We spent the last week of October 2010 at this property. Our experience was outstanding! First of all, there is not a better location on the Island -- with quick access to beaches, golfing, hiking, restaurants and the St. Regis resort. The unit has a beautiful lanai off the family room with stunning views of the ocean, Bali Hai and the Napali Coast. On our first morning, we enjoyed a show of spinner dolphins frolicking in the ocean! The unit has a telescope for your use, which is amazing. The photos on this website give you an accurate sense of the condo. It is in good condition with great amenities. We cooked every night and had all the equipment/utensils that we needed. The property was clean and well maintained. A word about the owners -- very helpful and incredibly responsive. Our questions were always answered very promptly and were useful. They helped accommodate some of our more unsual requests. We want to give a special thanks to the owners for their attentiveness and help. We highly recommend this unit.

I have been visiting Kauai nearly every year since 1975 and have stayed in everything from hotel rooms, to condos, to private homes (including Billy Jean King's home), but have not found anything that matches the beauty, convenience, amenities, and outstanding floor plan that Pua Poa #412 has to offer. My wife and I just completed our second stay at Puu Poa 412 in early June, and it was even better than the first stay in 2008. The owners, Dick and Eleanor Goode, have thought of including everything you can possibly think of in their condo to spoil you during your stay. It is now difficult for us to think of going back to Kauai ever again and not renting this unit. I spend days each year looking for just the right place to make our annual vacation in Kauai everything I want it to be for my wife and me, but often it is difficult to know what you are renting based on the information and photos on a website. Many landlords and rental agencies exaggerate and overstate the quality of the amenities or create a false impression of a rental unit's view. I had great expectations for our initial stay at Puu Poa 412 after our first booking of the condo, as it looked almost too good to be true. My concerns were quickly replaced with a giant smile and a "high five" with my wife on that initial visit when we opened the front door to the lanai entrance and saw that view of Bali Hai. We continued to be amazed as we walked through the condo and found everything even better than we imagined. I haven't had the privilege of meeting Dick and Eleanor but have been communicating with them via email since our first stay and I can't say enough about their kindness and "good old fashion caring" for their guests. I hope to meet them face to face on a future visit to Kauai so that I can thank them personally for sharing their most beautiful home on the most beautiful island in the world. It is entirely true that 412 is "the best unit in Kauai's best condo" We spent our honeymoon on Kauai in Puu Poa #412, and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. Dick and Eleanor Goode were extremely attentive and gracious hosts. They were sure to anticipate our every need while on our vacation. There were items provided for the beach and for snorkeling so that we didn't have to rent equipment! And Hideaways Beach, below the condo provided some excelent snorkeling! With their attention to detail, it is evident that they truly enjoy hosting guests in their lovely home. We enjoyed some of the most amazing views from the lanai of 412. In fact, there were gorgeous views from every window in the condo! The condo is extremely spacious and relaxing, and beautifully decorated. We loved it there, and we hope to return sometime soon! Thank you Dick and Eleanor for sharing your wonderful home with us!

Our family has been coming to Kauai for vacations for over 25 years and usually rent large homes. As we were smaller in number this time, we chose Puu Poa 412 and yes like the headline on the site says, it is indeed "the best unit in Kauai's best condo". The Goodes could not be more gracious hosts. They anticipate your every need and more. For example, a few days before arriving I emailed Dick asking if they had board games so that I could avoid schlepping ours over. He said that they did not, but that he would order some and that they would arrive when we got there and they were there! The condo is beautifully and comfortably decorated. The air conditioning was welcomed as it was very humid the week we were there. The view and sunsets could not be more spectacular from the spacious patios. You can believe the pictures and the description on the website - it really is that great. We can't wait to come back.

On our last two stays in Kauai my husband and I stayed at the beautiful Princeville Hotel. When we planned to go this year with my 2 adult children, we realized we needed more space. I searched the web for a condo in Princeville. I came upon one that said "best condo in best location". My first thought was how likely is that. Well after taking the online virtual tour I was beginning to think I was on to something. As it turns out, I was correct. From the moment we contacted Dick and Eleanor, we knew we had made the right decision. They were so friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome before we ever left home. We loved condo 412. It was decorated beautifully, was spacious and was comfortable as well. I really loved the Asian themed master bedroom. The condo had every convenience we could have imagined. The kitchen appliances were state of the art. My husband, son and daughter enjoyed the margarita maker. The video/audio equipment included a home theater where we were able to enjoy the movie South Pacific (many DVDs provided) in HD Home Theater. The beautiful views from the window of Pu'u Po'a 412 were the same as those were watching in the movie. We really enjoyed the beach below where the snorkeling was excellent. Snorkeling and beach gear were provided. We also had a great time cooking out on the deck and watching the sunset. We could have not found a more perfect place to have the perfect vacation. We came home relaxed and happy. Thanks to Dick and Eleanor for sharing their beautiful home with us and for the Tropical tea and Kauai coffee provided for us to enjoy during our stay. We hope to return to Kauai and 412 very soon.

We have just returned from a wonderful week at Puu Poa. The views from the Lanai are breathtaking in every direction. So relaxing and peaceful to sit there with our morning coffee and watch the ocean and the weather over the mountains, and of course have a glass of wine as the sunsets in the evening. There is a lot to do on the North Shore, great beaches, lot's of snorkeling and hiking. The condo is one of the best I have been in, everything is there that you could possibly need, very comfortable, a real home away from home. The Goodes have really made an effort so their guests will have a great vacation. Thanks

Wow ! What a place ! The views from this condo are fabulous, not only the great 'Bali Hai' view but we also enjoyed the dining room/kitchen view of east Hideaways beach. This is a very high end unit, much larger than most. We especially appreciated the quality kitchenware and plush bath towels, items most rental units skimp on. The North Shore of Kauai is a beautiful place to visit, two weeks for us was not enough.

PARADISE! We just returned from a 1 week stay in Puu Poa 412. We could not be more pleased. In my opinion, Puu Poa is the best place to stay in Kauai and 412 is the best of all Puu Poa units. Dick Goode has gone to great lengths to make 412 a wonderful home away from home for his guests. Even after your booking, Dick will continue to be there for you; his knowledge and guidance were very helpful as we planned our trip. After many trips to Maui, this was our first trip to Kauai . . . . we are now so spoiled that we are already planning our next trip back to Puu Poa 412! Mahalo nui loa Dick!

This is a great location - breathtaking views out every window - comfortable accomodations - wonderful amenities- thoughtful and helpful hosts/owners. Couldn't have asked for more. Can't wait to go back and I'd recommend this property to friends and family. This end of the island is quieter and more laid back. Hanalei is close and a great small town with services. Bar Acuda is a must stop bar/restaurant. Nearby beaches are plentiful.

Recommended for:Girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful time in the Penthouse. It was a great location and the view and layout of the condo were excellent. The Goodes were wonderful hosts helping us prepare for our trip to get the fullest enjoyment of our time on the island. Be sure to take the hike down to the beach below the condos even though it may be a bit steep it is well worth the effort. Can't wait to return and enjoy another sunset, watch the surfers and catch a glimps of a whale's spout or a sea turtle cruising through the coral. Thank you so much for helping us create wonderful memories.

Our stay in 412 was a great experience! From booking the unit to arrival, everything was handled very professionally and courteously. Upon arrival we were amazed at the incredible views from every window and deck. We drove around much of the island and not many views matched what we woke up to every morning. The unit itself was incredible. Everything for a relaxing and memorable week was at our fingertips. Beautiful beaches with some of the best snorkling I've seen within 5 mintues walking distance, golf courses, restaraunts, local shops, anything we needed. Im glad we had a chance to stay at such a wonderful place. It made coming back home a tough thing to do. Thanks Richard and Eleanor for opening up your doors to us.

Note To Our WebSite Viewers --- For many years (15+) we had a physical Guest Book in our Puu Poa Penthouse # 412 where our Guests often wrote very helpful comments to other visitors and us. Sadly that big book disappeared some six months ago, and we foolishly had never reproduced its pages.... We have been flattered by large numbers of our Guests returning to 412 year-after-year....
