Our family of 12 loved our week at the Hinchey cottage on Beaver Pond. The cottage was perfect for our large family. We used the four beautiful bedrooms and having three bathrooms was great!! The kitchen is large and well stocked with everything we needed. Having a washer, dryer, and dishwasher was much appreciated. The big dining room was ideal for all of us to have meals or play games. The large deck is amazing and we used it a lot for sitting and eating. There is a lovely lawn which leads to the shore. Our younger grandchildren swam in the shallow area and the 6 year old learned to swim during the week. The adults all swam and used kayaks and canoes. Because the lake has no public access the fishing is great. All our "fisherpeople" caught several fish each day. Again that 6 year old learned to fish and caught a large bass off the dock. The Bridgeton area is lovely and close to so many nice towns including North Conway, NH. We all agreed that we want to return next summer.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We had a bunch of friends get together at this house for a weekend, and we had an absolutely fantastic time. The pond is just perfect, not nearly as crowded as some others, and quiet, since no power boats are allowed. The house was immaculate, with a huge kitchen. The view from the deck is beautiful; the sleeping arrangements are perfect for a group of friends or a big family. The basement room with ping-pong table and (indestructible!) concrete floor is great on a chilly night. The grill space is a little small (there's a small gas and a medium charcoal), so I'd recommend bringing a second charcoal if you're cooking for a lot of people. That said, the size of the kitchen and prep space basically makes up for the small grilling surface! We mostly stayed put at the house. We went and picked up phenomenal lobsters from the Ken's Kove seafood market right down the street. For the vast majority of the time, we were totally content to hang out at the house, drink some beer, play some yard games, head out in canoes for a bit, and just generally relax. Highly recommended!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We've stayed in this home for a midsummer week for the last 5 years, and enjoy it more and more each year! Great open layout in the house, and quiet, gorgeous views on the pond. The large kitchen is great for cooking in quantity, and the oversized family table is perfect for our large clan (13-15) who gather around it for meals! Bring bikes for a short ride (1.5 miles) to spectacular views of Moose Pond & Shawnee Peak, or take a short drive (3 miles) into Bridgton for lunch & shopping. We would absolutely recommend this home to groups and families for a retreat or getaway anytime!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thanks very much for your review. We also use the property for a gathering of the extended family and it works well for us. We are getting more and more repeat renters like yourself and that is great to have people returning. Thanks again for you review.
