Nosara on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica is an incredibly beautiful and diverse place. In addition to soaking up lots of sunshine on the numerous nearby beaches, our family learned about many aspects of the local ecology. We experienced sea turtles nesting on the sands at midnight, coming practically face-to-face with families of Howler monkeys as well as watching giant iguanas and kawatiis forage in the area. We also got to know the community a little when we visited the local elementary school and attended the Nosara rodeo. All this and we haven't even mentioned the very fine home (and BREATHTAKING sunsets) and the hospitality of the Laughlin's at "Tropical Retreat". This was the trip of a lifetime that no one in our family could ever forget.

Thank you so much for opening your beautiful home to Alex and me. The casita is spectacular, the pool refreshing, and the views breathtaking. We enjoyed watching the coatamundi walking through the forest and the boat-billed magpie flying over our heads. Nosara is such a beautiful place. We especially loved birding in the Lagarta reserve along the Rio Nosara. We will always remember the turquoise browed mot-mot flying around us every day on our hikes, along with the incredible sounds of the Howler monkeys. Alex has picked up the surfing bug, and who could blame him, with such wonderful beaches and sunsets to enjoy from the water. He says his advice for other amateurs is to try getting up on the board earlier and quicker. It was much easier once he figured that out ! Cafe de Paris is the perfect spot to hang out for yummy food and drinks. What a great introduction to Nosara. Your advise for sightseeing, food, and beaches was always right on. In short, we enjoyed our stay even more than we ever thought we would or could.

The house looks incredible - all your hard work has definitely paid off - it is absolutely knock-out gorgeous ! Thank you for sharing it with my parents and family. We really were one, big, funny, crazy bunch together. Good times :) We'll be back !
