North Captiva Island is the OTHER Captiva; a unique, southwest coast, Florida barrier island caught in another time...There are NO cars, NO streetlights, NO high-rises, and shorebirds far outnumber people! Our 'roads' are sand paths and besides bikes, we ride on golf carts. Shoes are optional and don't bring a big suitcase. All you need is a bathing suit, shorts, tee shirt, and your favorite suntan lotion! With four and a half miles of pristine, sugar white, sand beach, North Captiva is the ULTIMATE beach lovers' and water sport vacation spot! Unwind in Style!
SEABREEZE is situated overlooking the beach and aqua waters of the Gulf of Mexico and is one of a handful of homes with private beach access. The house was badly damaged by Hurricane Charley in August, 2004 and has been totally rebuilt and newly furnished. Everything is brand new!!! SEABREEZE was built in the 'Old Florida' style to optimize spacious living and comfort. Bedrooms are on the first floor and the family living space is upstairs! You can watch the sunrise from one side of the house and the sunset from the other. This is a house for discriminating clientele who appreciate and respect nice furnishings and belongings.
THIS Non-Smoking HOME FEATURES:
* FIRST FLOOR: The two lovely master bedrooms feature King and Queen beds with Oceanside screened porch. Read and nap to the sound of the surf... Both rooms have full tiled baths. Two other attractive bedrooms have a set of Twin beds in one and a Twin Daybed with trundle in the other. This room can be easily converted into a TV den/game room when not needed as a bedroom.
* SECOND FLOOR: Upstairs there is a big and bright full gourmet Kitchen and Dining room open to the large Family room with an ocean view screened porch. Watch dolphins, birds, (our resident osprey with spring chicks is only one!), and boats as your friends and family enjoy breakfast on the porch or later try cocktails at sunset on the Sky deck with a 360 degree view of the entire island. Sunbathe on our tip-top Captain's Watch... The house is full of little nooks and crannies!
In spite of our modern bathroom showers, most of us prefer to use the private outdoor shower with a nice dressing area. Perfect after the beach or anytime...
YOU DIDN'T KNOW THAT TIME COULD GO THIS SLOWLY! Leave your datebook and watch at home. Time no longer matters!
For those who DO want to keep a schedule, there are plenty of 'appointments' to fill your day:
* Fish from the beach or charter a fishing boat for the day
* Play tennis or swim laps at the Club pool
* Collect shells, sand dollars and sharks teeth
* Kayak to neighboring islands
* Ride bikes and workout at the 'Fitness Center'
* Fall asleep under a beach umbrella
* Go bird watching
* Read three books
* The possibilities are endless!!
SEABREEZE holds a membership in the North Captiva Island Club, which offers activities for young children, has two pools, two tennis courts, a playground, plus fishing equipment and boat rentals. There are two restaurants on the island and a 'general' store for basic supplies.
Each rental includes a four person GOLF CART to scurry around the island. Additional carts are available for rent with advance notice.
TRANSPORTATION to and from the island is available via regularly scheduled water taxi service that takes approximately 20 minutes. If you are arriving at the Fort Myers Airport, private car service is available to take you grocery shopping and deliver you to the water taxi. Once on island, you will be met and shown to the house and porters will assist you with luggage and groceries. Now the fun begins!!

Skeptical at first... Not my first rodeo renting or owning investment properties. With that written, the owners of SEABREEZE are the real deal. Great house and location for the kids. Perfect distance from the beach. Our children(girls 12, 6 and 4) fell in love with the island(s). The snorkeling and sea shell hunting...perfect. It is refreshing to experience home owners that have your comfort running paramount to "just renting". *Great house with beautiful views *The island staff were terrific. * "Boats and Fun" crew were superb with Capt. Eric Mannino(world famous fishing guide) leading the charge. My three little beaks are still talking about the stay. We look forward to a 2014 get away. We decided to do something a little different for the holidays this year. Rent a house on the beach. After days of searching we found the property. We contacted the owner who immediately got back to us. We had a signed contract within 2 weeks. We were on our way and set for Christmas in August. The pictures of the house and location looked beautiful (as you can see). Fast forward to December, 9 of us arrived to meet at Fort Myers airport to make our way to the house. The drive to the charter boat place is about 45 minutes. We had a reservation for a chartered boat to take us to the island. All thanks to the homeowner who ensured we had all the info needed to get to our destination. After a 20 minutes boat ride with our luggage and groceries in tow we arrived on the island. There are truly NO CARS on the island. It was immediately paradise and just what we wanted. Time to get into the house. We entered and were just blown away at how gorgeous it was. Open and spacious with views of the water from all over the house. We quickly unloaded and walked over to the beach. Amazing. We were thrilled to know that we were just starting a fabulous week long stay!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Lyn and Peter, Thank you so much for the use of your house. It is AWESOME and beautiful! My family enjoyed the "Big Beach House" and everything that NCIC offered. The best we have ever had on North Captiva. This is our 3rd year and we have loved staying at SeaBreeze. We all agree it is the best "fit" for our family. You hav e a nlovely welcoming home -- thank you so much for sharing it with us. Noone of us want to leave! We will think of this bit of Paradise often over the next year (especially during the cold Wisconsin winter!) We are looking forward to our 4th trip back to this wonderful island. My family had the most wonderful time at Seabreeze. We stayed there for a week in August and could not have asked for a better vacation. We loved the house and the kids loved the beach access right across the road. We all loved the golf carts and we never saw more than 4 or 5 people on the beach! It was great! We had the pool all to ourselves for most of the vacation. Thanks Lyn for a great vacation! We'll definitely be back next summer.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children.

It was a wonderful place for our Annual Family Christmas reunion. The weather was perfect. The house was perfect and we especially were entertained by Lucy and her mate. (Our osprey couple.) We had such a wonderful time on the island and enjoying your house this year. The weather was amazing, everyone was so relaxed and fun, and it truly was one of the most memorable vacations we can remember! Our boys spent days building sandcastles and collecting coquinas (yes, we made soup!) and we made a daily visit to the Pirate's Stash ice cream shop. We caught shark and trout and snapper and made several meals from our catch. We even boated down to the Green Flash to have a fun lunch. Thank you so much for making your house available. About the owner: We share time between SeaBreeze and a home at Black Butte Ranch in central Oregon. The perfect combination of nature, wildlife, beautiful weather and low key living.
Why the Owner Chose North Captiva Island:
We loved the easy going nature of North Captiva without fancy Clubs and a groomed beach. Our view sold us on the house and as part owners of 2 beachfront lots, we have a private beach to ourselves any time we want it. No one is ever on it! We love putting a few things in a bag and arriving, not needing anything dressy. Flip Flops work everywhere here!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This is Florida unlike anywhere in Florida you can find. No cars, no cement. Sand, Shells, Birds, Marine Life (including fish!!) Four mile beach walks where often you won't see a soul.....Two Har Tru Tennis courts (serious tennis players know what this is!) 2 beautiful pools with whirlpools. North Captiva is a bit of heaven on earth and SeaBreeze overlooks the beach and aqua waters, 1/2 mile from the North Captiva Island Club. The perfect island, the perfect house and location. Totally casual....no fancy clothes or people here........You can't go wrong!
