you want to do something else.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We love the location! Across the street from the Coupeville Farmer's Market and the local library. Just up the street from the Coupeville Wharf and Penn Cove. 2 blocks to Toby's Tavern and Mosquito Fleet Galley.
Als, we just love the home - it's comfy the house is - not overly fancy, just classic styling.
Walk out on Coupeville's Historic Wharf in Penn Cove, just down the street from The House Next Door. Espresso, local gifts, dining and kayak rentals plus amazing views of town,the cove and the sunset.
April to October enjoy the best of Whidbey Island. Local farms, produce, berries, meat, fish, cheese, flowers, arts and crafts. Plus fun food and snacks. 1 minute walk from The House Next Door. Saturdays from mid April to end of Oct - 10am-2pm.

2 Friends and 3 Family went together to buy The House Next Door. It's for friends and family to enjoy and we thought it was a great vacation rental for visitors to Coupeville and Whidbey Island to enjoy too.
We own and operate the Lovejoy Inn, which is right next door - hence the name "The House Next Door.".
We love to see folks relax and enjoy the unique experience of staying in a historic waterfront town on an island.

This house is a wonderful get away that's peaceful, yet surrounded by so many things to do. Each time I stay here I fall in love with the community and the scenery of Whidbey Island. I feel refreshed and relaxed in the ambiance of this wonderful location. The house has everything I need. wifi, ipod dock, fireplace, quiet reading spaces, and many separate rooms for company and families. The kitchen is stocked, the deck has a great view, and the garden is lovely. I'll be back!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway.

Loved staying at this house, as you can't beat the location (I'm a big fan of Coupeville). I was bit worried when we stayed there that we'd wish we'd stayed at a home on the beach, but we felt more than vindicated by the charm of this spot. We really liked that there are 2 living areas (each with a fireplace), and the bedrooms were comfortable (no saggy beds is HUGE for us when we stay somewhere). However the best part of this place is that there was so much for our family to do. The walks around town, down on the beach and easy access to Ebey's landing plus the Casey State Park are awesome. We went to the library (across the street) and were surprised that they had such a great Children's section, and we really liked the charming farmers market on Saturday (also across the street). Of course our favorite thing is just that it's in town, and we could go to the stores, waterfront, restaurants and cafes whenever we wanted. We have used this house twice as a family and have recommended it to other families as well.
Recommended for:Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway.

Our stay at The House Next Door was fantastic. There are 3 bedrooms, plus an attic room with 4 twin beds, so everyone had their own space. There is a comfy living room, a separate dining area, a separate TV room (with a hide-a-bed), and a nice kitchen. The whole place is well-stocked and decorated thoughtfully. It's like visiting family -- without the family! From the HND you can walk easily (three blocks) to the main shopping/dining area, the library, and the waterfront. The owners are well-connected locally, so they have lots of recommendations for places to eat and things to do. If you are looking for a place where you can really get away, relax, spend quality time with friends or loved ones, all in a beautiful, peaceful setting -- I can't imagine a better place.
