Situated on the harbor, overlooking Bass Harbor's comings and goings of the local lobstermen and yachtsmen, this historic village offers Thurston's famous restaurant ,that you can walk to in 3 minutes, a quaint village and private beach. This harbor is famous on Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park, for being the most photograped and painted working harbors in Maine. The famous Bass Harbor lighthouse is only 5 minutes away. Bar Harbor is a 15 min drive to the other side of the island. Kayak right from this oceanfront home, or just relax on the many decks and enjoy the view.
This oceanfront/shrorefront home offers beautiful views of Cadillac Mountain and the working harbor all day. Photograph the many artists and photographers coming to this spot to capture Maine's beauty.
This is a great find in America's favorite coastal Maine (Bernard) destination. The cottage offers a fireplace, a great place to read, windows overlooking the harbor from the living room, or take a walk through the fishing village. Charming architectural details, attractive furnishings, a fenced in yard, and lovely flowers make this a wonderful spot for your stay. This home is right on the ocean with steps going down for your exploring, plus a fenced in yard, and gardens. The large yard is great for children and dogs.
An easel is on site, for the artistic ones. An office area overlooks the harbor is equipped with high speed internet, DSL, and fax machine, for those who need to stay in touch. This home also has excellant cell phone coverage for many providers.
Many of the homes on our island cannot recieve cell phone coverage, you need to ask before arriving for your convenience.
This home is within 5 minutes of Acadia National Park where you can enjoy biking, hiking, running, kayaking, or mountain climbing. Spend your week enjoying nature by day and curling up to the fireplace at night. Come to the Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor and see what Bernard has to offer..

Positive Rating
Best house on the island! Truly a great oceanfront home, thank you for opening your home to us. This is the cleanest and most comfortable home we have stayed in here at Acadia. We are coming back. Thanks again- you thought of everything, down to the spices and extra bathroom goodies!
Positive Rating
After coming here for years, this is the best spot on the island. Well worth the view, the lobstermen, just paint or read, go to Acadia..This is perfect, what a great village, not touristy like the others on the island have become..Yet you can still get to the center of Bar Harbor in 20 minutes..Perfect! Thanks for the stay, we will be back.
