Spectacular Location, riverfront, in the middle of one of the most beautiful stretches of white water in California - small quiet beaches along river. Very close to Pinecrest and Dodge Ridge. Strawberry with the South Fork of the Stanislaus River running through it and its large meadow is a truly idyllic gem. Overlook is very private with river in front and forest on two sides. It is well appointed and was totally remodeled four years ago. All the creature comforts yet cabin living. With Overlook you get it all: natural beauty, whitewater, privacy, comfort, any season of the year.

Very nice, clean and updated cabin.

We thoroughly enjoyed this cabin. It was immaculate and completely updated! The kitchen was beautiful and well stocked with utensils for cooking. The layout is great and the beds were very comfortable. Owner provided GREAT customer service. Only thing to note is that the 3rd "bedroom" is actually a pullout couch in the downstairs game room and not an "actual bedroom". Worked well for our teenagers but could be a challenge for young children or adults. We will definitely use this cabin again!!

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Wow! What a lovely place! You have a great hide-away. We came to celebrate our 14th anniversary. We normally come to Pinecrest to camp during the summer. But after staying here, who needs a tent! We enjoyed our stay and love the peacefulness of it all. Hope to be back next year. Thank you.

We also were Lair of the Bear campers 9th week Gold for 20 years. For the last 4-5 year we have decided to vacation in the area (but not at the Lair). We have stayed in other cabins but never enjoyed them as much as this one. We stayed for two weeks and thoroughly loved every minute of enjoying the outdoors the lake the river the hikes and the cabin. Thank you so much for such a wonderful retreat. We hope to be back next year.

How refreshing to find a cabin that is rustic yet elegant. We come to the Lair of the Bear every year and this year decided to rent a house to assure comfort and hygiene for our 13 month old. We are hooked what a great way to bring the kids to camp without compromising the creature comforts of their mother. You can expect us back for many years to come. Mountain View, CA
