Chop Chestnut Cabins are beautiful secluded, both log and cedar cabins, located in the Daniel Boone National Forest Area, in the eastern hills of Powell County in Kentucky.

There are 5 fully furnished cabins located just off of a National Scenic Byway through the beautiful valleys of the Red River Gorge and natural rock bridges. They are located only a few miles from one of Kentucky's beautiful state parks, the Natural Bridge State Park.

They are secluded from one another by wooded areas but are close enough together to be used for multiple families events, reunions and church groups. They are out in the country where you can sit out on the porch and see and listen to the wild turkeys and watch the dear and many different small creatures and birds, but just a few miles from places to find entertainment and the major grocery stores and restaurants.

You can go on a short hike early in the morning or travel a short distance to the gorge for larger hiking and rock climbing.

Cabin # 1—Chestnut Ridge----is a small log cabin. It has 1 queen bedroom downstairs. It has bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub, the kitchen and living rooms are combined in one room with a wood pub table and stools. The kitchen has a full stove with oven, refrigerator with all kitchen utensils furnished. The cabin has Dish satellite and DVD player. This cabin has a beautiful spiral stairs to an open loft which opens over the living room and gas fireplace. The open loft is furnished with1 full and 2 twin beds and a futon couch that can be let down if needed. Chestnut Ridge has a covered porch on two sides with wood swing and rockers and a picnic table and chairs. Attached to the covered porch on the back is a deck with a large hot tub. Right off the porch is a charcoal grill, fire ring and large wood picnic table. This cabin is secluded from all others and has a private yard to enjoy.

Cabin # 2---Turkey Cove---Is a large cabin with three bedrooms. The downstairs bedroom has a full bed and two large bedrooms upstairs both with two beds. One with 1 queen and 1 full bed. The bedrooms are separated by a setting room with a futon couch and the half bath. The other bedroom has 1 queen and 1 twin bed. The living room has a gas fireplace, a queen hide-a-bed couch and platform rockers. It also has a pub table with stools for card games and Dish satellite with DVD player. The dining room and kitchen are together and are fully furnished, with large stove with oven, refrigerator and all fully furnished with all dishes and cooking utensils. The full bath also has a Jacuzzi tub and shower and all the towels that you need for your stay. Turkey Cove has a two sided covered porch with rockers and swing and a deck with a large hot tub. There is a charcoal grill, fire ring and large wood picnic table in the secluded yard for your fun. (Do you wonder why it is named Turkey Cove, most every afternoon a large covey of wild turkey makes their trip home for the night right through the front yard across the driveway and over the hill on the other side to their roost.)

Cabin # 3---Kim’s Nascar Retreat--- Is the most secluded three queen bedroom chalet type cabins. It has a large living room with a queen hide-a-bed couch, two rockers and gas fireplace. It also has Dish satellite TV and DVD player. It has a large dining room, also for card playing and games. The kitchen is fully furnished with stove with oven, refrigerator and all dishes and cooking utensils. It has one queen bedroom downstairs and two bedrooms upstairs. It has a covered porch with a wood swing and rockers and a deck off the bedroom with a large hot tub. It has a charcoal grill, fire pit and large wood picnic table. It has a large yard that overlooks a beautiful cliff.

Cabin # 4---Hunters Rest—is the smallest cozies of the cabins. It is made for just two people. The large upstairs room has a queen bed, two platform rockers, an electric fireplace and a large garden Jacuzzi tub. It also has Dish satellite and DVD player. It has a small kitchen with apartment refrigerator and stove and small round drop-leaf dining table and chairs. It is fully furnished. Out the back is the deck with a gas grill, picnic table and chairs, a round hot tub for just two people to enjoy. This cabin also has a picnic area with fire ring, charcoal grill and large wood picnic table.

Cabin # 5---Chestnut Hilltop Hide-a-way---is also a three queen bedroom cabin. It has a beautiful wrap-a-round covered porch with several wood chairs and other tables and chairs. It has a private covered porch that opens from the French doors in the downstairs bedroom, which has a wood swing. It also has two large bedrooms upstairs divided by a walkway. It has a large garden Jacuzzi tub that is surrounded by windows. It has a full bathroom with bathtub and shower. The living room has Dish satellite and DVD player. The kitchen is fully furnished with stove with oven, large refrigerator and all dishes and cooking utensils.
It has a large secluded yard with a fire ring, charcoal grill and two large wood picnic tables.

When entering the cabin area there is a brown wood fence and on the left is a small office where cabin information, statements and information about areas of interest in our county are posted.
