  My husband and I stayed in this unit at the Whaler this past December and it was truly the perfect place to stay in Maui! The details and pictures from this listing were 100% accurate and we were so pleased with our choice. Ethel was wonderful to work with and answered all of our questions leading up to our trip. She was always very prompt at responding to our emails leading up to our vacation. Check in at the Whaler reception area was also a breeze. The unit was clean and had all the amenities we needed for a great vacation. It was so handy to have a full kitchen to make breakfast every day and mix up some cocktails to enjoy out on the lanai. We witnessed many beautiful sunsets out there, it was unbelievable! Kaanapali Beach was our favorite beach of everywhere we went - never crowded, always an accessible place to lie out, fantastic snorkeling and just amazing soft sand. We were very impressed with the Whaler and this unit in particular. We definitely plan to return in the future and stay here again, it was absolutely perfect!

  This review was sent some time after our stay; however, we had such a great stay that we felt that we needed to share the email that I sent the owner while we were in the unit and it goes as follows: "I just wanted to send a message saying that the condo is perfect for our needs on this trip. It was very clean upon our arrival and just what we expected from the photos. We have rented before from VRBO owners and we have sometimes been unpleasantly surprised with a dirty unit or unclean dishes. We were very pleased when we arrived and this is making our visit to Maui very enjoyable." The above was written part way through our stay and the balance of the stay was very enjoyable. The Owner was very prompt with our emails when we were making arrangements and the process went very smooth, especially since these were last minute arrangements. Great location on Maui, and great location within the complex. Thanks again, E.G. for permitting us to stay in your unit and we have recommended your unit to friends and family and would certainly stay here again when we are lucky enough to return to Maui.   Unit 313 was great when I went; now, savored 6 months later, it’s Great ++. A sense of well-being. Real value. Spotless. Great balcony view. Accurate description/photos. It is within a quiet landscaped complex, human size, with pool and directly on wide Ka'anapali Beach about 100 yards from Black Rock. 313's beauty, taste and resulting comfort stood out. The owner made the booking and stay effortless. Simply put, I loved it. Memorable. It has stayed with me and I’d come back tomorrow. PS. Please don't miss Annabelle's superb comedy/magic/music show in Lahaina--one of the owner's carefully-considered, helpful and spot-on recommendations.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing.

  We loved our stay at the Whaler. We found the facility to be all that we needed and more! The location is excellent! We truly enjoyed the lanai, the views, watching the whales every day from the lanai. We appreciated the bar-b-ques for home cooked meals, and yet Whaler Village is right next door if you don't feel like cooking. The beach was nice, the pool area adequate (though highly enforced rules), the gym was suffice and the proximity of the ocean walk was perfect. The studio had all that we needed, and was tastefully decorated. We would consider this property again, for sure!!!

  My adult daughter and I stayed at Whaler #313 January 8-15, 2010. The condo was very comfortable and appealing; it felt larger than I expected, and we had everything we needed, and then some. I felt that Ethel had really put thought into what would make guests feel at home and making things easy for us. The laundry was right down the hall, and I had no trouble with availability. The location is really nice. We enjoyed the shaded lounge chairs and grassy area several times, and I read several of the books that were provided.   We stayed at Ethel Grant's beautiful condo in The Whaler on Ka'anapali Beach for 10 days over Christmas, 2009. The condo is well-equipped, spacious and comfortable, and tastefully decorated in island style. We especially enjoyed the daily sunset views from the covered lanai. The condo is perfectly situated on the third floor overlooking the lovely gardens and pond with sunset beach and ocean views. The Whaler, in our opinion and after many visits to Maui, is the nicest vacation condo complex just a short walk from the famous Black Rock just 200 yards to the north along Ka'anapali Beach. Dealing with the owner, Ethel Grant, was a pleasure. She responded promptly to email messages and handled the transaction in a friendly, yet professional manner. Mahalo Ethel!

  We had a great stay at the Whalers in this condo. The condo had a beautiful ocean view and we spend many mornings on the lanai drinking coffee and eating breakfast. The condo was clean, comfortable, nicely decorated, and had everything that we needed for our week long stay. If we ever return to Maui, we would definitely stay in unit 313 again.

  Oh to be back on Maui again! We had a fantastic holiday. Your condo met all our expectations. It is very nicely decorated and well equipped. We weren't lacking anything and were very comfortable there. Our friends have a place on the 9th floor and they have seen alot of the rented units over the years. They also thought your unit was very nice compared to some they have seen. We hope to maybe go again next spring , we are just thinking about dates. Sincerely, Bart and Laura

  This place was so clean, comfortable and cozy! It was such a cute place and the location was excellent! It was in the middle of Kanapali beach and easy walking distance to anywhere along the beach. The parking garage was also very convenient. I would highly recommend this condo!
