The Hideaway was built in 1934 as a summer retreat for a Missoula family. Good tight construction and a metal roof have protected this Flathead Lake cabin all these years. This is a very special and unique place to spend some time away from the hustle and bustle of life. Whether you want to spend your stay in the rustic cabin or just have a private location to enjoy your RV or trailer, this is a very special spot indeed.
Once you turn on to Sunset Point Lane, life seems to slow down. Upon entering the gate you will sense the private and secluded nature of this place.
The parking area above the cabin has an area light and switch on the power pole. There is also an RV electric box with 50amp, 30amp, and standard 115v plug-ins.
Your first step into the cabin is like a step back in time to a summer at camp as a child. The interior of the cabin is rustic with a 1950's feel. When you open the back door you will find a large screened-in porch with two bunk beds and a couch.
The cabin consists of two interior rooms. The large kitchen has an electric stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster and toaster oven, coffee maker, cold-water sink, pantry and lots of cupboards, and a table and chairs. The main room has a king-size bed, dresser, a hide-a-bed, a couch, chairs, TV/DVD/VCR player, and a walk-in changing closet. The outhouse is located to the rear and side of the cabin.
We do not supply linens for the cabin, so bring your own linens and/or sleeping bags.
Off the screened-in porch is a large deck over-looking Flathead Lake and Wild Horse Island. The deck has a gas barbeque, patio fireplace, and a table w/ chairs.
The hideaway has over a 150 feet of private pebble beach. The beach area is quite wide (about 75 feet) providing lots of room to throw a ball or frisbee. Since the lakeshore in this area is all round rock, the water is exceptionally clear. The property has two anchor buoys in the lake. They are each chained to 4000 lb. cement anchor blocks. If you have a boat, you are welcome to keep your boat on these during your stay.
After you have enjoyed the incredible sunset over Flathead Lake, it is time to light the bonfire. We supply plenty of firewood (across from the cabin's entry door). |
