Accommodations:  House, 3 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 3 Baths (Sleeps 10)

Keywords:  House

This beautiful lake front home has over 2,700 sq. ft., 3 bedrooms plus a loft and 3 full bathrooms. There are 2 king beds, one queen and 2 queen sleeper sofas. It can sleep 10 people very comfortably and has central air conditioning. The maximum number of guests permitted at one time is 10.

We have 85 feet of frontage on a sandy all-sports lake in Twin Lake which is in Muskegon County. The spring fed lake is very clean, and the depth increases slowly so the smaller kids will have plenty of room to splash around. There is a rowboat with a small motor, paddle boat and dock available as well as life preservers. There is also a deck with a gas grill, patio set with umbrella and chairs as well as a lower level patio that has patio chairs and lots of shade.

The house is immaculate and almost all the furnishings are new (furniture, mattresses, linens, towels, etc.). Because we used to be renters too, we have tried to reduce what you'll need to pack by stocking our house with everything we think you'll need. There is a can of coffee next to the coffeemaker as well as tea bags, sugar, creamer, salt and pepper. We supply paper towels and napkins, and dishwashing detergent. The bathrooms have towels, wash cloths, toilet paper and tissues, dixie cups as well as soap, shampoo, conditioner in hotel size containers. There are 2 hair dryers. You are welcome to use the washer and dryer. We leave detergent and stain remover to help you. You won't have to pack bulky beach towels either. We have plenty on hand.

The house has two levels plus a loft. Each level has a full kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom - two families could easily share the house. The main level has a great room (combining living room, dining room and kitchen) with sliding glass doors to the deck; a master bedroom with a king size bed, cable TV with DVD player, master bathroom and walk-in closet; a second bathroom with a jetted tub; a laundry room with a large capacity washer and a dryer; and a loft over the great room, which includes a queen size sleeper sofa and a desk.

As you can see from the pictures, the kitchen is modern, spacious and clean. There is a coffee maker, blender and toaster and abundant dishes, glassware, cookware, serving pieces, plastic cups and plates for the kids, baking pans, measuring cups and spoons, etc... You get the idea!

The dining area has a table and six chairs. There are also four bar stools that surround the kitchen island and a high-chair. The main floor great room has a gas fireplace, high definition cable TV and a DVD player. We keep a binder in this room full of area attractions and directions to get there.

The lower level has a living room (with a queen sleeper sofa) and sliding glass doors to the patio. The lower level also has a second full kitchen; two bedrooms (one with a king bed, one with a queen) and a full bathroom. The lower level living room has cable TV and a DVD player.

In the winter the hill leading down to the lake makes a great sled hill and we are right next to snowmobile trails.

You must be at least 25 years old to rent the house.

Why the Owner Chose Muskegon

My sister and I had been renting homes in this area for about three years. We loved the time our families got to spend together and knew that we had to buy our own home to make even more memories. We love being right on the lake and that we can truly relax here without leaving the comfort of home behind.

The Unique Benefits at this House

There is both much to do and nothing to do at our house depending on your mood. We have spent days by the water swimming and paddle boating and going in for the occasional bite to eat. We have also spent busy days miniature golfing, go-karting, hitting balls in the batting cages and going out for ice cream. The trip just wouldn't be complete if you didn't spend at least one day at Michigan Adventures Amusement Park. I'm a fan because the lines are generally short for the rides (sometimes there isn't even a line at all) and the water park is large and can accommodate the little tykes as well as the teenagers. Most of all, it is clean.
As the days go by you realize that you've forgotten the date and that you don't feel any stress because you don't have to be anywhere at any particular time. The air is clean, the lake is warm and the only noise you hear is your kids laughing and squealing in delight in the water.
In the winter we have a blast going down our own personal sled hill. Some of the most fun comes from blazing a trail from the house to the sled hill. This area gets lots of snow! We have also gone to the local winter sports complex for ice skating (there is even a trail that goes into the woods), cross country skiing and attempting, if you can believe it, to luge. This complex has an Olympic quality luge that is open to the public (including kids) at a modest price. They even give you a lesson.

A
Craig's Cruisers

This place is definitely for families. There go-karts, batting cages, bumper boats, miniature golf, and arcades. Wednesdays are the day to go because you can get a wristband for $15.00 and then can

B
Michigan Adventures Amusement Park

Amusement and Water Park. The amusement park lines are usually reasonable, sometimes no lines, and the water park should satisfy every age group. The amusement park is easy to get around and small e

C
Carousel Movie Theater

Large tubs of refillable popcorn with different self-serve toppings you can try out. It is very clean and usually not too crowded

D
Russ' Restaurant

This is a great family dining place with homemade desserts and very reasonable prices. It is closed on Sunday.

E
Hobo's Tavern

This is a sports bar and restaurant that is fine for kids. There is no smoking anywhere in the building and it has lots of televisions and great wings.

Owner's Map of Muskegon

The kids play miniature golf with their grandmother. If it's Wednesday it must be Craig's Cruisers. You get to play miniature golf, go go-karting and play bumper boats 'til you're exhausted for the flat fee of $15.00. We go anytime we're in town on a Wednesday. There are also batting cages and a Chuck E. Cheese style arcade so this has become one of our favorite places in the summer. We also go berry picking and make muffins with our harvest and love to visit the local ice cream shops. The movie theater is a favorite because you can pour all kinds of toppings on your popcorn (sometimes it really is the little things that make life so good).

"The Beautiful House"

Guest: Matt (St. Louis, MO)
Date of Stay: 07/17/10 Review Submitted: 07/20/10

These folks have thought of it all!!! Everything you could possibly need is included in this huge, modern home. An unbelievable value for the money. Great deck with a large gas BBQ grill for meals, star gazing, and late night conversation overlooking the lake. Great fishing from the dock for the little ones, or in the john boat with the trolling motor. (caught three 10" plus bass) I have a hard time believing there is a nicer home for the money to rent in the area. The owners are very helpful and informative with the particular needs of your trip. For sight seeing, Mac Woods Dunes tour is a must up in Silver Lake. We also had a nice day at the Country Dairy Tour. Muskeegon has many things to see and do and the public beach is aces. After a day of sightseeing, our grand kids would ask if we were going to "the beautiful house?" That is the highest recommendation.

I just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know that we had an absolutely wonderful time at your house in Twin lake. We've rented several properties from VRBO.com and although we've always enjoyed ourselves we've never left and thought we'd want to come back to the same place. However, we would love to rent your house again. The sled hill was awesome and the house was perfect. Luckily we took lots of pictures.

I am sorry that I have not sent you a note concerning our vacation at your Twin Lake Summer House before now. We stayed over the July 4th week last year. It was all that you shared about the house and more. You have done an excellent job in making it very user friendly, with so many extra's that we were not expecting. We had a great time--thank you for the info on the area and the short cut to Lake Michigan. The house was very clean, the beach and dock were used by everyone--esp. the children.

This was our first time renting a house, so there was some trepidation in doing so, but everything was clean and organized. Everything was so well labeled there was no problem finding anything, everything was clean and in working condition...the best way to put it is that everything in your ad was absolutely true. Of course, now we'll expect every house we rent to live up to your standards.

Wonderful family vacation home

Date of Stay: 08/15/09 Review Submitted: 09/24/09

Our family, including 8 kids ranging from 2-15 had a great week. The lake is great for young kids with a clean beach area and water shallow enough for our 4 year old to stand in at the end of the dock. As for the house, the pictures and description tell the story. It is a clean, modern house with plenty of room for our family. There are plenty of beach towels and bath towels for everyone. The lake was as quiet as advertised and we were often the only people on it. The house is also close to many western Michigan beaches, and the sand dunes. One thing just briefly mentioned in the desciption is the loft. It has a sleeper sofa, desk, recliner, and two skylights. It made a great bedroom and the recliner was a favorite spot for the kids to go to read. We highly recommend this house for families looking quiet place close to western Michigan attractions.

Fantastic Property

I had a wonderful time at this quiet, clean, and well-provided for lakehouse. Everything was in order at the house, which is enormous and all modern. It fit 9 adults comfortably and had room to spare. Fishing in the lake was great, and the swimming was good as long as you don't mind a murky bottom. The surrounds are authenticly western Michigan, and everything you need is within a few miles. If you are looking for a peaceful week in a beautiful surrounding, this is the place to go.
