Great place for family with Kids
Great place for family with Kids
We stayed at this cabin over the President's holiday weekend and we had a blast. The house is a bit old but charming. I have two young kids and they absolutely love this place especially the pool room downstairs and the backyard. Homewood Ski Resort is 5 minutes away; and restaurant and convenience stores are just a short drive away. In all we are really glad we stayed at this Cabin. We would definitely come back again.

The cabin is in a great location, walking distance down a short hill to the beach and private pier. You can see the lake from the corner of the front deck. Large fenced in back yard, and large wrap around deck. While the street is on a hill, the driveway is level. Some upgrades have been made to the kitchen with new counter-tops and cabinets, and quiet dishwasher, and downstairs queen bedroom has some upgrades too. Washer and dryer are good, Maytag. Overall the cabin is quaint, old Tahoe charm. Upstairs king bedroom is a bit tight to walk around due to the a-frame roof, which also means the door only opens to just past a 90' angle. Apparently prior to our stay the previous renters did some damage, but despite efforts to clean it up we still had to deal with finding broken glass around the downstairs bathroom, shower doors without handles and cupboard doors not opening/closing upstairs. This was quite frustrating to us as we had a toddler. We also found the house to not be as clean as we would have liked it - the worst complaint being we found short black hairs all over the downstairs queen bed duvet, which was unpleasant. While the owners seem pretty nice and apologetic for some of the issues, they didn't believe us on the cleanliness complaints we had. We also had to deal with the WiFi and TV not working properly and had to call, schedule and be present for a repair tech to come out to fix it (we needed WiFi access and TV for the week). Again, the location is great - especially in the summer when you want easy access to the lake and beach. I'm sure winter is great too. But for us, we had to deal with a few issues with the cabin.

Manager response: We're glad you had a good time at our cabin. We tried very hard to repair the damage the previous tenants had done, but some parts had to be ordered so there were a few handles missing. Every once in a while we get some rather destructive tenants. It's bad for us and this time even the next tenants suffered. We are very sorry about that, but we did try our best. The cable and WiFi service are usually pretty good, but it's not like the service in the city. Hopefully now that they have replaced the main line, the service will be better. Most of all, we're glad you had a good time at our family cabin. Hopefully you'll come back again.
Beautiful cozy cabin, would definately return again

We didn't buy it for a rental. We bought it for our vacation home, and treat it as such. We are constantly updating and improving it. We just added a huge covered deck that connects to 3 sides of the home.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The area along the side of our Lake, 4 houses away, has the longest stretch of public beach to walk along on the entire lake. We love to take walks in the morning and evening, or bike along side the Lake. People come from all over just to be able to take long walks, bike, and picnic. Out back, you can hike or bike along the road near Blackwood Creek. Our neighborhood is very quiet, and peaceful. Our yard is flat and lawned. The neighborhood annual party is always in our back yard. We host about 50 people. 'The Honneymoon House' is it's nick name. There have been several weddings in our back yard.
