Very private. Excellently maintained, ocean view cottage in Old Del Mar. 1650 sq. ft. of wonderful indoor-outdoor living. Beautiful garden with many varieties of plants, fruit trees plus refreshing indoor-outdoor living on patios with new hot tub and private garden.
Walking distance to downtown Del Mar (1.2miles) and the beach, (0.7 miles) downhill-uphill walk. Ocean breezes makes air conditioning completely unnecessary. Private parking (2 car) outside the courtyard entrance. Three short stairs transition from parking area into courtyard; otherwise all indoor and outdoor facilities are on one level. Ideal for two couples or family of 4-5. Excellent for entertaining. Gardener included. Maid available.
Pet friendly with side dog run with high fence and shade.

I have been meaning to write a review for a while now. My wife and I used this place as our honeymoon retreat and had a wonderful time. It was a cozy, comfortable and private place to unwind after months of wedding planning. The owner was very communicative and accommodating and we had no issues with regards to money. It looks like they take credit cards now which is nicer than sending checks in the mail (which is what we did). We did not rent the place for the ocean view, and it was distant, so if your main reason for choosing this place is the ocean view there may be other options. However if you are looking for hot tub (amazing), fireplace (cozy), adjustable massaging beds (only wish we had discovered this earlier!), close to the beach and quaint Del Mar (walking distance if you wish...we were lazy and took our car), then this is a great place. We enjoyed the bbq grill and kitchen too, but there are plenty of places to eat close by if you wish. We certainly hope to come back again if we can. P.S. Although I only checked the box for "Romantic getaway" I am sure it would be a great place for other people/events, I just can't speak personally to that.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

We enjoyed our stay in California very much. We had stayed in a different VRBO twice before, but the dates we wanted were already filled, so we tried this listing. We were VERY happy with the property. The listing was very accurate, but more beautiful then the pictures showed. The owners were cooperative and answered all our concerns and questions. We visited the usual tourist spots, but also enjoyed the city of Del Mar which we hadn't done before. Excellent restaurants and shops were so close it made the vacation much more fun. My wife cristina and I will definitely come back to this home next year, and will bring our baby, which is due in a few months.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We visited San Diego for a week and stayed in this very beautiful home. There was 2 couples in all, and we had such a great time in this very unique city. We ended up spending alot of time at the house, it was so beautiful, and the kitchen was perfect for making great dinners. We used the hot tub a few times, and felt like we were in heaven. I'd recommend to everyone to take this type of vacation. The owners were very cooperative and helpful.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
